The noise reduction got nerfed on both the Max and 1st gen Pros because Apple got sued by patent trolls. The iPhone 13 and 14 also have worse noise reduction on calls because of the same lawsuit. Also bonus fun fact, the lanyard hook was added because they needed needed an antenna for the case and they figured they’d give it a dual purpose.

I only have the 1st gen Pros, but the ANC is fantastic. In transparency mode, I have literally forgotten I was wearing them. It's not _quite_ perfect -- you can still hear the difference between live and Memorex -- but it has clearly been tuned with care. I love it when something complex is so unremarkable that it is remarkable.

One of the things I find improves spatial audio with music is changing the Spatial audio from “follow head” to “Fixed.” It gives you the spatial effect, but it doesn’t ruin the music if you are moving your head around. Also Frank is the best 🐍 SNOOT

I’ve had these for about a week now and, I can say they’re so good (I upgraded directly from Gen 2 AirPods). As someone whose hearing is slowly but surely diminishing, the Transparency mode instantly made me happy! I can hear so, so well with Transparency mode on it’s insane! The Noise Cancellation is fantastic too, especially when you’re getting annoyed with people who talk noticeably louder than others. Also, the bass is really rich on them. I cannot recommend them enough!

I have to say, Apple have been pretty straight-up about the low-bass/anc problem that was with the first-generation AirPods. Took mine in with a few days left on the recall program, and they just swapped them straight over for new ones. They were well out of guarantee, something like two years out of guarantee in-fact, so I'm pretty chuffed. Will probably try and afford the new ones at some point, when the pound eventually recovers from its severe nosedive.

Honestly I bought these the day they released in shops. These are noticeably better than the previous model. They kept all the good stuff and added even more, and as an audiophile the sound is GOOD. If an “audiophile” says “ehh the sound is bad” they’re lying these are perfect for their purpose: portable, quality tws buds. I prefer their sound to Sony’s WF1000XM4 (I hate the fact I remember that) it’s just more…… free? Have no idea how to explain it better

If anyone has Xiaomi (or Poco) smartphone and Samson SR-850 headphones, then try this: go to Settings -> Sound & Vibration -> Sound Effects -> 'Enable' Mi Sound Enhancer -> 'Select' Mi Noise Cancelling Type-C, crank the volume a bit and try some of your favourite rock or metal songs with this setup. This enhances the bass and sub-bass, and makes the drum sounds (toms and kick) way more prominent, in a good way, I feel.

I got the DT 770s (80 Ohm) in mid-January 2022. I absolutely love them! And although they weren't as comfortable as my old headphones (Bose AE2 audio headphones) at first, they kind of adapted to my head, and now I almost don't feel the extra weight (Beyerdynamic: ~300g vs Bose: ~150g), because the ear cups are so different (hard but very soft, I have a hard time describing them xD). I also think that their sound profile is awesome (a bit more bass and I think a tighter, more analytic sound than my Bose). What I want to say is: awesome recommendation at 9:11 Edit: snoot.

Saying it again, the mic itself isn't really the reason for crappy mic sounds on wireless, so much as mic placement. The more towards the front of your mouth they are, the better, and beam forming can only do so much. That's why gaming headsets, wireless or not, often have the mic on a stick right up to your mouth.

I started with the LG necklace buds. They were convenient (if you don't mind wearing a plastic torc everywhere), fit nicely in my ears, sounded tinny, and offered garbled phone call quality for both parties on the line. I upgraded to the Sennheiser CX True Wireless, and they offer great phone call quality for both parties on the line, sound clear and crisp, offer a wide sound stage with plenty of instrument separation (compared to the crappy LGs, and I tried both the ones that were tuned by Harmon Kardon and the ones tuned by JBL--didn't matter; they both sucked), virtually no bass, every single outside sound leaking in to compete with the music, and a laughably bad fit such that I am constantly pushing them back into my ears even on a casual stroll at the park. I switched from a Galaxy Note 9 to an iPhone 14 ProMax and switched earbuds to the Airpod Pro 2 to go with it, and I will never, ever look back. These sound surprisingly good, fit snugly in my ears even when violently shaking my head in an effort to make them fall out, have great phone call quality, and block outside noise so that I can enjoy what I'm listening to. Sure, they cost a bit more than twice the Sennheisers, but they work 10x better.

I have the DT 770 Pro 80 Ohm. Got them for music production, but man. They are built like a tank. I've used them daily for like... 2 years? I always use them at my pc which is so many hours a day, and no problem. I try to not run over the cable by attaching it elsewhere. Also despite being dropped on the floor a few times (it's like unavoidable with your daily use PC headphones) they didn't even get a dent. Still holding up very well, and that even goes for the cushioning. I can use them on anything, even smartphone without even having to crank it high, but the 2-3 meter long cable makes it unusable on the bus for example. At least, without modding it. Beyerdynamic has spare parts for these silly things as well, so you can replace any piece if you want/need to, which is super. They really are made for heavy use. Sure, they are flat so they aren't bass heavy if you're looking for that, but I bet you could use an EQ since these babies have such clarity of the bass and sub range (though you have to crank it a bit to really hear sub 20-30Hz or such). Music like Rezz and other bass music is super fun on these despite being flat, much because of the impact and fun of the bass while also having crisp and not too sharp treble!

I have the original pros, but my girlfriend’s birthday is coming up and I am unsure of if I should get the last stock of the originals or buy her the new ones. Either way, I think you should review or compare the Sony SRS NS7 and the smaller SRS NB10’s, as folks like me hate the feeling of having to wear bulky headphones or stick something in my ear, especially when having to hear things in public.

Speaking as one of those couriers who always has them in, the AirPods Pro 1s are the best I've used. In fact, due to their low weight and how then hang in the ear, they're the only ones I've found that I can wear when it's hot out and not get horrible ear rashes. Even as an Android user, they're so good that I don't care about the features I don't get. Actually, seeing the Max update stuff, it seems like my inability to update firmware is a good thing. I do think I'll upgrade to the Pro 2s at some point. I'm literally using them all day long, so the better noise cancelling, sound quality, and pass-through mode make them worth getting. At least, I hope so.
