Just got back from a fishing trip on the llyn peninsula - had a few larger sized schoolies, shed loads of Pollack, and a few mackies. Awesome to just be out there as you say though 😁

Nice sesh Matt. Great mark. Lovely evenings too. I’m West of you and had a few schoolies from the Kayak (& a few joeys) nothing big yet. Early morning is most productive for me so far, hoping to try a few evenings. Still waiting for the larger ones but think it’s a bit early still 🤷🏼♂️. Always nice to ‘reclaim’ a lost lure from the sea - a decent catch in itself. Keep ‘em coming. 👍🏻👍🏻

Of course there will be the moaners but so times the cards must be played close to the chest. If one day we do bump into each other on the beach somewhere the honour and pleasure would be all mine. I think we have a seal issue in my area there are loads now not as many fish about I seen one dead last week. Me thinks some people are fed up with em. When I fish my spot I see a seal fishing I catch so they brought me luck so far.
@SaltwaterAngler Жыл бұрын
Interesting what you say about seals. Same problem around my way too. Yes we still catch but it’s horrible to think of all those bigger fish being gobbled up leaving us the small ones. Yes , I know we should all love them and they are more entitled to the seas bounty but I don’t like them and there are too many in the same place all of sudden. But they do know where the bass are so worth paying attention to their movements
@tomasdevine7756 Жыл бұрын
@@SaltwaterAngler I fish the tide coming in, rocky with kelp like seaweed that floats. The seal is always there when there are fish if he's not, no success. 2 nights ago fishing boats dumped their off catch at the pier the seals were having a banquet there were 6 fishboxes with cod heads and the like just left there birds going nuts. I thought they are not ment to be feeding them... nevermind the razor fishing aftermath seaweed everywhere because they were nuking the seabed before their season ended. Some serious shit that's wrong going on.

What type of rod and line (type and weight or is it strength)are you using…I will try yo buy for a bit of fishibg
@tomasdevine7756 Жыл бұрын
@neildean7515 35g favorite skycaster and a stradic 4000 reel that's what I got I love em. They are not cheap either but no point in buying shite either. I got the cheapest waders going and they are bulliet proof. Catching Mackrell last night the seals were stealing any big ones off the line immediately. I can't advise you on line cos mine could be better I got braide.

Another great video! I’ve seen a few of your videos, you’re in the Hastings area. I really want to try the beach at Rock an Ore. is it only accessible from the car park, or do you have to walk on the path up on the cliff?
@SaltwaterAngler Жыл бұрын
Hi Tim having seen those rock falls a few years back I can’t advise anyone to go further than that end ground. Add to the the big tides cutting people off it’s not what I would mention here on KZbin. That said in recent years I’ve done well off shingle beaches on bigger tides and you can always find a spot
