Gurren Lagann literally saved my life back in the day - it came around right as I was caving in to a very stupid and permanent idea, if you catch my meaning, and that message of 'never give up, and never stop moving forward' was exactly what I needed at the time, with exactly the right delivery method to actually get it through my skull I know that not everyone at Trigger was there to make TTGL, but Imaishi-san and the rest of the production and animation staff... they're my heroes, and always will be. Seeing them all work at a new studio with even bigger ballsier projects warms my heart, and everything they've made so far (except the ending of Darling in the FranXX) has made it into my top favorite fictional works of all time Yes, even the animation shorts like Sex and Violence with Machspeed. Absolutely fascinating interview. It's a credit to Masumoto that he gave so freely of his time to engage as fully and as long (3 hrs?!) as he did. I didn't really know much about Trigger but Kill La Kill is one the most interesting series I've seen in a long, long time. I will definitely check out Promare.

Thank you for this, interview was amazing! So many times interviews with industry folks tend to be so full of fluff and feel sort of artificial. This conversation seemed so natural and answered actual interesting questions which kept me engaged the entire time. Great stuff.

It has a unique art style, the exaggerations in the art, to the way they are animated when they move, and yes I know they exaggerate some things in particular that made me surprised, hehehe the transformations 😂😂😂

So Duolingo actually works? I think I've learned more English while playing MMO/RPGS than with duolingo tbh :/ Is it actually good for Japanese?

It's great to see that Trigger is doing this for the fans. Not only that, but also striving to try new things and create more original animations. Thanks, Trigger. I would like to see music composers or musicians that make music for anime next. I know this is a reach, but I would like to see what Hiroyuki Sawano has to offer.

First video of yours I've actually been interested in for a long time, despite how i used to watch every video of yours when they came out. It's good to see the quality has gone back up and beyond what it was. Videos this good were the reason i watched you in the first place, and I'm happy to see they're back. I hope to see more like this (Format and quality) in the future, so I have reason to enjoy your vids again. Cheers Joey!

I have to ask, Joey (or maybe someone else knows?): Where did you get that Punpun longsleeve/sweater? Or do you know any place (online) to get Punpun merch in the west? Europe would be optimal. I have looked for it multiple times, but I haven't managed to find it anywhere yet...
