The child is legally adopted so technically she has no legal rights to her, if she didn't return the child she would have gone to jail. @DonGloJean Tzar so correct. This child is at an age where she will rebel against rules. Therefore her biological mother will try to be different than the adoptive parents, just to gain her love. Theres two side to the story. It would be helpful if the adoptive parents state their case. Irrespective of the numerous comments and the adopted parents been tried by john public based on the biological mother side of the story but theres more this than just what we all assumed. A lady once foster a child and the mother hunt down the child through school and then to the home. The mother told the child to call social services and told them that she is not comfortable and the lady husband trying to molest her. Instantly the child was removed out of the home until further investigation. In the end the child confess that it was her mother that coached her into the allegations. It was a happy ending because the foster parents was willing to took her back in her family. These cases need to investigate without taking sides. What I find a bit strange is , why didnt the biological mother didnt report it to the police of the abused the child suffered ? Why kept her and hide her until an alert been sent out of her been missing ?

No up more with that fam. More like billions. I am doing counselling and for one of my course I had to unpack some things that I suppressed. When I started to unpack some of the nuisances-of the course. I went into a state of depression. There are so many children suffering in Jamaica and some people’s solution is to leave it to God. Dat nuh wuk fi everybody.

Mi feel sorry fi di birth-mom, BUT, mothers cant just give away or lend them pickney away when they cant handle, and then just expect the world fi just GI DEM BACK DEM PICKNEY once the mother THINK she is "better" now, then when the mother drop off again in a bad situation expect fi just GI WEH or LEND di pickney away again until the mother get better. It breaks my heart hearing a strong mother talk like this, it couldn't have been easy for her. I'm sending so much love to her, she's love, courage, strength, calmness, success, purity in heart and mind. All our journeys are unique and I pray for her with my entire soul. 🙏🏽❤

Further, this was an unlawful adoption that the government should be taking on. These are some of the many issues within Jamaica. Imagine injustice and criminal behaviour presented so clear and nothing happens. Where is child protection services right now to intervene and assess this child's mental health and safety at her current home? Address the unlawful adoption, because in a very strong sense, it is kidnapping and bribery of a mother trying to provide for her child, whilst being under the impression that they were assisting her. These cases will need to be handled head-on and she NEEDS to be home with her maternal mother. The system in the country NEEDS an overhaul to protect the people, especially children.

I can attest to what her daughter told her...I was in a simular situation with my (legal) adopted mother in the UK... she would discriminate my mom and family and treat me like crap... I tried killing myself on several occasions because of lack of food clothing etc... the day I got the chance to meet my mom and dad...I ran away... Its a serious thing to be adopted whether by family members or friends... its a long long story ... sad as ever but God was in my corner and I overcame... I believe her daughter...often times because they're so young nobody wants to believe them....she needs to go back to her mom regardless of the fact...

This mom is perfectly right. My father took me from my mom when I was 2 years old and I grow up not knowing who my mom was. When I was 9 the lady I stayed with after school showed me my mom as she walked pass one day. My mom took me to her house and I met my younger brothers and sisters, than she took me back. My dad found out and I got the worst beating of life. Everyday after school I stood at the gate just to see her pass but over the years I never saw her again. The lady said my mom said she will never walk there again because she is protecting me from been beaten. Over the years to come I asked to see my mom, and go visit but I was just cuss out each time. I was a bruised verbally, physically and emotionally by my stepmom just for wanting to see and talk to my mom. I grew up with that pain and emptiness now am 51 and I still struggles with that depression and mental issues. They need to allow the child to see and talk to her mom.

Exactly! I am a child protection worker. And I witnessed it all the time. The moment the child enters preteen/teenage years, identity starts forming. And if the child is aware that he/she was adopted, majority of the time they will seek out their biological parents-especially the mother. At this point, the risks are not as imminent and the child now has a voice-she wants to be with her mother. I believe that her wishes should be considered and not just pushed aside.
