Zoroastrianism appears in that province in India (Daman) to represent the Zoroastrian Diaspora who fled from Persia after the Islamic conquests in the 7th century, and subsequently the persecution they suffered under the Caliphates. There's still around 140,000 people who follow Zoroastrianism today and the majority live in India.

My understanding was that they are still considerably less likely to do so because they consider themselves to be "at war", the logic being that they will end up in two wars if they choose to attack you.

Yes, but iirc their independence cannot be supported while they are at war, which gives +100% liberty desire, making them a real pain to integrate and also makes them a lot more confident in declaring their independence war

The problem I run into is that the Muslim nations just give Dhimmi autonomy, just like they do to the Hindu provinces. You have to forcefully dismantle the big muslim nations to build up the tiny Zoro nations.

14:10 actually, missionary strength decrease seems to only apply to Zoroastrian 'provinces', which means it does not affect conversion of provinces 'to' Zoroastrianism

'Our missionaries are a little on the weak side' Local Missionary Strength means YOUR religion is harder to convert not that it's harder to convert others, local missionary strength only applies once the province is converted to your religion, muslims and orthodox (and I think coptics?) have the same local missionary strength reduction.

i looked it up, Eransahr or shahr is basically the old pre-Sasanid word for the Iranian empire, Eran being the old form of the word Iran and referred to the Aryans originally but came to be more of a political identity. Eranshahr in contrast to Eran also includes lands ruled by them but are not considered Iran proper.

Eran isn't actually an old word. It's the ACTUAL pronunciation of "Iran". I'm not sure about Persian, but in Kurdish "shahr" means town or city--which I think is interesting, since Kurdish is actually closer to Middle Persian (language of the Sassanids) compared to modern Persian (which came after the Islamic conquest).

Thought I would mention if you watch from 06:40 Afghanistan’s integration can also be instant. If you start it and the immediately seize the single province that you don’t have a core on. Even though they become upset the integration jumps to 100% the next month tick and so they are integrated.

There's only 2 things I wanted to see updated for Persia. Missions about Reclaiming Central Asia and adding Tajik culture and Tajikistan tag. Without those the entire update would feel useless

I can happen on occasion. Usually the AI will occupy Cairo and then peace out after a year or two, instead of waiting around for the full 3 years for the Eyelet event to fire. If the Turks get fought to a standstill after taking Cairo, they'll get the event and sometimes take the Eyelet.

When it was first added in Domination it was written so the Ottomans would never take the right event decisions to be able to do the Mamluk Eyalet - but the patchnotes for the new 1.36 patch say "The Ottoman AI will now try to make Mamluks to their Eyalet should they declare on the Mamluks with the right cb and occupy their capital for one year."

Culture switch tip: If you do it later (e.g. after deving renaissance in your capital or integrating vassals) you can switch to khorasan too. You don't have to be persian just iranian.
