I had a Design banned a few months ago on Etsy that was JUST reinstated. I live in Florida and there’s immigrants from a certain country to the south that apparently the algorithm doesn’t like. I made a ROOTS design featuring the American Flag with countries like Ireland, Italy, France, Etc….including this country. I was told it was removed from my shop for that specific country and appealing it did nothing. Then out of the blue after several months, they reinstated. It was very weird and upsetting, but it’s back. Unfortunately I’ll never get the potential sales back and it’s past the “boost” window, so it’s essentially a “dead listing”.

@@shimmymorris1 they were clear. It was the Cuba flag. There is a large Cuban immigrant population in Florida where I live, but they deemed it unacceptable and took it down. I have coworkers that fled there, but still have love for their country. It was frustrating to say the least.

Good on you. It's all down to the bots. There are too many of us for the big platforms to keep themselves policed with humans. I got banned when one word in an ad had a second meaning and was misconstrued. Innocent stuff gets you banned but it's not personal. It's a dumb computer.

I thought that closing accounts was only limited to third world countries. My Merch by Amazon account has been closed and they didn't tell me the reason no matter how hard I tried. They just said that I have no right to get it back. Whatever it is, I am happy that you were able to get it back. Thanks for the video.

A few months ago, I received an email from FB threatening deactivation of my account for multiple violations. I clicked the link and it took me to some obscure FB function where there a list of multiple violations for copyright infringement regarding the music that I use for my ADs. The problem is that I purchased this music, was allowed to use it for my commercial and I had to respond to each and every violation. I cleared it up but my point is that FB flags things as violations that are not.

The problem with FB is that Metadumm thinks that AI knows everything and that no one can ever buy the rights to use Music this or Music That. One person on youtube got flagged for using her own music, that she created and owns the copyright too, because it was published music. I forget who, but she told about this on a youtube video.

Shimmy, after 1y and hundreds and hundreds of designs creating and uploading, RB suspended me for no reason...sigh. Being from Croatia, cant open a shopyfy/printify shop..not the right country, so you tell me...should i cry or should i cry? Be happy and enjoy you are able to do all that you do.

Same. I had 1000s of designs in redbubble and was making good regular payments. I one day uploaded and new design and boom account closed. Never reinstated.

Hello Shimmy. I'm so sorry this happened to you, I hope everything turns out well for you. This did happen to me before in life in general (not fb ads) and the last time it happened to me I was not as affected as before, because I kept myself busy with multiple things. So if this fails there is this. in fact I was even grateful I had more time for other things. so always diversify, and know it's normal to feel sad in fact it might even increase as it sinks in, so hang in there. I have some questions to ask you, you mentioned how you were going to do email marketing using fb, how were you going to take people's emails from fb? Can you market your store without spending money on ads? for example, making videos/shorts for free on tiktok, reels,fb free posts, insta, yt shorts and just showcasing your product or giving it away or something?

thank you! Appreciate the comment. No, what i'll do is drive traffic from facebook to my store and have an email pop up for a 15% off code if they sign up. You can market a store without paid traffic, that's what i'll be doing with tiktok

Shimmy many people get banned for going too fast because the algorithm thinks you’re a bot or that you’re spamming. Not saying that’s what happened but since it does happen frequently to others I thought that I’d mention it. Hope it all goes great for you going forward.

I hope to hear updates on this store, I am now invested. My amazon merch store was terminated back in 2020 when I didnt know anything about policies and I was selling copyrighted material, Since then i have educated myself on they're policies and emailed at least 10 times in the past 3 years to get my amazon merch account reinstated and to my surprise my persistence payed off, I got the welcome to amazon merch email last year. It goes to show, never give up on something you really want.

Like yourself, I used FB ads years ago… facing it now is a nightmare. Uncertain how this is an improvement. A month or so ago I paid over $100 for something… it wasn’t to run an ad… it was to monitor something. No clue. My store opened back in Sept & not one organic sale yet. Marketing is my bane! My ADHD wants nothing to do with it. I’m coming to the realization that I may need to source that out. 😮😢

Sad, that even if you manage to do most work yourself and rely mostly on yourself, there's still this almost unavoidable dependency on private monopolies. Even Shopify is yet another platform, you do not own your store under them. Your store is just a profile on that platform, like on any other. There will always be some dependency no matter what one does, but putting your whole business under the mercy of some monopolistic giants is a bit too shaky.

@morris1 It might not feel that way, but it's still just another service. They have complete access over your account, and any shop you create under them by extension. If they decide to close your account, all your work's gone, except for the data they allow you to export. Imo, people have gotten way too comfortable with all these subscription services, where they don't own anything. Edit: Whoops. Same OP comment person, btw.

Shimmy, don't give up. I have followed your channel for ages. I have faith in your journey. Personally I'd love you to share every single aspect of this project as I'd love to learn what you are doing. I tried doing it all myself, including printing, and have realised after five years and brain cancer that Print on Demand is probably less stressful so I'd love to learn from you. Sometimes it's good to vent. I wish you all the best. Just stay positive. Sadly Facebook know they have people by the balls and can do whatever they want. They will probably blame an algorithm or a computer bot or something and I wish that there was a credible alternative to Facebook, really I do because I hate the platform with a passion, but there's nothing else, or at least nothing else not owned by Mr Zuckerberg.

shimmy, id just hears from a reputable guy from spain who was saying tht facebook look deep into dropshipping stores and if they find anything they suspect of being of subpar quality, or from shifty sources, they ban the shop. and now i hear about yr experience... i really hope you can sort it out with them soon.. pls keep us posted

That happened to me in 2020 with my first attempt at dropshipping. However in my case, I tried everything and I didnt get it back, so I shut down my Facebook page of 10 years. I was flippin furious. I also had an Etsy store shut down for one semi controversial design that I was making money on Redbubble from. Im doing my best to never give FB money ever again. You are dealing with AI, not a person when your FB ad account is shut down, thats why they wont reopen it.

I'd love to see the whole FB thing inc the shop products. And then the stats. (I'm not a stats person so am obsessed with them). To be honest I'm not POD oriented either -2 bucks profit per unit, 30-60 days before payment - prepaying the company and then the payment possibly being reversed by buyer, nope, not for me and 300 bucks of ads just sounds as likely to be effective and as desirable as dropping the same amount in the nearest club pokie, I think you Brits call them fruit machines. I really want to see the stats around the FB sales, once traffic and design have been solved, in fact I love watching case studies - like on Etsy Consultant. I am interested in dtf custom transfers, (I'm an artist) as doing sub at home is incredibly complex, unreliable/unstable home use machines, ink etc.

@@shimmymorris1 you mentioned others print on demand stores closing and to stick through it. These platforms have a reason for closing your accounts. I’ve been selling on eBay since 2012 we as ebayers know the reason when our accounts are suspended. It’s either a vero violation which is copyright infringement or selling product that can’t be sold on eBay’s platform. Maybe people should be accountable rather then act like they have no clue why their accounts have been deactivated. And thanks to ai optimization it’s easier for lawyers to sue sellers now. So keep telling the sellers to stick through it instead of actually figuring out why they were banned. I’m constantly hearing people being sued all the time now by law firms because of copyright infringement it’s getting much more easier to use ai to sift through all the platforms to find copyright infringement. Then the law office will buy the product have it sent to one of their employees homes and that’s when they can sue you. Either way there is always a reason why platforms will deactivate an account so everyone needs to stop the bs and get real. Selling dollar shirts on red bubble on KK y to get sued five years later for 100k good job

I must say it is so sad that after spending money FB decides to ban an account out of the blue. They take money and the customer has to bag them to reopen the account. 🤦‍♀ Mad world 🙃 I'm more interested in ETSY. Start by appealing. One of your competitors might have maliciously reported you. So appeal and ask for explanation. Facebook do have that option.

@@bambubombon Tried to do something good in their POD thing. I made some notebooks and tried my best to not make any copyright infringements etc. etc. And one day I got mail that I am banned. And their sick policy is that BAN means forever ban. I can only assume that I had duplicate of my notebook cover that they just did put into mode that it is stored/archived untill I will make changes. I had no time to deal with editing it. I can only guess that it was that as this c^&*t company have policy of not telling why they gift bans. First time I heard about amazon was years back and did not know about them to much appart that they have warehouse in Poland and I read an article about how they treat workers. Almost like slaves. I was not happy about that. Then as I mentioned, one day I saw a opportunity to make money online. I put work into creating accounts etc. then spent time to create notebook covers and those c*^% just gifted a ban just like that without giving a &&*&CK about that. And I also read that many ppl are treated like that. Also I watched a story about a guy and his "smart" house and he used amazons alexa or some s(#% and it spyed on his door bell and in a situation of a delivery guy delivered something to the owner house he thought that he heard insult from the owner through doorbrell cam as he was away from house. When he got back to the house the damn F&@#^& amazon smart system did not allow him to enter his own house!!! This company is nazi terrorist or some sort of f(#*&% oppresing approach. No wonder they treated or still treat workers as slaves counting how much time they spent on s^%ing and deduce that from their pay check. SICK! F*#(%& up company. That is long story of why this piece of trash company is for me dead filthy piece of stinky cr&*p that I will never deal with, EVER. F)(*( this nazi company. FB in comparison are very censorship and invigilating. I was on private chat group with adult ppl where we send to each other some pictures, short movies, funny gifs from internet that are for adults. And I did not even sent a porno gif. I sent a gif of Jim Carrey sucking a breast of a woman from movie "Me, Myself & Irene" and that FB spyed as a bad thing and I was banned for short time. I argued with those mot*#*%&s about this. Anyway they did similar thing few times to me banning me for 2-7 daysand sometimes longer all for sending funny gifs or slightly erotic pictures from internet INTO A PRIVATE GROUP CHAT! Where all of us had fun, laughts by sending slightly erotic pictures. I used links from gif web pages and those $#@^% spyed it and terrorized me with this sick censorship! Inside a f*&#$ private CLOSED group. SICK copmanies! But amazon is many levels above FB from what I already described. Seriously F@$% amazon. And FB is just rarelly used by me for some casual s#(*%* like messenger where I write with my friends that have messenger and sometimes participating in groups activities about car stuff and other things I am interested with.So again I will repeat myself, %@#%$ x1000 this piece of #$^@$%^ amazon c*#t company. It is D E A D to me :)
