The second I saw the blue yarn I bet to myself that’s the one that you would pick 😂 but when you went with the pink I was surprised and a little disappointed. It’s a lot of hard work pulling all the pink out to start over But now I’m proud and vindicated since you switched and ultimately went with the blue anyway 🤣🥳🥳

When you first showed the yarn choices I was screaming BLUE!! I was a little surprised you went with the pink because it looked so muted. I'm not sure I would have been able to start over after how far you got, but really happy that you did the blue contrasts so well with the yellow of the blanket!!

i love how you show the entire process of your project, including when you decide to go back and redo something. it's really encouraging to watch a talented and prolific crafter like you make mistakes and alter your work. it makes me feel better about having to undo half of the crochet project i was working on for hours because i realized i was crocheting too loosely and it made it get too wide

Jack is so cute!!! Small dogs do not like the snow touching them when they use the bathroom. My rat terrier didn’t even like to get her paws wet! We had to clear a spot in the yard for her. That might be an idea for Jack. Just clear a spot so the snow doesn’t touch him. Love the hand sewing idea.

I almost immediately thought, this would be a great homeless outreach project, since a blanket coat is much more socially acceptable than just draping in a blanket on the cold. Was just looking at An-Erin pattern yesterday to use an old Pendleton blanket on. Your coat came out perfectly...10/10! BUT...I think you need to make two puppy coats the same way because your fur babies need to wear SOMETHING in that cold weather. We live on the Washington coast and winters have lots of cold rain and out Jackwawa hates it. We and him are transplants from Calif., and he holds it forever because he hates the cold rain. We got a "craft show" canopy and put it up in our backyard and he now is fine "going" under it. It has sand bags to keep it from flying into the ocean on a windy day. I bet you see the blanket stitch in your sleep! Congrats on your coat!!

I love it! It looks great. 10 out of 10 for sure. I purchased a slightly similar pattern that uses embroidery thread to sew it together. I have some vintage cream colored boiled wool and hibiscus pink embroidery thread. I haven't started yet because frankly I'm terrified. I've never sewn anything before, not even a button. Why I thought I could do this is a mystery. Seeing your video is very encouraging even though you make everything look easy and I'm not as talented as you at fiber arts. A rambling way to say thanks for the video. Now to summon up my courage.😁

I made a coat out of a checked wool picnic blanket when I was a teenager. I found the pattern in a magazine and it very cleverly used every single piece of the blanket (with no spare remnants left at all) by cutting it in a specific way. It also had the blanket tassels on the collar and pockets. Everyone used to comment on the coat when I wore it and I absolutely loved it. It was so warm and cosy. I wish I still had it now or could get hold of a copy of the pattern so I could remake it. Sadly despite doing lots of searches online I have never managed to find that pattern or anything like it. Your coat is the nearest to it so I may make one like this for myself. I love it. Xx

Love the jacket. Nice choice with the blue yarn. I was surprised you decided the pale rosewood pink first. ….. quick comment. I made a similar project and l washed my blanket on a gentle, cool wool cycle in my washing machine. But it could also be cleaned at the dry cleaners. I think blankets from the thrift store can be quite „dirty“ or „contaminated“ 😅 from whatever the former owner did with it. Use it for Picknick or in the car, etc. …. Thanks for sharing this video… Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 🙋🏼♀️

Have you tried a little patch of fake grass inside for Jack? You could put a pee pad under it so it would be easy to clean. I used to have a wiener dog who refused to pee in the rain and I ended up having to put a little patch of fake grass on my patio where the rain didn't hit for him. Love that you took him to the vet to find out he is just holding his pee, I once paid several hundred dollars at the vet (same dog) to find out that he was not losing his hearing, he was just ignoring me lol!

I filmed this a couple weeks ago now but once the snow went away, he actually started peeing normally outside again 😂. The cold and snow I guess was a big shock for him as well as having a new home. But he did got 3 full days of only peeing once a day, so that really scared me. Legit once every 24 hours on the dot. Jan 4th update: HE'S POTTY TRAINED NOW AND PEES REGULARLY 🙏
