My mom had a heart attack in 1997 when she was 50. She lasted another 19 years after that 'till heart and cancer caught her in 2016. My family history has had lots of heart attacks in their 50's. I'm 53 right now, and it's one of my biggest worries. Hope you're feeling better soon.

I understand what you mean by hospitals. I had pretty much the same experience. I went to the hospital first time for 2 stents. Second trip to hosp for 1 Stent. Third trip was for a Tavr valve in the Aortic valve. Two days later they put in a pacemaker because my heart kept stopping. I had high blood pressure before all this surgery. Guess what? My blood pressure is higher now than before all this surgery. Isn't that crazy? But there is one thing you have to look forward to. You will most likely be on blood thinners the rest of your life. Unless, of corse, YOU decide to stop taking them. Whatever happens, I wish you well. 🙂

Damn Will. Let me just say that you have left a mark on a lot of us. I've always appreciated your philosophy and your outlook on life. I started coming here for the guitar stuff, but I have stayed because of your intellect and your humor. I am glad you're doing ok. Take care.

I am so angry right now. I understand why heart-related problems are the leading cause of death in America. Because the doctors there are idiots. You go to the hospital with all the tell-tale signs of a heart attack and instead of just giving you nitro straight away which would stop the damage to your heart, they take their sweet little time doing their thing saying everything is looking fine with you and then at some point they said okay let's give him nitro and see if that works for him.... You should sue them for malpractice. Not to mention that a heart attack is something that should be dealt with promptly and they kept you waiting for how long until they managed to remove your clots because it was the weekend???? Where are they for real? Would they have done the same for their selves or their mother? So angry......
