Here is the thing. Probably not even Esam knew this, but the drift of Mii Brawler's helikick affects the angle of the launcher. If you drift away, it travels more horizontal distance and sends at a deadly semi-spike angle that kills crazy early on the ledge. If you drift in, it practically stays in place only recovering vertically (not more than the other variant) and sending at a 45º angle that can only kill sometimes at the top if you are really high and your opponent doesn't expect it and DIs wrong. Almost always drifting away is the better option, but people don't do it that often at the ledge because the move leaves you in free fall and you might die of it. But a Brawler technique is to drift in during the multi hit and drift away only during the launcher. That would send your opponent with the better angle while still traveling short horizontal distance and living. I bet Esam didn't knew this while playing against you.

The Mii brawler up b is actually an interesting move because the way the brawler holds on the last hit of the move affects the knockback angle. If ESAM holds in or up (Can't remember off the top of my head), it sends more up, if you hold out, it has more of a horizontal angle

For Mii Brawler Helicopter Kick, the farther you hold forward when the move ends, the more straight it sends with kind of high bkb, so it can net stocks very early if you get caught with it near ledge

@@willa655 it is true. There are two launch angles. A weak and strong hit. Weak hit combos to heli kick. Up air combos to heli kick. Nair leads to heli kick. The inputs to steal stocks are hold out on the initial hit of heli kick, hold in so you don’t go too far out, then on the last hit you hold out again to send your opponent further horizontally.

the confusion from the up b all have an answer, the angles change a ton from not moving at all (sending at a meh angle) back (sending mostly up) and forward (sending forward at a good angle) and then it has different amount of power in the air (sending at a killer angle for forward, and the other two still meh)

Mii brawler’s up B (the one in this video) has two different knockback possibilities. It depends on how the mii brawler holds the control stick while doing up B. If he holds in, you will be lauched in a upward angle. But if he holds out, the angle will be more horizontal and usually kills earlier.

If I'm correct, if Mii Brawler holds back during the Up B, they won't move forward as much and the launch angle will send more upwards. If they hold forward, they'll move more and it will send at a more horizontal angle.

You should try to play WhyDo sometime ALSO he could have killed you basically any time he did his up special at the ledge (FE 6:45). It has custom knockback, so if he held forward it sends at that stupid angle and kills at 50 (at the ledge). The downside is that you can't always make it back, so I guess that's why he held up when he did. The move is stupid, its like zss up b on steroids.
