Wow, 130 PSI. The ride would be very rough. I’ve been running super singles on Volvo and Scania for many years now, pulling a road train combo in Australia, and I run super single steer tyres at 85 PSI based on Michelin technical advice. Although we only run 6.5 - 7 tonne on the steer axle. I find it very curious that Michelin tyre pressure recommendations vary so much between countries. Also been running 90 PSI on the drives for years. I use an auto tyre inflation system on the drives that keeps them at 90 PSI regardless of outside temperature.

Really nice of Michelin to do this for you. Sure, it's marketing for them, and the cost is negligible as far as they're concerned, but come on - they're Michelin. We all know who they are. Heck, I have Michelin tyres on my car. They don't need extra exposure, so kudos to them for reaching out. Trevor seems like a very nice chap, and very well versed on their product, glad they have these kind of people on the front lines. Trust me, I've dealt with reps in my field of work who didn't know their... well, you get the idea.

Hello mate . When I ordered my last truck, I had to pay an extra of 2500€ to get it fit with Michelin so , gor the first time of my " career " as an owner driver ( since 04/ 1987 ) I decide to choose something else and run for Hancook. 180 000 kms on the front axle and 280 000 on the back one .I run fridge trailer between Brittany and east of France , that mean mix of motorway and B road , most of time 38 to 42 tons when leaving and very often close to 45 on my way back . Now I put Michelin again and hope I' ll do at least the same mileage 🤞. P.S : My truck is now a 650 Scania , good vehicle 👍, 385 / 55 on front and 315/ 70 back . Please to watch you soon on your next vidéo. Greatings from Brittany.

It's interesting 385 is considered a heavy haul or dump truck tire here in the USA I believe its because of the shorter wheelbase putting more weight on the steer axle on euro trucks
@BjarneRousing3 жыл бұрын
Here in Denmark are almost all steer and single wheels 385 on normal trucks. Here you are allowed to put allmost 20.000 pounds (9000 kg.) on you steering wheels and up to 25000 pound on a drive-axel. with duallys. You are allowed to run 124.000 pound (56 tons) on all normal roads your kingdom with a truck + trailer/pub with up to seven axles.
