There's a budget board out there that has many of the same features and does away with several he found annoying. The Tecware Phantom 87 can hot swap any Outemu switch available, and the feet are non magnetic. Plus it is only $45 on Amazon

@@MrRumblefrog just about every board reacts to switches differently, for example silent switches in leopolds board are stupid silent meanwhile in some other boards they can still give off the "clack" due to poor casing/material surrounding the pcb and switches. Typing tests are very important.

For those looking for a budget keyboard, the Cooler Master CK552 for 80$ is amazing. I got it when it was on sale for 65$. It has gateron red switches which feel better than cherry mx red, it has rgb, a num pad, made of aluminum and plastic so it feels good and it has minimal branding on it which for me makes it look much nicer. For only 80$ its a steal especially if its on sale!!

Keep in mind that the Keychron warehouse is in Hong Kong. It ships from there, and if you don't like the product, you're responsible for returning it to there. Which means, effectively, there are no returns. Keychron doesn't offer a return label, so you can pony out more money than you spent on the actual keyboard, trying to return it.

As an Emacs user I need a reasonably big set of single-function keys, UHK is nice since I can remap any key (with, as always an absurd software instead of a simple text file with an optional (web)/local GUI)... IMVHO keyboards OEM are NOT computer users so design just to compete with others without real ideas behind their choices...

Right, I'm sure none of them have ever touched a keyboard before. Instead I'd consider the possibility that you have a very unique set of needs compared to the average computer user that most of these companies are designing products for. You're one in a thousand at best, and companies don't make a ton of money catering to the needs of the minority.

Many touch and use a car, only very few are F1 pilots. The same if for the keyboards: in the past computer users are generally "professional" users and average keyboard offer many options (look at historic keyboards) now average computer users are office staffs, gamers and casual users. My point is that pro users still exists and right now they struggle to find good keyboards. Perhaps you do not even know that few pro keyboard exists, from Kinesis to Maltron passing through HHK, KeyboardIO, TypeMatrix, Esrille, ... and even that satisfy only few professional users, for high prices.

I think you're using the feet incorrectly. It looks like they are designed to fit within the little recesses on the back (and front) of the keyboard, not directly to the flat back of the keyboard. This would solve the lateral rolling problem that you displayed. Plus the feet edges look parallel, not tapered. By placing the feet in the provided slots will keep the feet parallel along the edge you are elevating, thus not having issue with their shape.
