I had the strato gasket mod done for it to run better before this video was filmed. Now to tune it and see how good it really is!

Small saws have there place. Really like the top handle saw for quick work.

For the way I use chainsaws and cut firewood, a top-handle saw is mostly impractical.

Looks like it cuts good hope it holds up can never have too many saws except for room to keep them

It will cut better once I tune it and get a few more tanks of fuel run through it.

seems like it will run well once its tuned,keep us updated

Will definitely do a video where I tune the carb with before and after cutting test.

I just got one. I took the carb and intake off and the strato port was blocked off. I don't think it can make full power if you don't open it up.
@thefirewooddoctor4 ай бұрын
You got it. It will not make full power with the strato blocked. My guess is that they did that to help avoid patent issues as the OEM 543xp is a fairly recent saw. Think Husqvarna still makes it.
@clintbliss20464 ай бұрын
@@thefirewooddoctor I got it to soup up. It was only $129. A 543 is almost 600.

@clintbliss2046 wait until it gets broke-in. Mine is a little ripper and only has a few tanks on it. Don't get to use it much, as most of what I cut is in log piles or on the ground. That or big tree service wood. The short 16in bar gives me a backache. But for brushing out a tree and bucking limbs, is hard to beat the NH843.

@@thefirewooddoctor my firewood saw is a ported and polished 272xp. This little thing is a toy. Going to go for some high rpm hp for fun. Open the transfers increase compression and play with the timing to start. I like high rev small saws. I'll probably run a tank or two to break in a bit first. If it blows don't care. You can buy parts for it attached to a whole new saw. Lol

you can round file the square ground chain easy bud!

I know. I accidentally did it to one not long ago without realizing it was a square ground chain. LOL!

@mtnviewtow88 will see how good it works this weekend if can get time in between the rain showers to get it into the wood and tune it.

After reading the reviews I ordered and received mine! Two tanks of gas later, she squeals intermittently and cannot determine if it's the clutch or engine...
@thefirewooddoctor7 ай бұрын
Has to be the clutch. Did you grease the clutch bearing?
@Oouther17 ай бұрын
@@thefirewooddoctor no, never had to on my other saws…

@@thefirewooddoctor But I’ll check that! Don’t they get hot enough to cook grease?

@Oouther1 it needs to be gressed.

I've had several OEM saws that never had the clutch bearing greased, even Husqvarna and Echo.

What didn't you like about the NH843? A small limbing saw is very hwndy.

@@thefirewooddoctor I should say I bought a larger neo tech saw. I had problems with the bar adjustment and also the engine starting. So I returned it.

Hope you have better luck than many. 10 years later you will have spent as much or more tweeking and repairing it as if you had initially bought a "real" chainsaw like a Stihl or Husqvarna .. . that woud perform better initially, steadily and finally.

I have a Husqvarna 572xp as my "go to" saw. Have a few other clone saws that are running pretty good. Once they die, I'll replace them with OEM saws.
