Android users are treated as second class citizens, you want to send an email from your corporate email, better find a laptop or workstation . You want to join a zoom call , sorry but we cant let you use Bluetooth earphones . you want to login with your phone, Nah use your id and pretend its 1999

As a lawyer, I just can't use an iPhone. Okay, I get it, it's better in several ways, makes some tasks a lot easier, and within the Apple ecosystem, it feels magical. But for my routine and line of work, it just doesn't work. I'm using a Fold 4 for about a year and a half. The first feature that alone made me a Samsung convert is the automatic call recorder. Having recordings of everything said on a call is a lifesaver in my legal practice. Using two apps at the same time is amazing, and I simply can't go back to a single-app view. At the end of the day, it's the same old story: there's no single best device. There's the one that fits our needs better. For me, at least for now, it will have to be a Samsung flagship. And I have to say, I've become addicted to your content! Please, continue this amazing work!

"As a lawyer"...🤣🤣🤣 gotta be honest man, maybe because I work in tech, but the absolute dumbest people I've met when it comes to understanding anything new (let alone technology) were lawyers. I've seen people in your line of work stick to the oldest pieces of technology for the dumbest reasons. There was head of counsel few years ago that didn't know you could download Whatsapp in his phone and use it simultaneously with iMessage, and because of that reason he was using a 6 year old phone that "came with Whatsapp" LMAO. And we couldn't make him change, despite being a massive security risk.

I use both Apple products and Samsung/google products. Personally I never experienced any issues with app availability on Android other than some Apple specific apps. But I am no filmmaker or photographer. I think apps have improved drastically on Android during the last few years compared to how it used to be. And if you are into open source apps there is a huge library there as well which you will never be able to get on iOS. In terms of bad apps, I have seen a lot of pretty horrible apps, but that goes for both iOS and Android.

Agreed, I can't think of a single app on my iPhone that I use regularly that I can't get on my Pixel. At the same time, as someone who has a homelab who hosts a lot of their own services, there are A LOT of open-source apps only available for Android. So for me it's actually the reverse situation lol

I use Apple for work (Company issued phone) and Android for personal. The restrictions on Apple is the most frustrating part of using iPhone. iPhone doesn't have DEX or an easy accessible file system. iPhone and its accessories are expensive while my Samsung Galaxy S23FE does everything and more than the iPhone. I cant side load apps on my iPhone while I can on my Samsung. My Samsung allows for customizable icon packs along with different launchers. With the last update, Android offers live translation during phone calls.
@voteDC
@voteDC 4 ай бұрын
In absolute fairness you can sideload apps onto an iPhone, it's just a pain in the arse to actually do. You need a free Apple Developer account and an app on your computer like Sideloadly. You can then sideload .ipa files but only three at a time and you need to refresh them every seven days.
@Jbrimbelibap
@Jbrimbelibap 4 ай бұрын
@@voteDC I would probably get through the pain of doing that If I had an iPhone, but that's complete bullshit. You shouldn't need to leave the phone to install an app If I'm using my PC to install stuff on my phone, it's probably that I'm installing fucking windows 11 for arm on a Poco X3 Pro or reinstalling my whole operating system Also the generally more powerful iPhones don't even have any good emulators so that power is just sort of wasted
@voteDC
@voteDC 4 ай бұрын
@@Jbrimbelibap I have an old iPhone SE (2016) that I messed around with sideloading on and it really wasn't worth the effort. Now that Apple are allowing emulators onto the App Store I'd actually consider an iPhone for my next device. I have a Poco X3 Pro and I've been looking into Project Renegade. It's a lot more daunting than sideloading a .ipa onto an iPhone.

I actually genuinely switched last year. I used the pixel 7 pro for a couple months then paid extra to switch to the galaxy s23 ultra since the pixel battery life became abysmal for some reason. I ended up switching back to iPhone and got the 15 pro max around Christmas time so I was on android for about 10 months. Using the phone itself was as you said fun. Being able to customize your phone themes and Home Screen, having a variety of apps for different uses to choose from. Feeling like my phone was more of a multitool type of device at times, its was pretty neat. Then what happened was I got a MacBook after not having one for several years. The difference in fluidity and ease of using apps and services on Macos compared to android made the "fun" part of using the android phone go away. After a while when the novelty of the customization options and extra features wained, then I really started to notice how much the apps stuttered, or how they were missing some standard features like dark mode. I noticed how video quality wasn't as good. Then my sister had my niece and trying to coordinate the family group chat and share photos and videos even got worse. On top of all of that the great battery life the S23 Ultra had for some reason diminished and I noticed it would start to hang and overheat while I was using it the same way as before. Android phones were my first smartphones and I had one up until the iPhone X came out. I think though now with my current job and lifestyle, I feel old savying this, but it's more important that my phone be consistently good than sometimes amazing. I'm okay not having a stylus or a 100x zoom , or a bigger screen either if it means my phone will take consistently good photos and videos and apps will do what they're supposed to every time.

I am not living in USA (Apple nation), currently full Android (Galaxy A54 and Tab S9), I feel okay with what I have since no one is using iMessage unless they want to flex. And since majority are using Android, Android app is good.... until it is not. I had an iPad 9th a tablet before my Tab S9. Everything just works... especially Printing. How come tablet with half the price has better UX... e-commerce shows delivery status, widget acts immediately. It is something you realized since I thought, I buy more expensive tablet with better hardwares, it should run as good as or even better than my old iPad.

@Juicemanee I don’t think they’re lackluster at all, I have both a Samsung and an iPhone. I do however get reminded how closed the iPhone is. Using non-Apple products is difficult, which I don’t find with my Samsung. My iPhone has to go through Apple’s software to transfer anything from a non-Apple device. I can’t usually get an App to do certain task that an iPhone can’t, I can get that on my Samsung and other Android devices. You really can’t claim it’s lackluster while the iPhones still have key issues for regular users who aren’t spending tons of money for more products to improve their experience.

Then which phone do you think is compatible with newer app version? That's the reason why it just works. Android phones almost always not on its latest OS version. Even if Samsung promise 4 years support you can never expect it to get update on time. I use iPhone too just because of the security, video and simplicity, can't imagine troubleshooting my phone.. But I main Windows and Linux, because phone is prebuilt and many expect prebuilt to work flawlessly, like TV's, but android... It's like Linux, constant troubleshooting, installed an app, doesn't work, why? No answer unlike in Linux, either way rebuild the app if there's the source or you don't have a choice but to wait.

Your video was great-thank you! Also, congratulations on your full transition to KZbin video creation! - Samsung has a dedicated automation app similar to iPhone's, and it performs well. - For other phones, several apps have been providing automation tasks since Android's inception-Apple actually borrowed this feature from Android. - Samsung laptops offer the same synchronization features. If you're using other phones with Windows, the synchronization is still quite good. - Challenges arise when using a mix of devices like a MacBook, iPad, AirPods, Android phone, and Android watch. It's a bit painful but still manageable through Google sync and file transfers via the ARC app (speaking from experience as a user). - With the new Windows on ARM featuring built-in ChatGPT, it's possible that Apple could lose its dominance. I hope Apple will introduce AI features at the upcoming WWDC.

First of all very good videos! I have just started watching you! Second, a bit of context for me: I am 37 old, I work in software development and I had a PC since I was 8. I always used Windows, Linux and Android. I respect Apple products for their quality and performance, last year I bought SH a 2015 retina Mac and I love it. But the rest of the devices are Windows(DELL), Linux(DELL) and Android (Samsung S21FE). But I must ask... why is this copy-paste stuff such a deal-braker? How many times to you need to copy from iPhone to Mac or Tablet so fast? You either work on the computer or on a mobile device. And if you really need this stuff.. there are notes in the cloud that sync almost instantaneous. Keep notes for example. Yes is not that fast, but it takes a couple of seconds. Then there is the copy-paste text from the image, I can do this on my Samsung with no problems. Regarding the developer support, in your case it makes sense, I can not argue, but I tried 2 years ago an iPhone 12 and I gave it back after 1 month because of this. I used a finance app that did not have the features that there were on Android. Also I missed the clever routines from Samsung. Apple automation/focus is crap. The files app on Samsung is so good, I can connect to any kind of server remotely, comparing to IOS that lacks support. But.. if someone needs the best video camera , the iPhone has the best, no doubt. If you need custom apps that don't work on Android, sure, get the iPhone. If you want the most fluid experience in UI, I think iPhone is the best here, but not sure any more... Samsung S models are very close. SO I still feel that for the price you pay, you get more phone from a Samsung. My most concern is about Apple philosophy. They charge a LOT of money for the devices and accessories, they give you less freedom (security as an argument) and they know what is better for you. And they make a big deal out of small stuff on their launch events. Oh and their crazy expensive watches look like child watches... I can not switch from my Galaxy Watch 6 Classic..

So, a long time ago I was an iPod Touch user and generally I was very happy about the device. After that for 10 years I used the best Android phones available including HTC M8, Samung S7, Note 8, then Fold 3 and now... I'm writing this comment from iPhone 12 mini. Literally everything works better on iPhone. Starting from phone calls, which open immediately, Teams doesn't have bug which disables your speaker for other apps, Outlook which should be an Android optimised app is million times faster. If you click on notification from the lock screen apps open immediately compared to what I saw in my fold3. I miss the big foldable screen and specially the S-Pen in the Note8, but the reliability is so much better!

I remember trying an iPhone 7 and 13 mini. Holy hell, those phones were atrocious for my usage. There were so many things I couldn't do. I couldn't block ads in KZbin anymore, unless I started paying for it, I couldn't block ads and pop ups efficiently because the browsers are all just mobile safari and it is useless (the extensions on chrome and Firefox are just better), I couldn't run emulators which finally became a thing the other day for iPhones (let's see how long that lasts), I couldn't download apps that Apple doesn't approve of, no torrents, if I torrents an OS how do I get the file? If I downloaded an album in 24 bit I couldn't just listen to it immediately (maybe there was a way but I could not figure it out), no 24 bit flac support, Bluetooth sounded worse because no AptX HD, no LDAC either, storage was a huge problem because file management was worse because of how half butt Apple's implementation is, keyboards sucked and Apple would turn them off in certain instances, face ID during COVID 🤣🤦🏿‍♂️, Apple Maps was the bane of my existence. It also liked being default for many things though it sucked. SIRI IS DUMB. Her stupidity annoyed the hell out of me. That's why he kept talking about automation. Normally I'd just ask Google Assistant to take care of it and we've seen enough comparisons over the years to know that Siri is dumb. Now there's Gemini and Siri is even further behind. The problems this KZbinr went over are definitely real and opened my eyes to how poorly supported Android is on cinematography/videography or whatever but I don't work with this stuff and neither does most people. His parking App needs to be addressed by whatever government officials they have. In South Florida we have maybe 3 and all work wonderfully on all my Android phones and if there is a problem you can use the browser (I had to do this once a couple years ago).

@@orangeyellow-me1pz Yeah. That depends on usage, iPhones were always targeted into creativity market like movie makeing. I personally don't use assistants. In Poland the only one that supports our language is Google Assistant. iPhones had always been in Poland and more and more people use them but Apple is annoyingly reluctant and doesn't support our language. Regarding the codec. Be aware that all Android phones resample audio on playback to 48khz to there's no point for downloading higher sample rate for them. I'm not sure about bit rate though.

@@bombapiotrdefinitely wrong on that part about resampling. Some Android phones definitely don't have to. LG notably and if you use third party apps such as Neutron, power amp, USB audio player and maybe tons more, you don't have to worry about it. You kinda have to use third party though because Android doesn't have a dedicated media player anymore just as Apple doesn't have a calculator, lol, this is ridiculous. Thanks for this super duper useful video! I have been mulling over whether to switch from iPhone to android since last month, and have been so utterly confused. This was extremely helpful, especially since I plan to use these phones commercially as well for content creation. I love how you have practically covered such minute things. However, I still have a few doubts, if someone can help me understand: A. While the flagship androids are great for photos, are they comparable with the iPhone for videos as well? Especially if one needs to shoot content for Instagram or KZbin? B. Not sure why, but somehow the smoothness you demonstrated in how Day to day things in iOS just work seamlessly, somehow they have never for me! Not sure, if it’s something with using apple in India (not all of their features are available here or might not be optimised for use in India), even basic things just don’t work sometimes. The frustration you felt with android, i have felt it so many times with my apple devices: 1. Call notifications not syncing with Apple Watch SE, despite having having the WiFi + cellular model, it’s a hit and miss. Forget about using the cellular network, even when both the devices are on the same WiFi, I get call notifications on my watch on rare occasions. I have even gotten the watch replaced under Apple warranty, but in vain. My watch is mostly reduced to a mere fitness tracker, as most of the smart features don’t work as expected 2. Despite all the hype on how easy iPhone makes the switch from one iPhone to another, I recently switched from a newer iPhone to an older one and it has been a nightmare, despite taking the iCloud backup! E.g. my Apple Watch shows up in the devices associated with the ICloud account, but it still doesn’t appear in watch app. I removed it from my devices and tried re-pairing it through the watch app, but that didn’t work as well. I would have to reset my watch now and do the extremely time consuming process of resetting and pairing the Apple Watch as new again. 3. Something as simple as creating a personal hotspot gives me an extremely hard time on an iPhone. Despite switching on the personal hotspot on my iPhone, the network isn’t visible to other devices, I have to switch off my Bluetooth, my WiFi and personal hotspot via settings. Then again switch on the personal hotspot and choose the option of switching on the WiFi and Bluetooth from the pop up that appears. Sometimes, I have to repeat this whole procedure 3-4 times for the hotspot to get activated for other devices. Despite all of this, iPhone just disconnects the connected devices from the personal hotspot, anytime on its own, even if the connection is being used. 4. The FaceTime switch feature from iPhone to iPad is again a hit and miss 5. The Face ID on my iPhone or the Touch ID on my iPad don’t recognise me, despite resetting them up multiple times. I have to enter the pin all the time! This happens not just with me but with both of my parents as well. iPhone doesn’t recognise them as well. Similarly, the Apple Pencil isn’t correctly able to recognise my handwriting most of the times. These are just some of the examples which were on top of my mind, but I face a new problem with my Apple devices not working as expected almost every other day! Additionally, the frustration of owning a powerful iPad but not being able to use it optimally and having to still relying on the iPhone for everything else, e.g. it can’t even send an sms which not only impacts communication but also something like banking apps, which can’t be installed on the iPad due to the registration requirements of using an sms, or the limited features available on Microsoft office or Google Sheets/Docs apps which make them a pain to use compared to a laptop. The list just goes on and own. Yet am still scared to switch to an android, wondering if it will be worse, or will I get a decent video recording from those devices etc. etc…not sure what to do. Anybody else for, India gracing similar problems with their Apple devices? Am I doing something wrong?

Awesome video, just subscribed! Such a genuine experience shared here. My experience with Apple has been bad. From simply logging in to their ecosystem, getting knocked out on every update, them sending codes to random devices, etc... I made the decision to go Android and never look back. I suppose if I were more invested in to their ecosystem it would be more difficult, but I do not ever miss dealing with iOS. I do agree on the app development though. Apple users are more likely to spend more money without thinking, so naturally Devs spend more time making Apple apps. If Apple decides to really compete with Android for real one day and open their devices up to more developers / stop charging to publish on the App store, I may try them out. Until that day happens though, I have so much less stress on the Android side and do not cringe when I have to use my phone like I did with Apple.

Tasker can do more than shortcuts but bixby can't do more than ios automation and shortcuts. The app developers in ios leave the API open for ios shortcuts open to create custom automations which is not possible on bixby routines. iOS shortcuts and automations are next level as apple makes it easier for developers to integrate the app at operating system level. Like you said that there are those few things that you are too used to finding in iOS, similarly a person who uses Android in and out will find few things that are missing on iOS and that will be a dealbreaker as well. Especially when at the time Android only got software upgrades ranging from 1 year, 3 years and now 7 years depending on the brand. How much longer will those apps be compatible is in question. Whereas it’s easier for developers to make apps for Apple because even though there’s iOS for iPhone or iOS for iPad, etc. Apple’s structure stays consistent. Despite that I am an Android user, I give points to Apple for the software consistency and simplicity . But I give Android points for hardware and some software flexibility.

Damn dude, that's an awesome video! Really showed me a lot. Now, in my daily life, being from India, I have sort of an opposite situation. Apps which are global, like Instagram, they are really well optimised even for my iPhone SE 2, although thoroughly annoyed they don't have an ipad app for it, but not my point. On my realme 6, it used to not be as fast, and that's that. Even banking apps open faster, don't have as many bugs, etc. But what is interesting is that a lot of government apps do not even have an app store app, and since sideloading is not possible, it is completely impossible to get them. There are no Teslas here, so most of the automation things do not bother me, but what sorta bothers me is the fact that wifi and bluetooth do not turn off, so I set two shortcuts to do them. But for android, I am impressed. First off, realme 6 was also launched in the same year as the SE, which is 2020, and at launch it was about a third of the cost of the SE [15000 INR vs 45000 INR], and I have installed custom ROMs (thoroughly voiding warranty, but idc coz its too old to have one), but what I get is still a fast and snappy phone with granular controls, unlimited google photos storage, a pixel camera port (known as a gcam mod apk, clicks stellar pictures compared to the stock app), and still a phone to use for Train location tracking, train ticket booking, metro card recharge, all things not available on the iphone. I am completely aware of the fact that I do not have the highest end of stuff, but I am quite partial to the android experience, especially the fact that I do not have to come across any single ad during use. I use a mod that doesn't even show ads on instagram, and little things like these make the tradeoff of not that optimised software fine by me. Just giving an account of my experience, YMMV, but I can totally see how that walled garden is an issue. Using an iPhone (my main) and iPad, studies flow like crazy, but for fun times, the android has me covered (: On a side note, I think a mentality aspect is also crucial here. I am a student who still has the curiosity to be granular about things, as in I prefer my stuff to be separated rather than locked in together, but as a father of two, I can completely see how you would value convenience and peace of mind over a hassle to solve some problem with your phone, or laptop, stuff like that.

Biggest concern is when there is a hardware issue, you pay a hefty price to repair it. So I don’t see any reason to buy apple products unless you are a professional and earns enough to justify that cost as well.

@@babor_ also true. Official apple repair for a phone that has the internals almost 6 years old, battery replacement officially costs 6800 INR, whereas official cost for battery repair for realme is 1200 INR, and most androids don't cross the 2000 INR barrier, whereas even the 14 battery replacement costs almost 9000 INR. I'm not even going into back glass and screen repair, which is a whole other level

I agree with what he is saying app developers hate android for some reason or they don't take the time with apps for android. I hope they see the complaints of the customer and fix this.

Unfortunately, customers aren't complaining. Most of them never tried daily-ing an iPhone so have no idea what they're missing out on. My frustrations aren't made up, I filmed what I experienced.

I will just say this personally... if ECO SYSTEM is your primary reason you're sticking with Apple and you ever consider "giving android a try" AND it doesn't matter what desktop/laptop you use, I would go with the pixel lineup. A pixel phone, pixel watch, pixel buds etc. The reason for this, is the google eco system to me is the most closest to apple's eco system. You have the messenger apps, video chat apps, gmail, assistant, etc. And for those who want a foldable or want to consider one, you can now be in the pixel lineup and have a solid foldable as well. Oddly enough, you can use ALL of google's apps on iOS but the same can't be said about apple's apps on other platforms. I love iOS and I can see why others do as I've used it off and on for years. BUT I simply grew tired of feeling like I had the same device within a few hours of upgrading to a later model.

You forget one thing. Because Australian developers don't care about Android The McDonald's app is full of loopholes which is fantastic for free food especially when they have their 30-day deals you can just sign in with random made-up Gmail accounts and get the same deal over and over and over which you can't do on iPhone so sometimes there's a benefit to Android

Love this video! I am considering making the jump from Apple to Android (via Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold). I am not nearly as connected to the Apple ecosystem as you (I am a Windows PC user, and don't own any iPads) and Apple introducing RCS in iOS 18 will address my concerns with losing iMessage. While you can't leave Apple, this has kind of shown me why someone like me SHOULD leave Apple. I use few third party apps (streaming services, Reddit, KZbin, Class Dojo for my kids school, some apps for work, and Tesla app). I think the only concerning part of your video was around the Tesla app, so I looked it up on reddit and it seems people resolved the issue with the app being unresponsive by turning off power saving settings for the Tesla app on android as androids will have the Tesla app go to sleep by default to save battery. So not sure if that was your issue, but it may have been.

On Samsung, they have things called routines that pretty much act like shortcuts. For ex, when you open the chipotle app, it can open up location services. And then when you close the app, it will turn the services back off.

I use P60 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro, both 512Gb. Both got their own respective pros and cons. My daily driver still be P60 Pro because in terms of camera flexibility, my iPhone 14 Pro still not even come close to manual controls except video quality of the iPhone is slightly better due to oversharpened look. To be honest is, if you go out there let's say going to Starbucks with your friends or on a vacation, you just hear "Opening" and "Tritone" all over again and again. If I can't choose just to side with iPhone that's my problem because "branded" thing. Luckily I am not that kind of person just in reality it's because of "branded" thing.

Apple has over 125 million active iPhone users in the USA so you can't blame the app developers for prioritizing the iPhone compared to 25 million Samsung users. And btw smartphones are just tools to get stuff done, so if the the iPhone works for you then go for it!

While Apple does have a strong domination in the US, do keep in mind that Android is not exclusively Samsung. Depending where you source the information from, 39-45% of smartphones in the US run Android, so the figure isn't 5-to-1 as you implied, but a much closer 3-to-2. P.S. I'm not sure where you got 25 million Samsung users from but most reports put Samsung at 24% of the US mobile phone market, which would be closer to 65-70 million.

Yeah. I’m with you. I miss some aspects of just using android, but I am locked in to the garden. My watch pays for everything - it works so well I get kind of annoyed if a terminal doesn’t support it. As just one silly example. Suica in Japan, I mean just a small example - but the shit just works. Your fat baby is adorable. That is all.

I can't think of a single reason to use Apple products in 2024. The M Series might beat snapdragon but no enough to put up with the downsides of the macbooks. I don't have enough patience to downgrade to an iPhone. Apple UIs just make simple things frustrating. I need cross platform. Integration and not an "eco system" which is just a number of bad purchasing decisions
