Despite how common/ popular this species is in the hobby they will always hold a special place in my heart. My focus has shifted and I no longer have my Crested Gecko, but they are awesome to keep! Congratulations on a great start to the season, these babies are stunning already, I’m sure they will develop beautifully as Lilly Whites always do. The transformation is remarkable! In regards to your Question of the day, my main goal/ aspiration for the future is to keep native UK/ European species outdoors in spacious, natural enclosures and perhaps breed some too although that is not a priority for me personally at this time.

I know there's a few colubrid snakes in the UK, are there many large lizards?

Excited to see what native species you’re looking into! I’ve never found much success finding native reptiles either in the wild or captive in the uk 😅 definitely a rarity

There are TONS of great skinks, lizards, snakes who are native to places like Minnesota (blue tailed skink) and others that really should be bred and made pets. They are numerous and hardy due to harsh winters they live through.

They are so adorable! I rescued a Bold jumping spider out of my recycle bin and brought it inside. My son named him Steve. Well a week later Steve laid an egg sac. Now I have like 100 baby bold Jumping spiders and as soon as they are big enough they will be released since they are native.

QOD: I don't currently have time or space for more reptiles so no breeding for me. If I ever did I would want to be increasing captive bred numbers in the trade which would normally source wild-caught as I do believe there is space for small scale reptile breeders to do a lot of good in that realm.

My hatchlings just arrived (100 days!) after they were laid! I hear that the usual time is 60-70 days, with 45 being the shortest time, and like 150 days being the longest. I just thought, wow! That's a long time they stayed in the egg. I expected them to be laid a month ago honestly, but around 100 days I guess would be average to long time.

Congratulations. Those geckos are very cute and we are waiting how they will develop. Although I have a male crested gecko for years, I had never the chance to breed him. He has a very nice structure. He stands apart from many recently produced smaller geckos with less crests. Just like your own geckos that have a very nice structure. This is a rare thing nowadays. I’m not currently breeding any reptiles though I would love to breed my leopard geckos but, I have 5 females and one male who’s about 16 years old now so I’m thinking I’d probably need a younger male to have a good chance now. I am however having some success breeding some of my fish, my kribensis cichlids are just raising a fresh spawn right after i grew out and rehomed their last brood, as well as that my Congo tetra and pea puffers have also been spawning regularly but alas I can’t collect or even find the eggs before they’re eaten but I’m hopeful to have a few baby puffers appear one day :) The cresties are looking so pretty and lovely! Can I ask how you can identify a lily white from hatchling?
