I wash all my wool and cashmere sweaters (of good quality!) in the washing machine ... of course with the dedicated program and shampoo and not more than 1-2 times a year... they come out great, better than hand wash ;-) ! Unfortunately there isn't alot in any kind of wool i can wear even with an underlayer my skin still itches- so i look for cotton and viscose. I noticed your neck and shoulder was itching during the video. CC Always interested in goid basics in organic cotton and bamboo. 😊

I PROMISE you I am simply fiddling subconsciously with the collar which is stiff and simply stands on this sweater. I am not in any way bothered or itchy by it. If you pay attention in my other videos I tend to itch/fiddle my throat when I speak, so presumably that’s why 😄 But fully aware not everyone can do every type of wool, you have my sympathy! My mom swears by bamboo, too - I can’t stand it 😄

@@NajaSierra oh I am a fidget too ,🤣. I can sometimes manage a cashmere hat and gloves in winter but not a scarf, my neck is super sensitive. I wish I could wear wool. I am going on holiday to Copenhagen in January, looking for places to shop while I'm there. X

My experience with wool is that I was sensitive to the processing of the fabric. So a good wash eliminated the discomfort. People forget that there's chemicals, dyes and some yarns aren't clean or get contaminated during manufacturing like dust etc. But these days you can find heavy weight cotton and synthetics if you prefer.

Have you tried everlane. They have great organic cotton option.

I just discovered Soft Goat for cashmere! They are such high quality. Pricy but worth it

I would warn people about Everlane. I don’t think their quality holds up over time. I have a cashmere Stroopwafel sweater from them, and I rarely wash it and care for it the same as all of my other knits. The quality is not there. Holes are opening up on the body and sleeves, loose threads are hanging out, etc. I also bought boots from them and returned because the leather was so low quality and stiff with coating. Cos, on the other hand, has been impeccable quality and really worth the money!

Today I went to &otherStories. The navy peacoat has really disappointed me, the fabric is nice and stiff, so the color is, but those two pairs of pockets, like, located horizontally and vertically by each other, it just looks not right. I prefer quality pieces and details as this one can make item appearance seem poor. I bought two semi-transparent wool tops though, they feel good to skin if anyone is interested.
