In todays episode, I dye my hair Half Pink Half Purple using Etude House Two Tone Treatment Color in Pastel Violet and April Skin Turn-Up Color Treatment in Pink!! Follow along on the journey as I shampoo my hair 4 times using Head & Shoulders to try to get the colour to fade into pastel hair. I've used a few purple hair dyes now, and i'm still on the hunt for beautiful & unique purple hair dyes - i'm really interested in trying the Arctic Fox Violet Dream hair dye, and if there's any other colours you recommend, let me know below! Out of all the chickens I've worked with, silkie's are by far the most fun to be around. They have so much personality! And I still cannot understand how upset people can get over other people's hair. For something that is 1) not yours and 2) grows back, why are ya'll so salty???

as someone who knows things about hair and hair dye, semi permanent dye is not ruining your hair its actually probably one of the best things you do to it because the formulas are usually conditioning. if it has a developer, it damages. aghh

i think it looks really cute! some people just have frizzy hair, doesn't necessarily mean it's damaged. a professional could do a conditioning treatment to help with the frizz if you don't like it (or you can deep condition at home) but it doesn't seem that damaged, especially since you're just using temporary colors.

I use Olaplex no. 3 and the oil, too. It really helps my hair as I use a lot of direct dyes to keep up my pink hair. I think it would be great for Alex.

The “two tone” is because you can also by a diluter from the same brand therefore it can be light or dark, aka two tones! I’ve used their colours tons of times and I love it!

We're getting more brown eggs under the myth that brown eggs are healthier, but the truth is that store-bought eggs in general aren't particularly healthy because the chickens aren't. Basically -- different chicken breeds lay different colors of eggs!

Read up on chicken breeds :) We used to own wyandottes, cochins, lakenvelder chickens and 2 brown hens that were saved from egg laying factories (they had their beaks snipped off). Also we are not doing it wrong just different. Both methods have been shown to be equally effective at preventing disease and cross contamination in eggs. I personally do agree that it would be better to leave the natural egg cuticle intact considering once it is gone they HAVE to be refrigerated and the energy expenditure to keep eggs refrigerated throughout the whole process to get to consumers. Washing them doesn't allow the "yuckies" to get through the pores of the egg in and of itself. The eggs would have to be left in contaminated water or kept at too warm of a temperature for there to be contamination. But yeah studies have shown our method doesn't cause an increase in food borne disease.

Honestly, it’s just hair. It grows back. Do what you want with it. Go rainbow, go black, go back natural, who really cares? I did purple over my natural red and it was really pretty. Now I don’t do anything, but I just got a shag cut, too and I love it. I’ve also been rose gold, had black hair at one point, had an undercut, then used to see a barber because that’s how short my hairstyle was 😂 Do you and what makes you happy!

Something I've been meaning to ask - have you tried to use the Curly Girl method before? Rachel from Rachel&Jun tried it and she has similar hair to yours, and hers came out really curly when she thought she had straight hair, and I tried it as well - turns out I actually had curly hair rather than wavy! There's a lot of politics around what's "allowed" in your hair care with the CG method, but the method of "casting" your hair with mousse and gel out of the shower and then drying it tends to help a LOT with taming frizz, bc you're letting your hair dry the way it wants to without the weight of the water and gravity pulling it straight!

I've cut my own hair for about 15 years now, and sure the first few times it was pretty evident, but as years past I've gotten pretty good at it if I may say so myself (and since I cut my whole family's and a lot of my friend's hair too I'm pretty confident). Still there are people who as soon as I mention that I do it myself (even though they said they liked the haircut) say things like "Oh you should go to a professional so you don't ruin your hair"... One time I just responded "The reason that I cut it myself is so a hair dresser won't ruin my hair" (all the love to hair dressers out there, you're doing an amazing job and I respect you so much for having to deal with people on a daily basis, I could never). If I'm cutting my hair and it doesn't turn out great I can live with that. I would have a harder time living with paying over $100 and not being happy with the result. Honestly, why people bother so much about other peoples hair baffles me. It's not yours, you don't have to deal with the "consequences" of anything someone else do to their hair, so why bother?!? Although it's probably a good thing that they have so few things concerning them in their life that they feel the need to be concerned about someone else's hair.

The end result looks really good. Can't wait to see where the hair journey will take us before the big cut at the end. My mom from a very early age on always let us do whatever we wanted with our hair but also taught us to always trimm our ends every couple of months to keep the hair healthy. Still go to her for that actually because why spend money I don't have on a hair dresser when my mom is perfectly capable of cutting of like 1 to 2 cm of hair too with her hair cutting scissors? She enjoys it I don't have to spend money it's a win-win situation. Omg yes!!! I stop colouring my hair about 5 years ago because of all the damage I had done to it. I gave in 2 years ago and coloured it and immediately regretted it. It was like I had all that damage back from one colouring! I really miss being able to change my hair colour though and now that I'm getting a decent amount of grey (im not worried about being grey I just hate the transition. I feel like it’s something that everyone should know but, if you really want a pastel color on your hair the safe way is mixing the color you want with a white cream so the color will be lighter 😅

Alex, our hair is just the same. Since my husband loves very long hair, I didn’t cut it the day we were together. The only difference is my natural hair color. I’m a natural dark blonde. Neither nice bright blonde nor fully brown, my hair is always in the just between state. So, I started to color my hair with henna. And I love it. I’m doing it for 8 years now. Don’t let anybody tell you what you can or cannot do with your hair. Yes, your hair is damaged… Who cares? As long as you are happy with the way you look and/or have fun with the process. In the end, it is just hair. It will grow back. 😉

Not going to lie: Your hair transformation is STUNNING! Your technique was especially great when compared to the ones I see daily; I teach high school and regularly see students who "ruin" their hair for funzies. You looked like you were having a lot of fun, and the colour is amazing! (And at least you didn't shave your head for $15 or dye your hair with exploded markers and peroxide.) Just a heads up (and I do mean this in a nice way) as someone who managed to grow out a Pixie cut during lockdown last year the growing out stage is HARD. I have hair that is thick and grows quickly but for some people it can take well over a year and the regrowth phase can be very difficult to deal with because there's really not very much you can do to make it look nice. Unless you're 100% sold on the idea of shaving it and prepared to deal with the regrowth stage (or you're planning to wear a wig) I'd still try to take care of the mid-lengths of your hair so you don't have to scrap the lot.

I agree 100% I started growing out my pixie cut around October/November of 2019 and I truly believe the only reason I was able to do it was because of lockdown 2020. It took just about a year before I felt at all comfortable with the length. I still get the urge to cut my hair again pretty often but I dont want to go through the grow out process again so im always torn

I love it! the cut and the colours look so cute!! For those of you that get yourselves upset about her hair, 1, it's her hair let her do what she wants. 2, It's hair! It grows back. if shes happy then thats all that matters. PS: I missed Archie in these two vids :(
