So needed this. Thank you for your candor. I was so close to my goal and let so many things get in the way and am back where I started. Its so discouraging and depressing. I’m so excited to see how you organize your new refrigerator. I have an American style refrigerator because I live here and I’m always looking for better ways to organize my meal prep. I have a ninja creami and love it, I know you will love yours as well. This is exactly what I love about you ❤️ you are so real and honest. I also gained about 5 pounds over the past two weeks and have decided to go back to basics. In my weight loss journey I've lost 25 pounds but have about 45 to 50 pounds more to lose. Can't wait to get to my goal weight in 2024!!

This video has come at the perfect time. I've lost 60 lbs, and around this time last year, I was at my leanest. Since then, I've gained about 14lbs back. I have been so discouraged as of late. Thank you for being so transparent, it's extremely encouraging. You're doing amazingly 👏

So wish I could afford a new fridge. Always had secondhand; too small for lots of veggies, old style so stuff gets lost at the back, and I have to share with person who doesn’t consider plant material food. 😢 Happy for you and your incredible purchases. Happy 2024!

I swear by cruciferous veggies to get to and maintain a healthy weight, too! I feel so supported by you sharing your journey, Ami! My first year being vegan I jumped about 8lbs up from my omnivorous weight. It can be difficult to neuroadapt to a vegan diet let alone a whole foods plant based lifestyle.

I absolutely love that you had a cracking Christmas AND that you are starting NOW to align your HABITS with your GOALS! You are absolutely real and inspiring! It is absolutely possible to over fuel even on wfpbsos free foods. Sometimes just a little tweak like less blended foods or less dates and maple syrup does the trick. I know I had more maple syrup these past two months! Looking forwards to your journey. Thanks for sharing! Love your enthusiasm!❤

We have that fridge!!! Its amazing. We did so much research into to the size of the fridge and freezer bits. This one, in Australia was the best value we found. Then.. both my brothers bought it too! Definitely a winner! Loving getting back on track! 🌿

Yes to everything and anything you want to do and share! Like others here, I have also gained weight in the last few months. I’ve been consciously building muscle over 2023 and have been eating higher calorie foods and more off plan meals (always vegan but not always oil free) when socialising. I’m getting back on track and I’ve also just purchased a Mylk machine! I am totally in love with it, and already loving the reduced waste and. I’m so excited to re-lose the last five kilos with you! Let’s do this.

I have not been prioritizing loads of veggies. That is why I've gained as well. Added back pasta, bread and an occasional beer. I have not stopped walking, movement and exercise, but the pounds have started to come on again. I'm ready to get back to my leanest. I'm 20 pounds up, sad to say. But I was only at my leanest for about 30 seconds. I've lost 80 pounds originally, and have kept it mostly off for 3 years, until recently. So back on the wagon for me. This means, for me, that I must keep track of calories, so back to basics for me too.

I agree, sadly , I love 'bread'...unless I follow a Dr McDougall plan I put on weight, and only creep back down to my ' normal of 9 st ' , when I follow that, which quite frankly is boring so keep walking keep happy keep healthy Jenny xxx

Ami, when I watched this on your stories this morning I was literally making almond//hemp milk in my Almond Cow as you talked about getting your plant milk maker! We had chatted in your comment section in early 2023 when you were seriously considering one and I had just invested in ours. Admittedly, I had gotten away from it until just recently so I felt really connected with you mentioning your desire to prioritize it! p.s. HYPED for you to have a proper "American" style fridge! I have always been so impressed with how well you use the small fridge space you do have! Knock down those shelves and make it happen! When we bought our first house I was the MOST excited about a sexy fridge with lots of drawers for produce so I totally appreciate your refrigerator shopping excitement! p.p.s. Also, same, I'm getting back on track today not waiting until the first of the year! Stoked for you to be sharing this phase of your 'journey'!

Yes to a video on your top tips. Repetition is key and I can use the help getting my brain reset to being more conscious about my choices when it comes to eating. Went to the shops and got carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, a few potatoes, quinoa, tinned chickpeas, some spices, etc and made a huge batch of the quinoa to have at the ready. Made a batch of your hummus which I also used to make a salad dressing. Had a huge bowl of low calorie density veggies, half a green apple, and some of the quinoa topped with the hummus dressing and it was so delicious!! A very large portion of food which took quite a bit of chewing and it left my tummy so full! Keeping the porridge simple is the way to go! I think porridge with cinnamon and frozen blueberries is so tasty and satisfying! I’m sure it won’t be long until your tastebuds adjust. ❤❤❤

Hi Ami. I wonder if you’ve considered how your exercise regimen might be increasing your appetite, and causing you to unconsciously reach for richer foods? Running and weightlifting will definitely do that. And also, I wonder if some of the weight gain might be heavy, dense muscle vs lighter, fluffier fat. You may want to use a measuring tape or see if you can find a dexa scan so you can have a more accurate way of tracking your lean mass. Could be an interesting experiment. All the best ❤

It’s very tricky to figure out how to maintain after losing. I found my TDEE calories on an online calculator. It’s super helpful to know my maintenance calories. I gained a few lbs. over the past few months so all of your tips are very welcome!

Yes, I have always...noticed dates create weight gain and many vegans would argue that they didn't. Thank you for validating this. I used to have trouble curtailing my intake of dates so I didn't buy them but now they don't induce cravings so I have a few now and then.

If you listen to McDougall and Esselstyne, Greger, etc., you may have noticed that they very much encourage THOROUGHLY chewing your food, not just as part of "concious" eating but to get those enzymes that originate in the mouth into your food. "Chew it until it's a paste in your mouth" is what they've said. I've noticed from your videos that you take large bites and within 2-to-4 chews it's gone and down your throat, and I'll bet that you haven't even noticed. You're so amazing and helpful and I thank you for all you do, and for your WONDERFUL Indian cookbook!

Ami, I’ve heard you say it to us a zillion times to eat veggies before the starch. Realized I have got to start doing that. I just want that starch first for some reason. You look great! Today you actually ate like you usually do to me. My problem is grabbing something on the run when I am out & about! So good to see you today!!!! Love! Jamesey is soo cute & handsome!
