Seriously though, I will pay you for the sheet music for that solo at the end, it is absolutely beautiful. I play the drums myself and my secondary instrument is a guitar. This solo alone made me pick up a bass (literally). The one note where you slide your fingers away from each other not only is a beautiful note, but the symbolism that lies within it for the separation of you and your bass, as well as the fact that it’s the two furthest strings from each other and moving in opposite directions... I just love The Whole thing. I’m serious about buying the sheet music. 😂 found this channel from Davie’s channel and honestly I think I like this one more.

Me at the end of the sad last bass solo: No! *crying* Don't let it go! . (that level of beautiful tragic melody, really pulling at my heart strings(pun intended))

Unfortunately, my bass playing skills aren't quite good enough to go ham :/ I play bass since summer of 2019

I watched numerous other 8-string bass videos and they weren't all that inspiring,,, BUT THEN,,, I saw a couple of your videos and they killed me! I started playing 8-string bass in 1968. I bought a Hagstrom as soon as I heard about Noel Redding playing one. I was playing in a loud trio that played a lotta great gigs opening for everybody who came through Florida. I played 8-string on about half of our tunes. I played thru 2 Ampeg BT25 heads, each driving a cabinet with 2 SRO 15's. I had one amp on both sides of the stage and when they were loud and clean they sounded like octaves played on a grand piano. I even bought a second one as a spare, but one night they were both stolen from my car. I started playing bass and guitar in Mudcrutch about then, so 8-string wasn't really needed. But I've been wanting to get one again for recording and if there's ever live music again in my lifetime, I'd love to play some aggressive music on an 8-string. Anyway, Charles, you're a True MoFo! Thanks, cuz I needed to hear something as good as what your videos dished out!

Bet he gave the bass to 69 guy not because he was the best, but because he really needed a better bass and Charles decided to support his creativity and talent. Which I think is the right move to do, but I would've given it to the Mario Kart 8 guy at the end. No doubt.

As much as I admire Davie he’s got nothing on you brother! I know my bass players, used to think victor was the best bassist on the planet followed closely by my hero mr Les clay pool but the more I watch and listen to what you do I realise your are a god! The Eminem of bass....keep it real sir 🎸

It's unbelievable how, with help of technology, this new generation of bassists have come through and have taken playing to the next level. And we can now see it the world over. Things have certainly moved on from those days of Level 42's Mark King (still my personal favourite)!

saw $69 guy and thought he is gonna win, would love to see this again, but instead of a single $1000 bass what about 5 $200 beginner basses for people whom battle you with other instruments like that flute, sax and keyboard did.

What the hell is a $200 bass? Starter kits only?
@cjay8804 жыл бұрын
nope, what I mean is the same kind of contest but instead of gifting a 1000$ bass to a single bassist, he picks out 5 great players of other instruments and provides them with the tools to learn with and enjoy.
