As a self claimed decent LB2 player, this guy 20-0d me the other day, at least now i can stop feeling bad about it. We had a few close rounds but I never took a whole set. He also had so much tech I had never seen even on fightcade.

This is my favorite fighting game ever made, since I "pirated" a copy from the internet back in the early 2000's onto my Dreamcast. (Shoutouts to being a teenager and coaxing your parent(s) into giving you allowance to buy empty CDs to burn onto) While other series/games may be "cooler", nothing will ever top the perfection of this game. Even the little things like being able to input a code for EX mode. (POW+SPD, but you have half HP) I wish some characters were a little stronger, but it's an overall masterpiece. A game I personally appreciate MORE than SF3:3rd Strike, or Guilty Gear:X ; My other two favorite games of the era, if not all time. Kojiroh is my favorite character, I just wish her options/gameplan was a little stronger. (She's one of, if not the worst character in the game) But it's okay, Moriya and Washizuka are amazing alternatives when it comes to competitive play. Although, when it comes to competition I find myself playing Hibiki and Setsuna more than anyone else. Happy to see Justin playing and enjoying such a wonderful game. For anyone that wants lots of good footage, the A-Cho JP arcade KZbin channel has tons of tournament footage of this game with strong players.

to guard cancel: b, db, d + D with at least 50% meter. Also, you need to press f + D to parry special moves and supers for whatever reason

That’s actually not true in last blade 2 (it’s a thing in the first last blade game) lb2 will deflect specials/dms/anything not a normal or projectile for the first 4 frames of a deflect (first 6f for hibiki)

i spent all summer playin and fallin in love with last blade 2 . such a deep classic that has a vibe unlike any 2d fighter ive ever played. i just wish the dreamcast version had blood and you could play with the joystick and i would swear by that version as being an undoubted masterpiece.

You did amazing in the last match. The guy loves to tech excessively; that’s his weakness. Plus, when you roll outta the corner and he jumps backwards and heavy slash, then it’s always a cross up… these r LB peculiarities to keep in mind. Pretty sure you’d wipe the floor with him in 3 more matches or so

@Adam Lannerd its a infinite loop but the damage cap is around 140%hp (100% from one life bar and 40% of the second). So you cant finish someone with full life, but infinite combos can easily take 140% everytime

@@NeonAstralOfficial Additionally LB is a game that wasnt popular even in the 90s, because of the tough late 90s competition. Everything was being drastically optimized: MvC1, Sfa3, Ds3, 3s, Kof98, RB2. And there was little room for things like LB and even Motw - that actually didnt make a good impact outside of Jp (not sure about the rest of Asia). I believe even a big classic rerelease with good rollback like would have a lacking regular playerbase. Then imagine the performance of a fg that wasnt even popular back then (well, no need to imagine exactly). Plus, FC is too much established at this point. The fg companies failed to respond to it when it was small, with a good investment on rollback netcode retro releases. Now FC is a monster and it's evolving.
