FINALLY the nyc apartment search is over!!!! In this (chatty) moving to nyc series (vol 8), we apply to additional nyc apartments and make hard decisions. Emotions are high and the uncertainty with other external factors make the whole week tumultuous!!! I live in Brooklyn in a small apartment that is privately owned and my landlord is a gem. I have found private landlords to be so much better than large management companies, so I hope you have the same experience!

CONGRATS on finally getting one! I think this apartment is a great choice! I like the wood around the kitchen, and you can't beat having a sunny view either. This whole process is bonkers, isn't it. The brokers and their fees are nutty, IMO, but what can you do. I live in a walkup too (3 floors) and you get used to it. I hope you and Chapi (sp?) enjoy your new home and thanks for sharing the process of finding a place in NYC!

There are actually a few Nepalese restaurants in midtown. I tried one of them and absolutely loved it! Honestly when I saw this apartment it was an instant favourite and top choice for me, I was actually surprised when you weren’t that excited about it 🥲 Sooo happy for you!

If you get a chance, I would recommend to go to JAckson Heights for Nepali food 🇳🇵 Every time I get excited, someone else gets the apartment :) but I really thought I wouldnt get this apartment.
