Yeah that's a weird choice. It does have its flaws, it's obviously dated now and it feels repetitive with doing the same few tasks before each assassination but I don't think it deserves to be that low.

@@erg1947 Plus those tasks played very well into the game it took place in anyways. They are repetitive but they make sense in the setting. It's kind of like how tailing missions were really repetitive in some of the Ezio games but it's looked past mostly because they're somewhat fun in the context and everything else rocks

Honestly my biggest gripe about Unity was Arno never really felt concerned or interested in solving his father's murder, because I woulda loved this, Rogue (my personal fave AC game btw), and 3 to build up to essentially a crossover game where you play as Arno, Connor, and Shay throughout.

Arno deserves this as a sequel. The first game introduces him, he's an in-the-moment guy who didn't know his father was killed by a Templar. He didn't worry about it because he was concerned about a fresher murder of another father figure. After some time in the Assassins post Unity, he discovers that not only did they know exactly who killed his father, but that they never told him because they knew he would fly even further off the leash than he already had. For the time being though, they have nothing better for him to do and Shay is a high-priority target, so they assign him to the task of hunting Shay. Arno is mad that they didn't tell him sooner, but ultimately accepts that they were right to do so and graciously accepts that he can prove that he has come some way as an Assassin by approaching this mission more level-headedly... but can he follow through on that?

AC3 is easily my favriote. Conner isnt exactly the best from a character perspective but i loved the setting, the whole "Build a town" thing that kinda happened in the background, Commanding ships wasnt overstayed, and tge combat was really the best out of all the games. Conner is a utterly massive brute but was quick and agile like the other Assassins yet he was made to be the assassin you go head first into a fight with because he dwarfed most enemies outside of those massive axe weilding guys

Honestly, my least favorite thing about the AC franchise is its fanbase and some larger youtubers that love to nitpick every new entry until its buried. Truly a hateful, spiteful group of people who wish to tell everyone they are wrong for enjoying anything outside of AC1, 2, brotherhood, and revelations. Addressed to those people: the AC you started with is moved on and gone. You can either move on with them or drop the series altogether. Either way its time to stop crying about the past lmao.

​@@Usernsbsh The villain sucked; can't even remember his name. You remember Cesare, but you forget the sultan's sons real fast. The gameplay was the same as Brotherhood's/II/I. AC needed a shake up at this point and this one didn't deliver. Mediterranean defense felt awful. Some of the missions were infuriating. Like the one where you have to protect the crier. Ezio feels out of character here. Ezio in Brotherhood is mature, and pays respect to the dead. He doesn't needlessly chance civilians' lives by nearly destroying an entire city, and he doesn't burn down entire harbors just to escape on one boat. Ezio in Revelations felt like he was written by two completely different writers; the one who understood him was on the Sofia missions, and the one who didn't was on practically everything else. The factions have no character to them, and no reason to ever go to them, ever. They felt stale and boring. Lost Archives/Desmond Memories were fucking awful. Hated playing through that shit, absolutely despised it. The hookblade was great, but the animations looked janky at times. Eagle vision was actually solid, III and forward fucked it up for me. Bomb making was cool, but there were few situations you actually needed to use them. I can think of like, 1 mission they were helpful in because the rest of the time they felt worthless. Not worthless as in ineffective. Worthless as in not necessary at all. The story overall felt... Lackluster to say the least. II suffered from too many characters that all tried to be memorable, but Revelations had Yusuf and Sofia. That was it. Brotherhood was an improvement on II on almost every major front (except story, story wasn't as good, but it was serviceable). It added goals for missions. Tombs had an interconnecting plotline to them now. Side missions gave us more insight into characters and factions. The city upgrade system was both extremely impactful and fairly rewarding. The sights were overall better, and combat was an upgrade overall from II. Revelations has way too many bugs and far too many shortcomings to appreciate what little it brings to the table. That's why I think it is lackluster, and I've 100% the ezio trilogy twice: once on the original releases for the 360, and once as part of the ezio collection for PS4. 1. Brotherhood 2. II (not by much though) 3. Revelations (by a lot)

Sure it's not perfect like I'm not a fan of the amount of tailing missions, the modern day isn't great, the hand to hand combat is too easy for me, and I wish there were more side missions but the naval combat is addicting as hell to play, the story is great, this game and the Ezio trilogy have the best cast of characters, the setting is beautiful, and I don't remember running into any glitches in the game. And while Edward is more of a pirate than an assassin for most of the game I think it makes sense it's like that to show his character journey plus at least Edward becomes an assassin and the assassins creed aspect feels like a main part of the story in the end, unlike with Odyssey and Valhalla where it's either not really there or it's treated like a side plot (I like these 2 games btw but I wouldn't call them Assassins Creed games).

So far, between the Assassin's Creed games I played, my opinions are the following: Assassin's Creed 1: The very first I actually got a chance to play, and it gave me a damn huge headache at the time cuz I think this was one of my first experiences with HD games in general, especially on a rather nice headset. But yeah, fast forward a little later, I get over and play it more. And.. I dunno, 3 targets in, I just feel the repetition. I can believe Altair becomes one of the true greats, and I hear the final boss is worth it all, but I just couldn't put up with the rinse and repeat of the game, alongside Altair's attitude in those early stages. Assassin's Creed 2: I ultimately skipped ahead to this one and, yeah, I loved it. I really enjoyed Ezio from the start, I enjoyed the evolution of the gameplay and the moment to moment interactions. I enjoyed Da Vinci, I enjoyed the modern sections; the only thing I really didn't care for was the climbing. Just because other games have done it worse doesn't mean it isn't a frustrating experience. But otherwise, this was ultimately the only one I completed of the group. Brotherhood: I can't say much about it except.. damn I love that multiplayer. 4: Immediately a lovable beginning soured by the modern stuff. I have not moved on since. Unity: I actually liked my time with it, mostly because I got to experience it after the fixes. Having said that, the experience also feels like it suffers with the modern day thing, as far as I remembered. Origins: So I was cautious about this one. Everything I saw looked less like AC and more like modern Far Cry, but 3D. And when I finally played the game.. I didn't like the combat. I had to stop. I haven't played one since. I'd like to try out Mirage. Probably not day 1, but maybe on a decent enough discount if it gets good enough reviews. I'd certainly like to venture into my past playthroughs to see how it feels with a more open, refreshed mindset, especially AC1 as I feel it's the one I had the most progress in after 2. And I'd certainly love to try the older ones, like Chronicles and Syndicate.

i really recommend picking up origins again tbh. the story is good and even if the hidden blade is only for stealth assassinations, that makes it better for me personally. makes you want to stealth more. also, bayek is a damn great protagonist too. but if you still have origins laying around, just one day try giving it another chance :)

Shocking. Odyssey is one of my most favorite games of all time; it's not at the level of legendary games like Skyrim, Witcher3 or RDR games but after those its one of the most enjoyable and memorable experiences of my life; even though it has some major flaws; it just does too many things greatly to be ignored; it was hundreds of hours of epic advanture that thanks to amazing loot and some unique side quests in new islands never got boring and there was always some new thing to diacover; and i know lots of people feel the same. So i'm just shocked when some people like you put it at the bottom of their list; it feels like it's out of spite rather than an actual unbiased opinion. Also; how is Origins 7 fucking ranks above Odyssey those two games are so close that origin is basically a less complete version of Odyssey! Be honest have you actually played odyssey? Ac2 felt like fresh air after this, even though the story and writing declined in quality it was much better in everything else, I also didn't mention that in ac1 you had to do fricking side missions to progress in main story, what other games force you to do sidequests bruh it's by far the worst in series, although ac rogue was the last game I finished.

Personally, I love the first Assassin’s Creed. I agree that the minimalist gameplay design can be repetitive and the combat is basic compared to the rest of the series. However, I like the well-written conversations of the target investigation characters, and the combat can be rewarding once you understand combos, guard breaks, and throws. It IS awesome to play. The Third Crusade setting is perfect (one of the reasons I like Valhalla is it returned to the medieval setting after nearly 15 years!) and the atmosphere is entrenching. Plus, the story is so good with the moral greyness of the Templars.

@@UAC_MERC From my experience, you like one part of Valhalla, your considered an RPG fanboy by quite the number of people. While riddled with issues, Valhalla is still a great character driven game with Eivor (male) being one of the best written characters in my opinion. He's just done so well. While I liked Odyssey a lot more and was let down by Valhalla, even dread parts of it because I grinded the DLC, it's overall a pretty enjoyable game.

I've pretty much played all of the dlcs for the main 12 games plus Liberations, except for Valhalla and some added Odyssey missions. I am almost done with Valhalla's Wraith of the Druids and just have the Siege of Paris and a few more missions left. Also Julie Fowlis has an amazingly moving singing voice in Wraith of the Druids.

I'm not a sworn fan of the franchise, I only played the Ezio trilogy, Syndicate and Origins (and I feel I've had enough, at least for now) and I enjoyed all of them, although neither was perfect. (But I have to say out of the three Ezio games I liked Revelations the least. And it's not sentiment talking, I played all of them last year :)

The fact that they put Brotherhood behind Valhalla... just, what? No. Stop the madness. Valhalla might be a lot of things to a lot of people, but an Assassin's Creed game, that it is not. Even the marketing was literally 'be a Viking'. For me, the best games of the franchise are definitely the earlier ones. And as great as Black Flag is, it's actually a bit of a departure from the creed (like, QUITE). Heck, even Revelations is a departure from the creed because of Den Defense. Open battle in the streets of the city? Did Ezio forget the reforms of Altair? Or rather, maybe the devs forgot... Yeah, a lot of these 'rankings' (atrocities more like) are done by people who just want quick clicks and have no idea what they're talking about. It's just more evidence as to why we arrived at the point we're at now with this franchise. People buy into the hallmarks and get drunk on hype, but the further we go down the line the further we depart from what the series actually was and was meant to be. I guess there's not much helping it now. Que sera, sera.

Assassin’s creed Valhalla, I don’t think it’s the worst assassin‘s creed. What did it for me on that game is the lack of new game plus, I put countless hours into that game hoping for a new game plus it never happened and never will and I don’t care what other people say about odyssey in my opinion it’s a highly great game. The only thing that kind of makes me mad about people saying stuff is when they run their mouth on the game because it doesn’t have the hidden blade. The game takes place in the time before the assassin’s brotherhood so of course the protagonist wouldn’t have a hidden blade.

Have to agree with their Revelations assessment though: it's easily the weakest instalment in the Ezio trilogy. First of all in terms of gameplay: it's the first AC game that feels like a step back, not forward. While Brotherhood added horse travel in the city, Revelations removed it entirely. ACB added animus training simulations, ACR removed it. ACB had a distinct difference in hidden blade combat (narrower counter window but can counter anything) vs other combat (can't counter spears, etc), ACR removed that nuance. ACB had a large variety of side-content, ACR has so little content, it had to incorporate side content into the main story (i.e. the secret locations). The story is also very lackluster. ACB really sought to advance the modern day story, ACR serves as a placeholder until AC III. And while it was cool to have Ezio find Altaïr, the question remains: what the hell is the revelation in AC Revelations? We KNEW prior to this game that solar flairs destroyed the Isu, we KNEW Altair had an apple, ... Nothing is actually revealed in this game. The Mediterranean Defence is outrageously tedious, the Den Defence is boring (though you can almost avoid it entirely), the armour looks hideous in this game and somehow all protagonists no longer resemble themselves but seem to have more simian features.

I think people hold it close to their heart because a lot of them started off on it. But it needs a remake because it’s sooo boring and outdated. The idea of an Altair is awesome but not ac1 🤷🏽‍♂️ Unity gameplay is what ac1 remake could look like but hopefully with a good story. I haven’t lost hope since origins story is great and I hear a lot of good things from Valhalla.

Unity is my favourite, literally only for the parkour... I can play for hours and do nothing but run around Edit: when people complain about "no gravity" in the parkour, they're not playing it right..

For me, a history fanatic AC: Unity and AC: Origins are the worst. Unity's storyline is just terrible and deserves a whole rewrite. Just less Elise and more French Revolution history. Elise should've died in the beginning instead of her father. Then as Arno you pursue revenge for her death. AC: Origins had many historical inaccuracies and did not include a glossary of the places you visit in the game. Not everyone knows ancient Egyptian history. Having a glossary would've been helpful for understanding the setting of the game.

I played it last year, It was/is still Buggy. I still got the 111011 Error code cs1061, If I could play the DLC Alone, Maybe I would Like it more.

Revelations had an absolutely breathtaking cinematic trailer. Iron by Woodkid as the song, the action, teasing Altair’s return. It’s just perfect. It’s middle of the pack for me compared to the entire series but the story was excellent and that Desmond first person DLC thing was pretty cool

Your take on unity is completly false and people overhype the hell out of Unity. Current Day Unity: Floaty/Uninteresting combat also extremely buggy, often times will not work, animations glitch out, weapons can get stuck. Story - Started very strong.. then literally goes into the most randomized storyline where none of it is remotely constructed or coherent. The overall buggyness is quite literally still there you get stuck on random terrain all the time, you get random objects when freerunning prioritized all the time, the parkour by far is insanely clunky. does it look good when it works? sure. Works like 2% of the time though, and when you actually play it it's objectively clunky to control and gives no freedom of movement. visuals/graphics are absolutely stunning.. until you then consider the fact that NPCS are loading in 10 feet in front of you with popins, then consider the fact that 3 feet in front of you textures will still load, characters/npcs will spawn in on objects then glitch downwards. Even to this day also the game has VAST performance issues I'm running on a very good PC build and I still go from 144 fps.. to in other areas down to 60.. Multiplayer was the best aspect and cool and the stealth system was by far one of the best. But most of what you said is completely untrue. Any person who objectively looks at unity without bias can look at every point i just said and agree.

AC 1 and 2 aged really bad. It's not about the graphics or the mechanics, the missions and level designs are bad right now and the narrative have a lot of issues. AC Unity is the worst game of the series, I know the parkour and environment were so good but that's it. My only concern in that list was AC Valhalla, so repetitive and a very weak narrative. And this is coming from a diehard AC Fan, I love every single game (except Unity). Sorry for my english, i'm from Argentina

Valhalla had a great narrative. The issue was the pacing. The story surrounding Eivor, Sigurd, and Basim was unique and interesting, especially moreso than any other story in the series, most of which amounted to little more than generic revenge plots. If they trimmed the fat off of Valhallas story (and by that I mean the excessive amount of story arcs that they force you to do in each region just to continue the main storyline), it would probably be regarded as the best story in the series. It's narrative and writing was one thing I actually felt Valhalla improved on despite taking a step back in every other way. The only reason I even bothered to finish Valhalla was because I was genuinely interested in how Eivors journey would end.

Odyssey suffered greatly from woke developers. Ancient Greece wasn't full of tough female mercenaries, female bandits and women who were strong and independent, except for Sparta. The fact that every other woman in the game was tough and cursed like a sailor destroyed a lot of immersion from the game for me. Odyssey is still fun but it feels way too modern in the way it handles gender roles. For me historical immersion is paramount in games like the AC saga. Origins still felt immersive but Odyssey just wasn't that immersive for me. And it's a huge shame as ancient Greece is an awesome setting for a historical open world game.

Here i'll say it, Odyssey is really funny to play. Among the rpg trilogy probably the best gameplay BUT it really has nothing to do with the Assasin's Creed Franchise. The just threw a bunch of stuff to make it seem it was when in reality it is not. You don't play as an assassin, you don't feel as an assassin and the story has nothing to do with the assassins. To put that game above games like 2 is just a complete BS. Really the worst opinion one can ever have on this series

Top 3 AC IN MY OPINION!! Since ya gotta emphasize that nowadays is 1: AC1 2: ACBrotherhood 3: AC Unity Reasom for AC Unity being number 3 is because im ranking it AFTER the updates. Although still not perfect, it has the best Parkour, best graphics, best world design, neat mechanics and does justice to the legacy outfits, has an interesting story, great stealth gameplay, a reference to Ezio in the Dead Kings DLC, coop missions that are rather fun, so much to do in terms of exploration as well as coop(which can be done alone), and I do think that Unity is rather underrated and shit on quite a bit by a lotta people. And for the Black flag lovers: i have it top 4 in my top 5 list, i personally love the game as well so dont go giving me shit for not having it here lmao. In regards to this ranking i do agree that it is in fact the WORST AC ranking ever. Man has never played the games and if he did then he didn’t pay attention or learn anything he probably should have if he has AC1 as one of the worst and talks about Altair having the least development.

Valhalla is a great viking game its actually really fun when you ignore the shit story well mostly shit story. Ac origins is number 2 for me i absolutely love origins its actually my third favorite game ever. Odessey is shit its genuine feces the storys shit the comat is shit you dont even play as an assassin. Unlike valhalla its not a good game its grindy boring frustrating and i absoluety hate it. Brotherhood is my favourite in the series and they put it somewhere between 11 and 5 so... Honestly brotherhood was such a good game for me i cant talk about it because if i did this comment would be as long as the story of valhalla. And unity is not as hated as it was but its still to hated in my opinion unity is my third favourite game in the franchise i absolutely love paris and dead kings.
