You should do the 3 layer wolf cut. They usually do one more little ponytail right at the very top of your head at the very front hairline. That creates the bangs and shortest layer at the top of the head. Your clean up/ fringe cut looks super cute though!!

Your hair is fine, you just need more moisture in it! It looks like you have a wave in your natural hair, so it needs more in it than just conditioning in the shower. A leave in treatment, leave in conditioner, etc. designed for curly hair (more moisturizing - stuff for straight hair avoids too much moisture since it can weigh down straight hair). Possibly a protein treatment, as well - stripping the colour also strips the protein.

Linseed Gel works very good for me as a leave in conditioner. I have wavy, thick and a lot of hair and it tends to get very dry, too. I've read that oil only covers the hair and protects it while linseed gel gets absorbed better by the hair.

I always use a leave in conditioner, on my fine, curly hair. Last week, I grabbed body butter by accident (the container size was the same) and used that on my hair. I was pleasantly surprised at the results - it worked great.

I find using a hair oil is really good for making my hair look a bit more sleek, especially if it has just been washed.

It’s going to be very difficult to get all that moisture back with that heat and bleach damage. The only thing she can do is grow it out and start again. 🥲 sad truth but her hair has been breaking and she’s been losing a lot of length in the last year. Thankfully hair grows back.

I've been using this technique to cut my hair for the past few years (not this short... a lot longer but same technique). I have some tips. When you put in the pony tail use a second hair band and pull it down the length of the pony tail to where you plan to cut the hair while holding the hair up at the angle you want... then you can work on it with your arms more down and you arent killing your arms!! trim off the hair just below the bottom hairband (straight across ... just cut it off evenly). then remove the BOTTOM hairband (not the one by your roots yet). you can either work with it off or put it back on a little futher up the hair while again holding it at same angle to give some room at ends of hair to point cut. And then go back in and point cut up into the hair to give it a softer edge. you can then let the hair down and fix any areas that might be uneven or whatnot. i hope this helps...

Same..... I've been doing this for 15 years. Lol. It's a lot easier if you do it wet though, especially if you have longer hair. When its wet you can make sure the back doesn't get too much of a point in the middle

I was taught how to do this like 6 years ago while living in Mexico and helped a couple of my friends do it. At the beginning of this year I was debating between going and getting a super dramatic, professionally cut, A-line cut or doing this and eventually just went with this. Then a few months later I found out it's trending and people are calling it a wolf cut. 😄 Although, honestly the way I was taught was a lot more like a hack than his, his was much more actual hair dressing technique. Also, mine was only one ponytail and literally on the hairline so that the front most hair is exactly the length you measure it to on your face so my bangs were cut into the style.

It's hard to go wrong with layered hair. It just brings so much life and movement into it. As a hairdresser this method isn't really the best because it's pretty much impossible to be accurate. But I'd say with a bit of finessing this could look bomb. It suits you now too though. ❤

I've cut my own hair before. It was a huge mistake. I was told that if I brush my hair over my head and cut straight across, I'd get really nice layers. Well, in college I decided to give it a try because I couldn't afford a haircut. I ended up giving myself a horrendous version of a mullet that when I pulled the long bits back, I had an awkward bob (almost a bowl cut) with a ponytail underneath. Never again.

I honestly think you should go back to the darker red hair, it was so lovely and suited your skintone so well. You could have it done by a salon once it’s open, and then they will colour your regrowth mainly and refresh the rest of the hair which will significantly reduce damage. To be honest it’s easy to learn to dye your hair at home and not damage it. If u need any help just let me know as I used to be a hairdresser. I will say that you really suit that style so you should get a hairdresser to sort it and keep it for a while !

I know it would be shorter than you wanted, but I think cutting the longer bits off so that you have more of a shoulder-length cut overall would help with making your hair look thicker. So what we do as stylists is to make our client look the most natural as possible by using artificial means. A natural colour application ie blonde, brown or red would help to accentuate the layers of this shag hairstyle. Plus hair styling products to help emphasise the texture will make it look much more polished and professional💕

I love that you say "my hair can't take any more dye" and like a week later you add another dye! 😅🤣😂 love that cut! Personally I'd take the bangs a bit higher if you're keeping it as a fringe. Also I 100% support the idea of you going for an undercut. They are super freeing!

I always find it interesting how styles come back in. I rocked that hair all through the late 90’s to the mid early 2000’s. I think it’s a great look and anything with so many layers flatters most face shapes. I think it looks great Alex!
