For future hunts, if you need a specific mass outbreak to spawn you just need to put on a lvl. 2 encounter sandwich of the type of pokemon you're looking for and stand in an area that the habitat page for your pokemon shows as highlighted, save, open your map and start a cycle of going to the date and time settings, not changing anything, just closing the page with the OK button and opening the game to see the new outbreaks. You should be seeing more outbreaks of that type in the area you're in and you're likely to find your desired pokemon much more quickly. This is also the reason why many outbreaks feel as far more common, ones like Glimmet, Bronzong, Rufflet, Flittle, Varoom... they're the ones that will spawn no matter what area you're in.

Game designer here- 11:48 That’s not a texture change that’s a material change! ☺️ textures are the colours and patterns on the model, and they’re changed for every shiny Pokémon, but the metallic properties of the model are from the material!

You could just do the isolated method for most Pokémon, like for Flamigo. It probably would've been much easier and faster to get. Sometimes the outbreaks can suck for certain Pokémon, that's why it's better to do the isolated method imo. Also I'm so sorry that you spent so many hours trying to get the shiny starters 😭 That must've sucked so much. I wanna eventually get the shiny starters too but I'm worried I'll also get super unlucky. There's no way I can hatch eggs for as long as you did. I will cry

Shiny Hunting tip: Send out your Pokémon to auto-battle the wild ones. If your Pokémon comes across a Shiny, it will refuse to attack it. This is really useful for spotting small Shiny Pokémon or Pokémon with difficult Shiny colors to spot, like Tandemaus or Tadbulb.

Only the evolution item for armarogue is version exclusive, if you'd like to get one with your OT at another point you can just trade for a pokemon holding it's evo item like flapple and appletun in swsh. (I think the way you did it is fair too though)

Sadly the ditto, zorua and zoroark outbreaks are broken still but there are special spots for them, zorua around medali as single mabostiff, zoroark in that forest by the lake i think and ditto by the porto thingy lighthouse i think. You probably already got the shiny (i hope) but if not use this or search it up

idk if it's just me but shiny locking pokemon seems more like gamefreak being too lazy to make shinies than an actual intentional thing. No one ever said "I hate shiny legendaries" Shiny locking imo is stupid no matter what it is. I would love to shiny hunt legendaries or every now and then see a shiny pokemon in a trainers team. Me personally, I see literally no reason for shiny locking legendaries than the team being too lazy to make shinies for them. (although they locked starters too? mb something else) Like why lol. They make an entire system that makes shiny hunting more accessible than ever and then shiny lock the few pokemon that people actually want to shiny hunt. Although I've also got some other opinions that a lot of people tend to disagree with so mb it is just me. Like I refuse to believe that sandwiches and these insane odds are somehow "good" for the future of shiny pokemon, with pokemon home I think these gams have ruined them. Over just a few years shiny pokemon have lost value by like 10-20x. Shiny hunting used to take like min 5 hours and people would be like "wow you're so crazy lucky, can't believe you got it in only 1 hour". Now people will be like "damn unlucky that it took you a whole hour to get that", because there are vids out there that will genuinely be able to get you a shiny in about 10 mins and that is INSANE. Not only are the shiny rates insane, we also have overworld shinies, and just in general overworld spawns which are crazy fast compared to encounters. I've seen people say "i'm glad they did it, I have work and no time" yada yada. Like sure, good for you, that shiny you got is still a lot less special and a lot less rare and meaningful. Shiny hunts in scarlet and violet on avg take about half as much time or even less than authentic sinistea hunting in pokemon swsh. At the moment shiny hunting might seem crazy good, but down the line when pokemon home is connected to all the pokemon games, shiny pokemon are going to be meaningless and not exciting to see other people or yourself with. When you play with someone and see that they have a shiny you go "wow that's so cool" because you forget that it legit took them 30 mins. The truth is I just personally don't get the shiny rush any more, I've tried doing it without the crazy methods but it still meant basically nothing to me seeing as though only I knew it. In this playthrough I got more of a rush when I hunted authentic sinistea because that was genuinely harder than a shiny hunt which blows my nostalgic brain.
