The practical effects in this movie are so badass from Freddy’s’ resurrection, the pizza scene, Sheila’s death, the cockroach kill, and Freddy’s death like ugh the creativity is what I love in these movies. Just so gross and awesome to watch. Alice is my favorite final girl in this franchise she is such an underrated final girl.

I know this isn't the best movie in the franchise, but it's my absolute favorite! I always say this is the action-movie version of the Nightmare series...the camera work, the effects, the pacing, the use of pop music, it's all top-tier! This is peak Freddy too, a perfect balance of his evilness and his ability to deliver punch lines. I'm glad you picked up on how he was brought back...Kincaid's dog was just the visualization of his resurrection, but it was the constant fear that he was coming back (mainly Kristen's) that really gave him life again. It definitely sucked that the entire Dream Warriors cast died, but I really liked the new group and Alice is my favorite Final Girl of the series behind Nancy. She was shy and lacked confidence and had to find her inner strength (with the help of her dead friends lol) to fight Freddy. Part 5 is definitely a dip in quality, but it's still a good continuation of Alice's story and explores some themes that you wouldn't expect an 80s slasher movie to go near. Looking forward to seeing your reaction to it as always!

This is the transition from when the one liners just take over and Elm Street becomes pure camp. And they're fantastic. Just turn your brain off and have a good chuckle 🤣
@efrensoto32732 ай бұрын
No. From Nightmare on Elm Street 4 onwards the decline of the franchise began. In the first 3 films Freddy was a dark and evil character, who barely spoke, spoke very little, his humorous lines were minimal and did not take up space from his dark side. Those films were pure horror. In Nightmare on Elm Street 4 they turned Freddy into a kind of clown who talks too much, they gave him too much dialogue, unfunny jokes, and a very serious nerd laugh. From Nightmare on Elm Street 4 onwards the saga is no longer horror but fantasy. Very regrettable. A HORROR MOVIE SHOULD SCARE YOU, IT SHOULD NOT MAKE YOU LAUGH, JUST AS A COMEDY MOVIE SHOULD MAKE YOU LAUGH, IT SHOULD NOT SCARE YOU. IF A HORROR MOVIE MAKES ME LAUGH BUT DOESN'T SCARE ME, THEN IT'S A BAD MOVIE. IF I WANT TO WATCH A MOVIE TO LAUGH, THEN I GO AND WATCH A COMEDY MOVIE, NOT A HORROR MOVIE. I WANT TO BE SCARED, TO BE DISTURBED, NOT TO LAUGH.

@7:05 to answer your question on why Kincaid was still able to dream despite Freddy being dead its because Freddy wasn't truly dead. Freddy gets his powers from fear and memory from the kids that still think of him.despite Freddy being "apparently" dead was still able to come back through kincaids dreams because of what I explained earlier. so Freddy was able to resurrect himself even though there was no direct presence with the physical world. so because Kincaid still feared Freddy he basically exploits that was able to come back.

"Welcome to Wonderland, Alice." Fun Fact: Was #1 at the box office for three consecutive weeks upon release. Music Enthusiast Fact: Not only did actress Tuesday Knight co-star in the film, she also performed the theme song. Automobile Enthusiast Fact: Dan's (Danny Hassel) truck is a 1959 Ford F100. Kristen's (Tuesday Knight) car is a 1988 Volkswagen Cabriolet I (Type 1). Practical Effects Fact: The climactic scene where the souls violently free themselves from Freddy's (Robert Englund) body was filmed using a 20-foot mechanical torso, so that the heads moving around in Freddy's chest could be played by real actors and stuntmen. Casting Notes Fact: First film in the franchise where Robert Englund received top billing in the opening credits. According to everyone interviewed about the movie in the documentary Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy (2010), no one really knows why Patricia Arquette didn't come back. A few theories included her agent asking too much money, her being pregnant at the time, and her already committed to Far North (1988). Arquette finally commented in 2017: "They asked me to come back, but at that time I was starting to break into kind of meatier roles. I had just done a movie of the week about teen pregnancy called Daddy (1987) and I was really liking getting deeper with my work. I love the horror genre and the Freddy franchise, but I was chomping at the bit to try other things as an actor."

This movie has the coolest Resurrection and final defeat in this movie. They built a huge Freddy and all the people you see poking through his chest on close ups are real folks behind the stretchy wall sheet! Also the trio got killed because the recast didn’t work!

Boilers are giant ovens that heat a water tank to move hot water or steam through the pipes in large buildings to provide hot water in plumbing and warm air using radiators. Modern hot water heaters are more efficient but work in a similar way. If you want a great explanation of how a boiler room works, read Stephen King's The Shining. The boiler room was removed from the Kubrick film, though.

While this isn't the best Freddy movie, I do think it's the best looking Freddy movie. I love its aesthetic. I feel this is Freddy in his most iconic form, at the height of his popularity. It used to be my favorite as a kid, but now, while it's fun, I can see it's weakly written.
