Seriously, my new favorite chase team, with a bullet. You and your Dad work really well together (nice driving too) and you both seem to stay chill which is essential for situational awareness/safety. Stay safe so we can all enjoy your content for many years to come.

Rainwrapped tornadoes are a nightmare and glad all came out well. That's an awesome way for father and son to spend some quality time7 together and I'll give a sub for that and hope to see more soon. This reminded me of another father and son team and an experience they had. If you haven t seen check out James Burch and his dad's drive at El Reno. It's kinda funny afterwards because they both were fine , maybe some soiled drawers. They like most others there that day were surprised by the direction and sudden growth and there route of escape was a muddy dirt road with I imagine 100 mph+. inflow to punch through in 4 cyl. compact. Check it out and listen to James urging his dad to go and while he's doing so look out passenger window where camera is facing. He could nearly stick arm out and shake hands with that thing. It's a miracle they didn't get affected by outer tornadic winds or a satellite funnel. They have many more close encounters since but thankfully not like that day at El Reno.

I've never seen such a Green Hue in a Supercell T-storm. I'm a Meteorologist, Retired Airline Pilot & Sometimes Storm Chaser, I understand the Atmospheric Green Hue, but that's The GREENEST Green Hue that I've ever seen!!! You Guys made it through that Vortex because you didn't panic, something that I learned from over 40 years of Flying Airliners! It was also very pleasant NOT Hearing Shouting & Swearing!!! I mean, if you're a Storm Chaser & You Go Into A Supercell T-storm To Encounter A Tornado, Why Yell & Let Loose With Strings Of The Most Vile Swear Words Possible??? That's Never Made Sense To Me!!! If You Guys Had Panicked & Freaked-Out, There's a Very Good Chance That You Wouldn't Have Made It Out Of That Predicament Unscathed! It's Like Pilots, If You Find Yourself Facing An Emergency, You Won't Do Yourself or Your Passengers Any Good To Go To Pieces! You might be scared inside, but when you're in The Crisis Everything That You Do In That Time Until You've Safely Done What You Must To Do To Rectify The Situation Are The Most Important Things That You'll Do In Your Life! In An Airliner That Usually Means Running Down Troubleshooting Checklists!!! From That Point, You Depend On Your Training & Experience, With A Heaping Helping Of Common Sense & Prayer! Good Job! You Guys Did it!!! G-d Bless & Happy Chasing!!!

I grew up in Highland, Kansas (small college town 26 miles West of St. Joseph) in the 60's and 70's and when I was about 4 or 5 we had a tornadic storm that came over our house in the northeastern corner of the town and took out all of our large yard trees, but no damage to our house or out buildings. Trying to find out if there is any history of tornadoes in Doniphan county or Highland (KS) that you all know about.

I tried punching south through the core between Marysville and blue rapids but never could get into view of the real tornado. From the moment we crossed into kansas from Nebraska to blue rapids we were under 5 miles from the bears cage but the whole time we were in 60-70mph easterlies with cg barages occasionally right before velocity would explode.
@FreddyMcKinney2 жыл бұрын
Basically the only way to "see" it was to get hit by it. These south moving monster HPs are pretty much impossible to chase safely. Honestly it felt like chasing a hurricane more than anything
