So this is the end of my road trip series and my final stop was Amsterdam! I filmed over 2 days and had a lot of fun until the end. I was robbed at knifepoint by 2 guys in Amsterdams red light district.
In this video I show you footage of my 1st day in Amsterdam, where I pretty much walked through the entire city. I left the campsite and started the walk in the red light district, then headed to Dam Square, and then onto central station before heading back across to the red light district for a beverage.
The following day was amazing. I met some great people and had such a perfect end to my trip. That was until I was walking back late at night to find a cab. I was confronted by 2 guys who stole my camera.

Bloody hell dude, people are dicks! At least you are OK, it’s so not worth loosing your life over a camera. Maybe you need a spare key and backup phone in the safe. Get a key that can’t start the van but open the door in a secret key safe location on the van. Better to be prepared just in case and then you might not have to worry too much about not having the van or a phone. Thanks for laughs dude been good to watch apart from this one :(

He refused to hand over his camera after one of these scallies wanted it after saying my friend had caught him on a picture he'd just took by a bridge around that area. You definitely made the right decision.

You did the right thing Adam. It's not worth risking your life for. Things can be replaced, your life can't. Lucky they didn't get your van keys or want your phone. I'd carry a cheap second phone with a few contacts in case of an emergency, and maybe a second van key hidden on your person. Most remotes have a compartment with an emergency key. Keep the key separate with you, if that's an option. Love what you do. Keep going.

Dude, I'm so sorry to hear that. Before said incident, that last day sounded amazing. You're probably right in not having tried to grab the camera back. All sorts of other awful things could have happened. It wasn't worth the risk. Although we didn't get to see your night out with Sophie, you've got those memories, and nothing can take that away from you. Good to see that you're safe and well. If anything, this warrants a trip back there to see Sophie again and have another night out on the town, albeit with a clearer and safer plan to get out of there. Thanks for these great videos. I've enjoyed watching your whole trip. Gutted for you that it ended on that sour note. However, it's good to see you've got some new kit and are keen to crack on the with the next project. Cheers.

Love your channel and its rapid growth is deserved (I have a van too). Sorry to hear this story. I work in Amsterdam for 1 week every year and its a great City. I got robbed in 1993 in France on a motorbike tour of Europe - pre mobile phones and youtube and really the internet was in its infancy - I lost all my 6 rolls of film of my journey so far on my trip - no video - All I cared about was the film rolls. We scoured the beach that we were sleeping on when robbed (slept on the beach as we had no money left) and miraculously found every roll of film - whoever robbed us just discarded the stuff they didn't want.! All i wanted was the photos - stuff can be replaced. this episode resonated with that and took me back - glad you weren't hurt ! Filming around there always going to be sketchy TBH but top Job on making a great episode out of a bad situation (as a fellow content creator I really get it and know how much work it is to do). Shouldn't be so upset that the footage is lost. That day was actually a blessing. That day wasn't for us, it was just for you and the people around you. You won't forget any of these lessons in a hurry because they had a high enough cost. Be happy you're alright. Develop a cunning plan to protect what you value most. Van key, memory cards etc. Make a good hiding place. Equipment can be replaced. Life above all else. Respect for getting out of it safely. I've enjoyed your journey again. Adam, You absolutely did the right thing to defuse the situation and get out of there. I know how you feel about the lost footage. On my first trip across America and back in the day when cameras had film, I photographed the trip from Florida to New Mexico. While having lunch in a small restaurant someone I was talking to picked up my camera and mistakenly opened the back, exposing the film and I lost all those photos. I still feel a little bad when I think about it but what are you going to do? Stuff happens and you survived a very scary situation. I love your trips and videos and look forward to them. Keep on keeping on Adam and I’ll keep watching!

Hi Adam. Thanks for sharing this, such a pity but as you say could have been a lot worse. As a tip, I have secured the spare key to my van to the chassis in a waterproof lockbox. So if you ever lose your keys you can access the spare set. They’ve been there for 4 years now and still work perfectly. All the best and Merry Christmas when it arrives mate 💪😊

All in all , what a fantastic outcome! You walked away intact. Were able to get a good night sleep in the comfort of your van. And easily replaced your camera. Move forward, just as you are doing. Count your blessings. What a fantastic trip! Apart from the camera being nicked.

You did the right thing material things can be replaced but you can't. My son is currently on a trip around Oz and I always tell him if anything happens hand it over and we will deal with it after and whilst it is a horrible experience to go through time will pass and the memory of it will fade and life will give you more happy things than bad .
