I loved Adalia's comment "I don't want to sift through the men that are left over, and dream I get lucky too". That was so funny 😂 but also if that ain't the truth, I don't know what is!

“You don’t get to be a part of my future!” My same sentiment during that time of my life. I so understand how she feels.

This is a lot. I had a pretty positive birthing experience here in the U.S. even though I was a teen mom. I delivered at a really nice private hospital and didn’t have to pay anything because I had private insurance and Medicaid. But I live in Houston and there are tons of great healthcare options.

I should have had my child in France 🤷🏾♀️ For black women, some countries and cultures are just home. Jalila its Peru, for me its France. There is something that feels right, even though it doesnt resonate with other people.

What an entertaining and informative interview! I loved it! 😍 As a single woman who has contemplated IVF and birth and living abroad, and even though I'm Christian in faith, this was so relevant to me. Jamila has such a vibrant personality and she needs to start her own KZbin Channel! I appreciate her humility and willingness to share her story. 👏 And thanks to Adalia's excellent interviewing skills, we heard so many gems. 💎 Mil de gracias a ustedes dos! ¡Saludos!

I don't want kids but I watched to the end. People need to hear about healthcare options outside of the US. The statistics show that the maternal mortality rate in the States is higher for Black women than for white women even with similar socioeconomic status. With all the technology available why are we dying in childbirth at the levels of women in developing countries?

Medical care abroad is so different than in the US

@@AdaliaAborisade we're used to paying the most and getting the least. What most of us pay for health insurance per month might cover 3-6 months of private health insurance in another country. Public healthcare services will keep you alive and not bankrupt you but it might take months for non-emergency tests or procedures. My cousin waited years for knee surgery. My mother in-law waited 6 months for a type of medical massage. Medical tourism exists because there's good, English speaking doctors, all over the world. It's cheaper to fly to another country to get dental work, without insurance, than it is to go to the dentist down the road using your dental plan. Wealthy folk have been doing it for years.
