@@pilksuk What you describe sounds like cosmic break to me xD It was (or is? haven't checked for like a decade or so) a f2p mecha game where you choose one of 3 factions, each with their own hub to chat, had open world questing to farm for ressources and parts (though best stuff was payed, i think even gacha, though been to long to fully remember) and a couple of PvP modes/Arenas.

Seeing this review (particularly the making of your avatar and it's POV:mainly seeing it's back in Overworld (is that the area your avatar walks around?)), reminds me of the Dreamcast game from 2000 Phantasy Star Online Where you can make a character as part of a team sent to a planet for a mission (I never went online on it however) The animation of this Gundam Metaverse reminds me of that game from 2000 I manly got the Dreamcast because it had the game Gundam Side Story 0079 Rise from the Ashes about the White Dingo MS team in Australia around the time of the One Year War
