Plurals in English have an ‘s’ at the end of the word, right? Not always! You are going to be surprised at all the words that are plurals that don’t have an ‘s’. For example, “people”, “teeth”, “children”, “men” and “women” are always plural. On the other hand, many words look like they might be plurals but are not. For example, “everybody”, “everyone”, and “nobody” are singular. In this grammar lesson, I will cover all these words and more, and you will have a better understanding of which words in English are plural and which words are singular. We will also talk about uncountable nouns, which are words that cannot be counted with numbers even though there may be many of them. Take the quiz on this lesson at www.engvid.com/surprising-plu...

Mukesh Tiwari I get what you are trying to say but it has nothing to do with courage to say that you make mistakes while learning something new. I make a living teaching people how to speak French and I have to remind them every single day that mistakes are a part of the process. Native speakers (English, French,...) make mistakes with their own native language. I started learning English when I was 27, I now teach in English, my business is in English and I still make mistakes. There is no progress without mistakes. So he can say whatever he wants, it tells more about him than about me.

Hi Ronnie, I've been teaching English for 18 years so far, you are totally right about how we, Spanish speakers , try to figure out English. However, I must say that I had never heard about uncountable nouns such as fish, deer, and sheep; I've always taught them as irregular plural forms, the same with man, woman, or children. I understand uncountable nouns are those that need a container or measuring unit to be counted. You're a great teacher, I love your work! Greetings!

I was so shocked that I looked for more information on internet and I'd like to share with you these three results stating shrimp is countable as well: - www.dictionary.com/browse/shrimp - www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/shrimp - dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/learner-english/shrimp I love your slang classes, bad words, nusty words, dirty words etc. English speaking "tryers", like me, must express ourselves in a different, bad and good situations.
