I had Emergency Surgery and I lost an Ovary: Ovarian Torsion, how I'm really doing

Hi friends, this week did not go as planned. I was prepared to take you through what was supposed to be an exciting week as I was speaking at a university and then I was supposed to have my first medical school formal but that never happened. I ended up in the hospital with what I thought was appendicitis or kidney stones but it ended up being ovarian torsion. My right ovary twisted on itself, it lost blood supply, and the ovary had to be removed. I'm still processing this but I wanted to make a video explaining everything and where I have been. It is strange to give you a thumbs up when what you have gone through, It’s certainly not a good and healthy thing. I am so sorry that you lost your ovary and I can only pray that you will seek counsel to help you get through this as you have a bright future weighing in the balance. You’re in my prayers.

I had my ovarian torsion pain for about two and a half weeks before I realized I actually had something serious. Recovering from the surgery now. The pain is no joke.

I'm sorry it was such an unexpected health week. I hear you around past things getting brought up w new things now. It stinks that we have these ongoing health issues that like to make appearances when we're just trying to get back to normal living. Hey we're the same in only having our left ovary now though I'm not sure for how long I'll get to keep mine. But I didn't notice any difference hormonally or otherwise in losing my right one. Sending you lots of healing thoughts and prayers! 💜

I had a 14cm cyst cause a torsion twisted 5 time a blue left ovary from being deprived of oxygen and lost my left ovary as a result I was 3 months postpartum I delivered my daughter three months before my emergency surgery

I just found you and I watched this entire video. I 100% am right with you about feeling this way about our health problems. I’m having a bad day beating myself up about my several chronic diseases and ovarian torsion. It will be okay but it’s okay to have bad days, yes! We will get through this even tho it’s okay to mourn our loss of quality of life
