Roof mounted solar panels are great but in case you need to park in the shade, a portable solar panel can come in handy if you need to charge by setting up just the battery and panel in the sunlight.

I'm never sure about parking up in industrial estates. Last time I tried it was down in Cornwall. Spotted the place on Park4Night, settled down and then at about 9pm a bunch of workmen turned up and started making a racket like they were cleaning the road right outside my door. When I got up the next morning they had painted a brand new set of double yellow lines either side of my car.

With a bit of jiggery pokery you can connect the delta to a split charge relay so it’s charging as you’re driving. Need to put a certain solar connector so it thinks it’s a panel charging it. Can’t remember where I saw it but it’s U tube somewhere.

You need to get a couple of Lithium batteries and a DC-DC charger sorted. Keeping the Ecoflow charged was a bit of a pain for me to be honest.

Yup. We’ve been full time on our Sprinter for over a year, mostly Boondocking. 510w Solar, 500ah of batteries. No gas. 4g Bosch hot water heater, dual burner induction cooktop, air fryer, insta-pot. We would have it any other way. Thanks for the videos. 😊

Get portable solar panels. Renogy have a good standalone setup. What no one ever talks about is in really hot conditions, panels lose efficiency. If you have a portable set up you can angle them to get maximum efficiency in a heatwave.
