About The Long Dark: The Long Dark is a survival game which takes place in the frigid Canadian wilderness, and is played from a first-person perspective. The player must manage their body temperature, calorie levels, hunger, and fatigue. The Long Dark has three game modes available to the player: story, survival, and challenge.

@ always happy to help, and super enjoying the videos. Good luck with interloper… you will die. You will most likely not survive even a few days. A veteran player of stalker myself still has problems with interloper due to the way the difficulty is: lots of things are taken away and there are techniques to be mastered. But it’s still worth a shot. Have fun on your week off!!

PV navigation tip: When you're out and about, always plan what to do if you can't see past the end of your nose. Blizzards are killers here, everyone gets to do the 'walk round in circles initiation rite'. So, sort of like a pilot who says 'where am I going to land if my engines fail!' You get maybe 5seconds warning to pick a course, then hope you run into something that will save you.

Also, using cat tail heads to lay down paths can help with blizzard navigation until you know how to get from point A to B. At least lay down heads to get to roads. If you find a road in PV, you can find safety quickly enough.

​@likasil yes! I do this in PV and the airfield, anywhere there are wide open spaces, because it's so easy to get disoriented when a blizzard hits and all the terrain is the same

Great tip here. If I'm in an open field and a blizzard hits, where am I going? It's a 1/360 chance of getting home lol Appreciate you here. Perhaps I'll start dropping sticks or rocks!

@@TheEsseffeChannel Use cat tails! Sticks and rocks could be just natural spawns and you pick them up. Cattails are out of place, so you’ll leave them be. Just orient them in the direction of a road or something from where you can navigate on your own. Useful getting to and from commonly travelled areas that can be disorienting in a blizzard.

Starts on higher difficulty: immediately finds the best sweater in the game. :) I like your approach to exploring and you are really getting good at juking wolves. I guess you learned that you need to pull way more torches from your first fire, they are so important on higher difficulties. Little tip: you keep ignoring the little white jars on kitchen counters. This is salt and one of the key ingredients in cooking. Good run and I loved the introduction with the dream. Just stay true to your own vision and your audience will be entertained. So many adventures to be had in dreamland. 😀

you missed 2 fishing hooks on the dash of two separate cars in Thomson crossing, also Pleasant valley is really a sick joke it is far from pleasant, and can be very brutal. Lots of little out of the way places great place for clothes is the plane crash to the north. Old mans Beard is a antiseptic Burdock Root or Reshi mushrooms make a antibiotic tea rose hips make a pain killer tea Coffee improves stamina Birch Bark Tea or herbal tea is used before bed to regain health faster

That was a fun way to do the transition! It's great watching you start off a new series. You have enough knowledge to get yourself started and you're making good decisions. I feel oddly proud lol Keep in mind that on higher difficulties, your meters will drain faster: you get cold faster, hungry faster, and thirsty faster. You can't sleep as long without your thirst meter running out. Also, on stalker there are a LOT of wolves. More even than there are on Interloper. So you will get a lot of practice avoiding them. I hope you practice 'crouch-walking' to get around them.

I had to rub my eyes thinking i was seeing things... 😲Your luck is immense, i have no idea how many hours i spent even in Pilgrim to find that Sweater.. It's almost getting ridiculous 😂Gives the impression you entered some kind of DREAMLAND where all you ever need, is granted even before you knew you needed it. I half expected the community center to be ready set for a big Christmas dinner, tree, gifts and food galore. And a barn stocked up with all tools and weapons ready to support a little army 🤣

I have days when i get too distracted as well. 😵‍💫Just know that spread around the landscape there usually are houses, caves, bunkers or barns and even cars to sleep in. so should you forget again. Heck, I don't even like Interloper or Misery. It's just pain, especially misery. But I do play custom stalker for difficulty. Making the world colder, animals spawn less but keeping Stalker loot cause I like them guns (they don't spawn on higher difficulties). However custom games don't count to badge progression so probably best to unlock most feats first. Yes, on higher difficulties you have a greater chance for buildings to be burned down or locked up. However this is only for simple buildings. Anything that has a custom name is pretty much guaranteed every game. A little dreamland transition to bring in a new series, not a bad idea. Might be confusing for you though to have two series running. But good on you for starting to use the notes!

Loved the creative way to bring in a new run. 👌 Also, LOVE that you got the DLC. I shrieked with joy when I saw that two episodes ago. Was watching on TV tho, so couldn’t comment. Also, kind of hilarious that you lit the torch to start a fire in that barrel…but then didn’t notice the torch wasn’t selected in the fire start menu (cardboard matches were selected). Tip: Use the bedroll to find your way in the dark. The game will outline the bedroll in red or green as if you are trying to set it down. But in the process, the negative space around the roll will help you navigate in the dark. You could also just hit ‘y’ to get a kind of night vision in safe house customization mode. Not sure if you have this figured out yet, but you can cook berry and mushrooms teas to get a warmth buff. Prep them in the crafting menu. I tend to use the rose hip teas for warming up and save the mushroom teas in case of parasites (which you can get on Stalker and higher difficulties if you eat predator meat before obtaining level 5 cooking). Oh and the ‘minor/moderate/major c’ is vitamin C content in that item. You must have selected Scurvy to be on when you started that world. Need to eat vit c foods pretty regularly to mitigate scurvy risk. Fish is best for that. Just do a regular fishing session every so often. Lastly, the fishing tackle is another sewing tool. Use til 10% condition left (uses 10% per repair attempt) and then go fishing with it. Levels up fishing skill. Though tip ups are way better. Can make a 100% tip up with that 10% tackle too. But tip ups don’t level up fishing (nor do they benefit from fishing level). You can catch plenty of fish quickly using tip ups to combat scurvy risk, like they likely do in Greenland. ;) Omg…I heard ‘Greenland’ in the video…not Dreamland. 😂

Water is heavy when you have a lot on you ..if your just exploring an area don’t carry more then a liter and half….Ptarmigan is a bird , so you get meat plus feathers… things are colder on higher difficulty…don’t carry more then you need… but your doing well..loved the start and ending… look good around that barn ..outside you might find a treat …

more tips newspapers can be ripped up into 2 tinder also try to save canned food for when u get a knife, can opener or hatchet all can open cans if u smash them open u loose some of the content also instead of going out at knight into the unknown use the time to rip clothes preparing teas and making tinder from newspaper all witch can be done without light last tip of the day u can use fishing tackle instead of sewing kits takes a litle longer but if u dont use it down to zero u can still fish with it ohh and Greenland is very beautifull spent 6 month working there

It was a neat transition ngl. 7:20, on interloper they are. In fact, Interloper doesnt even have cardboard matches, which you just found. 11:15 basically yeah lol. 12:59 what a coincidence. 13:25, thats for a camera :D found only in the new areas. Its a trek to get to where its at, but its such a new addition to the game. 14:54, yeah hard to see on a phone, but it's all apart of the playing process. 16:05 that was the first radio I used for the trader. 16:57, love that sweater ngl. 21:52, yes you can but you need lamp oil, cloth, and sticks. As I'm writing this too, it's snowing outside :D I'm so glad rn. 22:42, depends if you have good gear also. You just spawned in after all. 23:09, max difficulty would either be outer misery or outer nogoa. Outer nogoa you rarely even survive one day! 27:30, note you can lure the bear in a certain direction throwing rocks in ear shot of him. 29:54, WHAT?! You can't outrun a bear! Unless, that is, he didn't charge you yet. 33:22, the "C" is the indicator that the food has vitamin C in it. If it says minor, it's not a lot, but it will still slow down scurvy. Oh yes, scurvy, what pirates had: vitamin C deficiency. 34:05, could've pressed y. 40:13, I think it's better to use general notes rather than notes. For notes you can only see it by clicking on the day you wrote it on. 45:25, you lit a torch and then used a match to light the fire? Loads of match wasting this episode lol, but all to keep you alive. Anyways, I'm really stoked for more episodes and the stream. Honestly though, I'm not really sure why the US wants to add GREENLAND to the nation lol.

There's no point in heating canned food unless you plan to eat it before it goes cold again and you need the warmth bonus. The "C" is vitamin C, there's a grace period before scurvy becomes an issue but you might want to keep track of it and make sure you have some sources available later. Cooking canned foods will increase cooking skill though, and cooking level 5 is a game changer - every little helps!

I would say if you are going to eat canned food always cook it first, it levels up your cooking. only at cooking level 5 is there no point to it.

Dont forget to read tips for the food. Lot of the new recepies give u buff/debuff anything hot will help while ur outside so if u can I would recommand to cook in the morning before you leave. (It not need btw since anything that say "cold" can be warm again on the fire. But yeah if you plan on going out for abit having a warm buff help a lot.

Great video transition. Rose hip tea is for pain. Reishi tea is for food poisoning. Also, drinking or eating something that has been warmed up will help keep you warmer longer when going outside. 😊

Unless your cooking level is high and your tummy is strong like a goat. Should you get food poisoning, take antibiotic and sleep it off. You won't heal while you sleep. So it's best to eat the bad food before you go to bed and when your health is good.

Its not that the matches are hard to find, (especialy on stalker, loot is still overwhelming on stalker) its that once you find them all thats it so its good practice to conserve

With the trader now, apparently you can get matches from him. Haven’t seen it yet, but I checked the trades on the wiki for a different reason and was surprised to see matches listed.

Small things would make sense, but nothing game changing (I see bedrolls as game changing since they are pretty rare). Devs are very careful with balancing.

Ok then i guess il start a new series then Stalker Timestamps 0:45 and that kids, is why condensed milk is bad, it makes ur teeth rot and will take u too dreamland, a bad one 7:15 Matches ARE hard to find......... on interloper and misery, the game spoils u in stalker and bellow 10:20 NO FRICKIN WAY, Sam..... u just picked up the best sweater and rarest clothing item in the entire game..... i have no words... do yk how lucky that is...... i searched for in in the entire map for 200 days and i cant find 1, ONE 😭 and u just nonchalantly just said "another sweater", I physicaly gasped when i saw that, told u the game wants u alive 11:53 remember the tackle u picked up..... u can repair and craft clothes with it 20:55 yes, yes u can craft a torch just look, LOOK dont assume stuff in this game, u will be proven wrong evetually 21:34 ok so remember the temu night vision, do that or better, raise the brightness 23:10 oh trust me, i dont, im not a masochist..... yet..... im still learning abt this game after 300 hours 24:12 remember the predator grace period, yeah just chuck that out it doesnt exist in stalker and above 26:12 no Sam, that was canadian, the game has entered ur brain 33:22 ok so when u first started and gave u a huge list of tips i mentioned scurvy, u start with 500 points and they decrease by 10 in voyager and 20 in stalker, those points r the amount of vitamin C u consume and every food item has one but u dont need to worry for the first 20 days Ok i believe thats all, dont forget to consume fich, it has a huge amount of vitamin C Oh ur still scrolling, u should maybe stop, idk whats bellow and i dont think u want to find out.... wait I said stop Dont make me do this Ok u asked for it, here sit on this couch, we still have 5 hours of the tld playlist wait dont goooo....
