I try to remember the analogy of the glass of water being half full or half empty. We can focus on the empty part, the extra profit on the trade we closed early and be frustrated that we didn't get more, or we can focus on the great profit we made on a trade and just not worry about the extra profit we almost had. Sometimes I am able to do this, and sometimes I start focusing on the extra profit I almost had.

Hey, Tori. I enjoy your videos. I also wanted to say it was no coincidence the price went up after the candle you got in on. If you notice, it was a large candlestick. Those are institutional candles like big banks and stuff. They're the only ones that can make a candlestick that large. When they get in at the right location, usually after a large sell-off like the exact one on your chart, the price is going in their direction since they usually control the price. If I had to guess, it probably happened somewhere below the 20 period moving average too or somewhere in that location. It's a lovely setup. Congrats on the win.

VERY TRuE. You really have to give yourself PERSPECTIVE as a trader. Because even if you gain 1% a week, you will still do 52% a YEAR! If you took someones money in Jan and gave them a 52% gain at the End of DEC, they would send everyone they know to invest with you. So while all you've been thinking you are the absolute worse trader on the planet, who can't do better than 1% a week, you were able to out perform nearly every financial institution ON THE PLANET by a factor of 10X! " ITs all about perspective!

What these many years of trading has taught me is that a profit is a profit, not matter $1 or $2000. Closed with profit and forget about all the " what if", as they will never happen and I learned to be content with the amount received. There are always trading opportunities in the market. Like how Gold moved $100 in range yesterday, sth you don't see everyday. Keep up the good work.

Most traders would have exited the trade when it went back to break even. You stayed in it until you reached your goal. If you had not exited, it would have been just as possible for it to turn on you for a loss. I was always told when it comes to trading, "Anything green is better than anything red." It was an excellent trade.

220 odd points out of a potential 1500+ means Tori made 15% of what was available, since the move went on to 1.104. The price of Platinum gained a further 16.5% to the high of this swing, which is 1,570 points or so after the exit point. Once in the position, an exponential moving average would have kept the trade alive for an extra 1100 points from the exit. This would potentially have been a 125K trade after that exit point , had the 30 EMA been used as a trailing stop. Trade what you see, not what you think (and definitely don't trade your P+L).

At this point I say you got to just forget about it and move to the next trade. After you get home from a restaurant You don't concern yourself with the price of the food, what they are serving or who is eating there. You went to the restaurant. Took what satiated you and you left. Hindsight is easy. Start planning what restaurant you will go to next time. ..... just an opinion 👍🙏

Great share with your Psychology battle, I’m transitioning from taking hundreds in profit to thousands. I hard a really hard day also when I closed out at 3K profit, then literally on the next 4 hour candle close it could have been a 9K profit. What is your strategy for exiting a trade if you don't use a TP? A profit of 23K is huge. You could have also turned on trailing stop loss at your 100K mark and let the trade run. Dwelling on what you could have made if you would have stayed in will ultimately cause you to hold a trade longer than you should have. Take the win and move on to the next trade. Check out AlexG's last 100 to 1 Million video. He was up big and ended up taking a loss on the account. There were other factors as to why it was a loss, but he was up 17K and closed the trade with a 2K loss.

I know how it is I just had my first big day on an evaluation account. It was the end of the month I seen a set up on CL at the 200 ema on a down trend so I took it short with 4 contracts. But I didn't follow my strategy I said well it's the end of the month and I don't care what happens so when I entered I did so with no stop loss or target. I said it either goes or it doesn't, and I left. Came back at lunch and I was up 11k and was like ok that's good enough and got out. Passed the eval sense I only had to get 1500$ but I am not happy with the way I traded at all. It was a lucky win fall day in my opinion. We all have those days

Saying a trade was bad simply because you got out a little bit early makes zero sense to me. As long as a trader knows their risk, how much they could lose in a trade, and manages to get out in profit, it was a good trade. You have no idea how much profit you woulda/coulda made until after closing and seeing what happens after. However, once you close in profit, practice completely detaching yourself from what it does next. It doesn't matter. Latch onto the positive outcome of being in profit, not the, "could've made more" trap of negatively judging the unknown (at the time) "potential" profit. Having a good entry is paramount to giving a trade the best chance of success and you already know you did that. Congrats on the awesome job on this trade! Look forward to your next one!
@jackbrown79095 ай бұрын
I don't agree with you. Look, the success of a trader should not be measured by the amount of money he makes on the market but rather the level of discipline he achieves. So if you're consistent and respect all your trading rules, you will be profitable no matter what, as long as your trading edge has been backtested and proved to be effective during the past few years (3-5 years at least). The results will be good if you are disciplined, because the backtest showed you what were the good parameters for your trading edge. You cannot have a working edge on the market, be disciplined and still lose money. That's not possible. For the case of the Trade Tori closes early, it was indeed a bad action. You should not close a trade no matter what, unless one rule said to close it. If the rule is: close if there is a break of market structure or double shift of structure, then yes, it's a good action. But if you close just because you feel uncomfortable, that's emotional trading and that will lead you to failure in the long run. Tori is a good trader, she's experienced and that's why she said it was a bad trade because she didn't respect her trading plan. That's all for me.

Hi Tori :) love your content. Could you explain why, in this video, you decided to enter on this particular trend line break, even though there were four previous breaks that failed, which you didn't take? You mention intuition, but to someone watching, it seems like there was no clear rule or strategy applied to those other failed breaks. How do you decide when to follow your strategy on trend line breaks versus relying on intuition? TIA

So I wonder would you consider tapering your stop loss down on the hourly chart? This way if it continues then great but if it goes down which is still likely because of extra resistance to the left then you still hold the vast majority of your profits. Don’t get me wrong this is not a criticism but a genuine question as your techniques have changed me from a hit and miss trader to a relatively successful trader. Thanks for your help 👍🏻. By the way your technique works really well on Forex!

So for new people who are transitioning from paper accounts to real money what do recommend what percentage of our account we trade with? I’ve been using paper for a bit, I’ve had some good trade days where I’m getting 100s-just under 3k and I’ve also basically blown up accounts. I’m thinking to start I’d with 20-30% with a stop of 10%. My buddy says risk 1-4% of your account. But I do momentum trades with trend considerations. In the past 8 days I’ve had 2 red days of less than 100. I’ve had 2 days over 500 green, 1 over 1k and 1 day almost 3k. I feel like I hit my stride and have my strategy down well.
