I found this game so much more fun when you just slow down. Instead of running straight from point A to B I just walked in areas let my Pokémon out and let them play in water ext. it just felt better to not fly around everywhere and just be more “grounded”

As soon as I started the game, I saw sandygast and knew i needed a shiny one. Its got such a beautiful and eerie shiny. After an hour and a half of just using a ground type sandwich, I got my shiny sandygast and named her "Sand-Ghastle". Shes essential to my team and she was my first shiny in Violet 💛🖤💙

Just a hint for anyone playing Scarlet and Violet. If you are in the tunnels, wiggle your camera around too look in the walls or use the lock on feature to scan the walls. The ground extends quite a bit out, and even the ceiling counts as a spawn-able area. First time in the tunnels, I noticed movement above me, and it was a salandit. I decided to check the walls, and I found a female salandit within the walls. The respawns seem to be slow, because they are spawning out of view on the other side of the walls.

I've gotten 2 shinies so far and they were within half an hour of each other. The first was a Rockruff, and I no joke had to cover my mouth to squeal because it was so late at night and I didn't want to wake up my neighbors. PSA for you and anyone else out there in a similar situation: Just wanna let you know, there IS an option in the option menu if this game to turn off the prompt you get when a Pokemon in your party wants to learn a new move. Normally, I think it's better to leave the prompt on but in your specific scenario, where you have a bunch of baby Pokemon leveling up and learning lots of stuff quickly, that's when it's best to turn those off.. Unfortunately, there's still no mass release option which is BS imo... PLA had that option! Why would you not implement that?! It can't be too hard to do! 😖

Probably because the focus on PLA was catching to build up the entire pokedex, in every other game you only need one of each pokemon to complete that specific pokemons dex entry, hence, no need for mass release.

The first I started with is the froslass with a mass outbreak coincidentally which was also my favorite since gen 4 was my first pokemon and on my way to it I encountered a shiny Bronzong and after 40+ min on outbreak I finally got a shiny froslass. hey noki, just a tip about releasing pokemon, if you use pokemon home you can release multiple, i know it doesnt work for scarlet and violet yet but maybe it can be useful sometime

16:12 Not being able to mass release Pokemon is annoying but a somewhat faster way to do this is by having the Pokemon in the party, and as you release the Pokemon it automatically goes up so you can release another Pokemon again. 18:24 Another tip, you can turn off move relearn so you don't have to go through all that dialogue. The issue comes in if the Pokemon reaches evolution requirement.

Noki, I'm watching this late bc I wanted to beat the game before watching any videos on it, but you can turn move learning off in the settings! Then it'll just go in the Pokemon's repetoire of moves and you can adjust them later. It helps prevent all that move learning if you forget to swap out newly hatched Pokemon!

My god if this game was on a stronger console it would be amazing. It is extremely fun and the story (Unlike most pokemon games) is great and makes sense. The fact that you, Arven, Nemona, and Penny take on the wild area together makes sense. Penny is one of if not the best hacker in the reigon, you and nemona are canonically the strongest trainers in Paldea (nemona beat the champion while holding back) and well its literally Avrens parent.

I remember just thinking if shinies were actually seeable and if there was an indicator of them as I went through the first area, and just as I wondered that I saw an Azurill that was... oddly green under that tree by the stream. Battled it to double-check and now I have the bouncy green little fellow. Ended up with like five shinies by now, all randomly stumbled into. Without the shiny charm and all that. I ALSO have a shiny cetoddle, and I really, really wasn't sure if it was different or just in the shade of the tree it was under, but I was never happier about checking something.
