Jimmy, I've been playing on TL5 (Gunma Cycle Center) for many months leading up to your video. The server was desolate in it's prior state. I just wanted to thank-you for your videos on this server. The amount of users, culture, and fun that has just been injected into this community overnight has been incredible. I never thought I would best my time on that server prior to your video but there's already new users coming on blasting prior leaderboard records that I am learning a ton from. Thanks again man.

It didn’t help that they changed the setup some months ago to make people download a single car at a time rather than one big pack as before. That shit is tedious. It took a hour to download every single car mod for all servers on touge Union.

Yea this is DEFINITELY it. Every Iracing stream or race is just him calling himself a helmet for 90 mins or so and being down on himself for dropping a tire off. It's just not fun content tbh. THIS is fun content. The Shutoku Revival stuff is fun content. Serious racing is honestly just bad for Jimmy and I know he wants to love it, but it just really cripples his mood if it goes even the slightest bit wrong.

@@trautsj racing in a more serious manner (especially endurance since it’s a team sport) is just like that though, constantly trying to avoid mistakes because it ruins a long race for multiple people. I think as we have seen with the f1 content for example Jimmy wouldn’t be doing it if he wasn’t interested in it. Those sort of races are all about the emotion at the end and the big moments that make it worth it.

Jimmy has always been at his best when he isn't doing super serious races tbh. The Gran turismo box boy runs, the beamng stuff, the Nurburgring laps, Shutoku Revival highway runs and now these touges. Super serious racing just kills his mood and thus drags down the content quality.

Pretty sure someone has said it by now, but warming up the tires is indeed a thing on this mod. Its necessary to do a couple laps to bring tires up to temp before making speed runs.

It's so cool to realize that the thing we did as teenagers, at night on small town streets with traffic, is now a legit sport. Though we didn't do two runs or anything, just whoever was leading had to be so far in front that they could hide, wait for the second car to pass, then come up behind them. And there was no set circuit - the leader chose the path. So aside from the fact that what we did is completely different, it's still cool.

Yep touge is such a cool thing to watch ! i think touge racing is really unique because it is completely stuck in a time period. All the cars used are 90s cars and the roads have a unique vibe to it ! and the nature of the track makes it unforgiving and challenging.

JIMMY! PLEASE GET KAIDO MAPS BATTLE TOUR! there is an elo system with actual races between players by flashing lights and turning on hazards to accept. There is also a leaderboard and about 15 touge maps from initial d. They are amazing. theres also a leaderboard for overall times and individual car times. It does have limited cars but they are all jdm classics. There is a discord with a bunch of teams on it. People were also hosting battle tournaments and everything. It had so much potential and all it needs is some exposure.I really hope you see this and consider checking it out.

Jimmer, have you thought about giving hillclimbing a go IRL? I’ve spent years doing circuit stuff and last year and this year done a couple of hillclimb days (Gurston Down and Prescott, the latter being more fun). They look a bit simple watching other people do it but it is a mega rush doing it yourself, super narrow tracks, no run off, and going as fast as you dare. Give it a go 👍🏻
