Oh, those dreaded spring clamps… There are two sizes in the return and vent lines (13mm and 15mm). One of those got deformed while removing the hoses, rendering it unusable, and I was unable to source any replacement around here. Ended up putting regular hose clamps and I’ll say they do a better job pressing the old hoses in. Thought replacing all hoses was a good idea but turned into an odyssey. Return U-shaped hose was somewhat strangled and leaking fuel. Back with the original which still performs ok.

MMWA, You have inspired me to remove, clean, and reinstall the gasoline tank of my W126.🙂 I live in the USA and I was surprised to see the "premium unleaded fuel only" sticker. What year did Mercedes Benz start equipping their Australian market automobiles with a catalytic converter?

I bought this sticker from the USA 😂 Aussie cars came setup for regular unleaded. I needed a sticker after the paint job, only buy premium so thought that will do 😃 New cars sold in australia from 1986 had to run unleaded fuel, I assume it was the same time catalytic converters were also mandated.

Very weird mud... I've installed a spherical tap immediately before the fuel pumps to avoid clamping the hoses whenever I should repair the system, as shown here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jouxqIhtm9h6sJY&ab_channel=ViniTerranova sorry for the bad quality and shaking... 😄
