I HATE the OP in this story. For the love of god, talk to your boyfriend. It's not that damn hard. Good lord. Just finished it. Yeah, OP is just the dumbest person ever. All she had to do was talk to to her boyfriend once and everything probably would have been avoided. But, because she apparently can't think, she says nothing and lets everything go to hell.

If Colton manages to realize, that he no longer needs to satisfy a pompous a-hole of a father through his acomplishments and salary, and reverts back to a person enjoying life, he will have dodged a bullet honestly. This woman knew everything, didn't like what her future husband was turning into FOR HER and decided to talk to everyone, but the person who actually mattered. For months she watched her bf becoming a shell of his former self, taking the absolutely worst advice from the worst people and did NOTHING to stop it from ruining her relationship. OP doesn't deserve to have a husband willing to go through all that for her, she'd rather watch her man suffocate from pressure than help him with his problems. Now she just decided to run away, instead of dealing with her problems and without putting people who think they "know better" in their place. OP is a wimp, simple as that.

totally her fault. all she had to do was go to Colton and say "listen, i know everything about the proposal and stuff, and i don't agree with my dad" when she first noticed the change

Christ, OP sat and watcher colton crumble for months and did nothing. Her dad essentially manipulated colton to change who he was and OP did nothing. All this could have been prevented if she just spoke to him ONCE before everything went down.

I'm not for women proposing to their partners but she should have done something close to that. Just tell him she wants to get married immediately, even if she just wants to elope. If anything he gets the hint to not get the job
