What people don't realize is the golf shaft is basically the "engine" of the car. It's what makes the club... The head is obviously important, but I would argue the shaft is much more important. A proper fitting is a great experience.

If you cut the shaft, it’ll be the same story again with the high spin. You have to add 6 grams of weight to the head for every half inch you cut down to keep the swing weight somewhat the same

Swingweight differences won't/shouldn't effect spin. If you're referring to the weight added to the head, you can position it wherever you need it. So if you want a heavier head without increasing spin, you just don't add the weight to the back of the head.

Hey Micah. I was struggling with my game to. What helped me was a mental issue. I would constantly get angry and once I do I make mistakes one after the other. I learned to control myself mentally by not allowing a mistake upset me. What I learned from a martial arts instructor is he said that "An angry mind is a narrow mind" so relax brother ease your mind and build a mental discipline to avoid getting angry. Take your time and make sure every shot you take you are comfortable doing so. It changed my game for the better cause I'm beginning to shoot more under par then 10 over par. I truly it can help you through your struggle. I believe in you, your fans believe in you, and now you need to believe in your self.

i got a st180 today, i love that thing. maybe it is becauase it is my first premium (ish) golf club, but as an upgrade from a wilson box set driver(200-240 total), i have only hit it on a net but it feels another 20 yrds, ill see tomorow if i actually get another 20, but exited to take it on the course none the less

I definitely appreciate indoors vs outdoors differences are from driver fittings of my own. I get fitted outdoors. Different ball game. Especially at my course. 30 mph wind is normal.

Nothing about a monitor versus the course can take away the fact that Micah swings smooth and under control here not even 100% hard as he can and he’s still averaging over 180 mph ball speed. That’s well above tour average and he’s not even 6 foot tall. The distance numbers he admits are because the Golf Tec hq is in Denver so the ball goes further at a mile high than back in Texas but nonetheless, Dallas or Denver, this guy would crush it past you all while under control in the middle of the fairway.

As someone who swings in the same speed range as Tig, my SIM wouldn't stop going right until I ordered aftermarket weights and really tinkered with it. For some reason that head is incredible but the stock set up fades it way too much.

Yes Tig, team Mizuno! I've got an ST180 driver, 44inch, stiff, set at 7.5, I love it!! They're so well engineered. I have similar irons to Garret too. That was ridiculous especially the SIM at 404 that’s insane. I would have love to see the tensai white with sim head dialed in with the weights. I think you could be getting long drive numbers. But I’m not the expert and I will say you can’t go wrong with Mizuno in any club they just do things right. Keep it up Tig and I know it’s been a thought but with that swing and timing you have mixed with the right setup and a little training and you could be the next Kyle “wow he hit that literally 1/4 mile” Berkshire. I recently picked up a 7.5° Hogan driver that I am getting reshafted to a Stiff in hopes to get my ball flight out of the clouds.

So I quickly looked up the effect of altitude on driving distance and here's some interesting things. At higher altitude you actually want more spin as the air is thinner and therefore you need more spin to keep the ball up. Additionally you gain about 2.5 yards per 1000 feet of elevation. Denver is about 5280 above sea level and Dallas is 430 so Tigs numbers were only juiced by about 12 yards. However that's really only with the driver that was almost getting 400 yards because that driver was spinning close to 3k which is good for Denver but bad for Dallas. I wouldn't be surprised if Tigs full distance off the tee back in Dallas will be in the 375 range because whatever yards he loses because of the altitude he'll make up with his spin being correct. I mean he was hitting it 350 with a driver that was way over spinning to begin with. That's all to say that the numbers in the launch monitor weren't all that juiced. I mean 12 yards is a lot but people thinking Tig's 380 yards is really 320 in Dallas are just wrong. Get this man on the long distance tour for real.

I think they are in Denver over 5000 feet elevation. The launch monitor is calibrated for that elevation as well. They said it in the video. The ball goes at least 10% farther up there. 380 in Denver is like 340 at sea level. Still long but not crazy long. Tig's ball speed is low 180s. You're not hitting it 380 with his speed and launch conditions.

@@joenixon8745 You can look up ball speed vs carry distance and it's pretty unanimous that under around ideal launch conditions (which Tigs is pretty close with this new driver) 180 mph ball speed is around 300 carry. Middle of the summer Dallas that's rolling out to 350+ every day of the week. If he was trying to swing out of his shoes he can probably touch 190 mph which is 320ish carry and 370+ total. Not to mention Bryson uses a longer shaft. Even if he's not getting Bryson numbers he's well over tour average in ball speed. An article I read said that there's about a 2.5 yard increase per 1000ft of elevation which means the elevation is only adding roughly 12 yards. Even being pessimistic and doubling it is only 25 yards.
