Just an FYI .. Nike is pronounced... NI KEY.... not Nike like Mike. I have had Nike clubs before and in my opinion, they were not good clubs at all, but since Tiger played them, we all bought into the hype of them. As soon as I dropped the Nike clubs I bought Callaway's and have been playing those ever since. Hope your baby is doing well.

Last year, I purchased the Miura MP-101, from 5 iron to pitching wedge and saved about $500 US. The used clubs were not even scratched. I bought them from 2nd Swing golf in the US.

When I first started to play, in 2003, I bought myself an Aldi set. Pretty quickly I noticed that the driver, 3- &5-Wood were impossible to hit. I bought a new driver (Cleveland Launcher with a green Aldila NV-S shaft), which I loved until my buddy used it buried into the ground trying to wallop the living daylights out of it, broke it, and the head flew off in the water!) a second hand 4-wood (Callaway 17-degree, which was awful off the deck, I just couldn’t hit it), and a second hand Dunlop (!) 2-Hybrid (19 degrees R-shaft, which I regripped the other day, put back in the bag for a few rounds and STILL absolutely love).

As a new golfer (started this year), I definitely opted to go second hand clubs. Didn’t make sense to get fitted since I don’t have an established swing yet and the cost of new clubs is egregious to me. That being said I’ve picked up essentially two full sets of clubs for under $1,000 and have found a combination that works well for me after having gotten a few lessons. I’ll be keeping the irons of the second set but will be reselling the rest that didn’t suit my developing swing and game. @@bstearn1653so far I like them, nice feel, they look good and they strike consistently. The finish is holding up well. I’m a pretty new golfer so I do miss strike the 60° and skull it a lot but the 52° and 56° are solid for a GW and SW

Until recently, all my golf clubs were second hand. My best buy was a set of Nike VR-S Covert 2 forged irons I got for a steal; I found them online set up exactly in my specs, right shafts, right lie angles, even my preferred grips... and nearly mint as well. Those were amazing clubs and I regret selling them a bit. I think the real beauty of used clubs for low prices is that it leaves money in the budget for either lessons or just playing more. When you're starting out or trying to improve, those are keys, and spending less on clubs lets you do more of both.

I always wanted to have a set of Taylormade RAC MB irons. Very rare to find in lefty. I had Nike Covert 2.0 Pro for a short time. Got it cheap, sold it quick 😄

All I ever had were second hand clubs, but I love them. I have a few sets of 70-80s Wilson blades and love the Macgregor Muirfields irons. My daily irons are Mizuno mp 14 and mp 32s combo set. I have for wood always had some old big bertha warbirds 3 and 7 woods. Putters $2 Ping Zing. Drivers are varied, always struggled with them.

All vitriol for Nike clubs aside, the Nike VR Forged Split Cavity irons I had were the best irons I've ever owned with the exception of my current Mizuno JPX. Very playable and felt great.

I use 2nd Swing here in the states, I’ve bought 2 putters, 52, 56, 60 wedges, 5 wood 3 hybrid n 2 putters Very happy n saved big bucks

James i heard you mention a cobra baffler in the video. I ditched the 3 wood about 3 years ago. I just struggle with it off the deck. (Operator error for sure). This summer i found an older baffler 3 wood in a pawn shop called a rail F for 20 bucks. Put a grip on it and danged if i can't hit it pretty well. It had a low profile and the head seems a bit flatter and elongated than other 3 woods. 3 woods back in the bag again. Love 2nd hand clubs. Great video buddy.

I did a review myself on the Nike Vapor pro blades this year…. Definitely need more forgiviness for myself, but feel wise they were awesome. I’ve always had mizunos in the bag and the Nikes were right up there with them for how soft they felt out the middle! Lovely clubs!

Got myself a Whitehot OG 1 putter off of that site and it's been fantastic, I'll definately be upgrading the rest of my bag as I feel I need to off of there.

The only second hand club I have bought is my odyssey mallet putter that I bought in the early 2000's. It was a great buy though. The person was switching to the new 2 ball and I got it for $50 in perfect shape. It's still in my bag, just has a new grip. Other clubs were bought when on sale (cobra mb/cb 3-PW $850 new) (Cobra F8 $150 when new) (Cleveland 56 and 60, each when on sale through cleveland). Need to add a 2 iron and swap out my 3 wood (VRS)...Currently 215 with the 3 iron and 250 with the 3 wood, but don't like the feel of the vrs

I have bought 3 sets of second hand clubs and various odd woods and hybrids from GCFCash. I also bought my current set from them. Wilson launch pad 2020 hybrid irons 5-pw. I have filled the set with second hand clubs driver 3,5,7 woods 3 hybrid and 4 iron and gap and sand wedges all launch pad.

I bought a Nike driver just like that one ( loved the red finish) from American golf on the premise that I could hit it further than my then Callaway driver. The shaft was very light 50 something grams? I sold it some years later quite quickly and went the whole hog a bought a brand new Cobra costing a lot. Is the Cobra any better ie are my scores going down do I drive it further? NO I DONT. It actually proves that it doesn’t matter what a high handicap senior golfer uses the scores do not improve. Your father will know what I am talking about. Great video James. Entertaining as usual.

Well....I have a set of clubs that were very popular in 2008, although I used a connection to get the irons and fairway woods and driver, fitted to my standards...I am 6'6" and need longer steel shafts, more of Senior Flex, and the fairways woods had the same shafts. The Irons were all 1.5 " inches longer, the irons were 3° upright and 3° stronger, men's medium sized grip with 3 wraps of tape on each club. And...they are Nike Slingshot Irons! I love them! I hit them longer and straighter than any set of irons I have ever owned! The first round I played with them, I had 3 birdies from under 4 feet from the pin and hit every fairway with Nike Driver. I shot a 74, 2 over par on a course I had never played! Not too bad for a guy carrying 5 at the time!

I bought a set of Lynx Black Cat with Flare Shafts. I loved them I had trouble with the glue on the heads. I called Lynx and asked them what to do and they said there was and issue and the told me to shipped them back when I received the brand new set they sent me free of charge.

Every club in my bag is second hand but this allows me to have decent clubs on a very limited budget. Scotty putter, vokey sm8 wedges p790 4-pw and p790udi 2 iron. SIM max 5w and Mavrik 9degree driver with hzrdous smoke 6.0 shaft. No club cost more than £150, full set £1150. Same cost as the irons I have with my shaft option new.

My best secondhand golf buy is a set of Callaway Legacy Irons currently in the bag. Very difficult to get these but worth the effort. Was fitted for a set of Nike irons a few years ago and they lasted 4 months.

I still play my Nike VR 21 degree hybrid, likely my favorite club. Such a crisp feel, goes very well and I can work it both directions. Modern hybrids feel like hitting a lump of plastic in comparison. Nike made some duds for sure, but they also made some fantastic clubs.

I have loads of clubs but I love playing with a cheap half set of thrifted clubs. One set consists of a beaten up Ben Sayers putter from the 60’s is 👌🏼. TopFlite XL 2000 irons, 6-8-PW. A Cleveland 55° wedge. A Taylormade Supersteel 7-wood and a Big Bertha 3-wood. 10£ total. 50£ with new grips.

Only trouble buying second hand is the extra cost to have them re gripped, so add an extra £10 per club to get them re gripped, and then not far off buying a brand new set,

Used, pre-owned, second hand, that's all I ever owned. Lots too. I'd like to see James hit one of those black stealthy looking Nike Vapor fly pro irons, a 2 or 3 iron like Brooks and Tony Finu still carry to this day. Certain Nike golf clubs have a cult like following here stateside.

I have only purchased 2nd hand clubs so far and love my clubs. Let's be honest, the technology in clubs doesn't change much over a short period of time. With that said if you can find your specs in clubs that are around 3-4 years you can get an amazing deal for great clubs.

There's loads of value out there. Unless you've money to burn spending 2k on a set of clubs is mad. I'm still using an entire set costing about 500 from 10 years or so ago. Cobra amp forged, m2 driver. The only club I change is the putter and I top out at about £100. Currently an awesome ping 2021 anser
