Yeah, once you can tell how selfish a person is you can predict how their life is going to turn out. And it turned out how I thought. You'd think she could have gotten therapy during that time, but it looks like she just was too happy to wallow in her own self pity.

I think whoever wrote the story is pretty decent, not the best, but decent. Agree. I’m sure that it’s not uncommon for something like this to happen, but this particular story is all over the place and just seems too contrived. Besides using wrong names a few times, I doubt a person who’s been destroyed by their spouse’s betrayal, would just say that they’ll start divorce proceedings when they get back to the country…..in 5 years. But they then wait 9 years to file for divorce? An educated, financially secure person can sort out a divorce while residing in another country. It’s not that difficult and just entails being separated for a year and then filing the paperwork. He just would’ve had to return a couple of times, without even having to see her face. I call BS on this story.

This 100% is written by a scorned man. For one Daniel becomes Tom and Tom becomes Daniel. For another, the way the woman laments her decisions and ends up alone, poor, and friendless is exactly what an ex of a cheater would want/think/say. This reads like that picture perfect scenario a hurting person fantasies while showering for work. No matter how much guilt and shame a cheater has, they do have more than one facet of their life. They do have good in them. Humans are more complex than a Disney villain or hero. Even Hitler was vegetarian. Even Hitler loved dogs. Even Hitler had a genuine (from all accounts, not perverse) love for children. No one is wholly evil or good.
@MinisterManDan5 ай бұрын
Pretty clear that the issue with OP is not that she lost “Daniel” or even sex, it’s that she cannot even remotely handle being told “no.” She got dainty prince/princess syndrome. She felt entitled to do anything she wanted to do at any time and the first person to ever tell her “no, actually, you cannot” fucked her whole world up and she’s still fixated on him 10 years later. Find another non monogamous person, there’s plenty of them who are happy with that lifestyle, and get a hold of yourself.

Oh no, my actions have consequences. I mean, what did she expect? He already voiced his opinion, he didn't want to have an open marriage and then she goes, "Our relationship is open, and I get the last word on that". If I was him, I would have filed for divorce the following day.

When it’s brought up multiple times it’s a given that it’s going to happen, if it hasn’t already, and there is someone in mind. unfortunate that these wicked ideas can be planted into someone's mind and take such a strong-hold... I believe this happens when someone doesn't actively think about potential outcomes to their actions. I mean it'd be simple enough to talk to someone else who has taken part of that ideology and see that it always leads to ruin. A wise man once said "Without a target, you are destined to wander" - think about what you want out of life, folks. And think about the principles you need to abide by to reach your goals and milestones, and just as importantly - what people/places/ideas you need to avoid with all your being so as not to take the 1st step towards any slippery slopes. It might save you some very tough lessons.
