Funnily enough, I’ve been running a variation of dragon link with red eyes where the main goal is setting up as many flare metals as possible with a couple interruptions and watch my opponent burn to death. It’s very satisfying.

Disagree, Chaos Angel is mid AF in Dragons, easy cut in most lists when Dis Pater comes out and honestly Red Hot and Barrone are arguably better … if Angel didn’t target it could cover up the decks weakness but it sadly does

Well, with Kashtira, Purrely, and Mikanko there are a lot of Kaijus et al. going around, so at least for now you're making the right call there. However, against some decks Borrelend is just a win condition. His protection isn't perfect but decent and he hits hard and often.
