I HAD TO GET HIP INJECTIONS: Going To A Pain Specialist For Chronic Pain

I had to get steroid injections and it was terrible. Due to a combination of ulcerative colitis complications, hip bursitis, and hip dysplasia, I had to get hip injections. Going to a specialist for chronic pain terrified me. After my first pain clinic consult, I was feeling a little bit better and less anxious about the situation. This vlog will explain why getting hip injections at a pain clinic, why going to a pain clinic for chronic joint pain was NOT a good experience for me. Hey everyone, I'm Devin! I currently have my Associates and Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology. Before the pandemic, I was working towards my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. That was put on hold because I have an autoimmune disease (Ulcerative Colitis) that has caused me to be in quarantine for over 8 months at this point. Update: It has now been a few weeks and I'm still in a lot of pain. I have my follow up with the pain specialist next Monday and if they can't help me, I will be going back to my PCP to figure out next steps. Thank you guys so much for your continuing encouragement and kind words.

Thanks for sharing. Your story is kind of a metaphor for the pandemic. We find ourselves in a situation of suffering and hope that there is something out there that can cure this disease so we can go back to "normal." I'm glad to see your channel continue to grow and garner support, I'm sure you're helping a lot of people out there who suffer from chronic illness. The steroid shot ended up not working for me at all so I haven’t had one since. I actually recently started ketamine IV infusions to try to treat my chronic pain. I’ve posted a couple videos about it if you’re want to check them out. And yes, the pups ALWAYS make things better 💙

I have a great pain med doctor he puts me to sleep when I get shots..I get them from my neck to foot yes my body so messed up thank God my pain med doctor understands all my body pain..

I literally looked up 'hip injections' on youtube to see if people survived it-it looks so scary. I'm getting mine next month so wish me luck 🤞👆

Good luck! The injections aren't that bad, I just had a very painful recovery. However, I kinda knew that was going to happen since it has happened before when I've gotten joint injections. Keep ice and a heating pad on standby, and be ready to sleep a lot those first two days lol. But you got this!!
