Here's what you need to do with that oil drain--Remove it and throw it away! They're notorious for leaking and making a mess, as you saw. Get about a 6-inch threaded pipe (1/2-inch as I recall) and screw it into the drain hole. Then put a 45- or 90-degree elbow on the end and a screw in pipe plug. Then you can just pull the plug to drain the oil, and it will not run all over the frame, just right into the drain pan. $5-$6 for parts and messy oil changes are history.

That button is when you have mower deck on, if you don’t hold it down when you back up it turns engine off so don’t back over kids. I had one with v twin Briggs was a good mower, got for 80 bucks mowed my, and two neighbors yards with it for a couple years before moving.

You are so right! I saw your comment and looked up pictures of the Husqvarna Ith151 and it looks almost identical! I think Scotts copied Husqvarna's tractor design.
