I am a Talent Manager. One of my clients is Leslie Hoffman. She is most known for her role in this movie, as the Hall Guard. However, this is not the only time she worked with Wes. She did another movie with Wes called Deadly Friend and then she got the call in 97 to do another movie… Scream 2. She was the stunt double for Laurie Metcalf’s Mrs. Loomis/Debbie Salt and most people don’t realise that she was just hired as a stuntwoman for Nightmare because it was cheaper than hiring “actresses”.

so glad to see you covering this franchise. 2 is my favorite for a variety of reasons and I'm so excited for it. Fun fact- Glen's death with the blood geyser was accomplished by making his room in way where a they could use a crane system to fully rotate the whole room and flip it right-side-up or upside-down. But it actually wound up freaking out and didn't completely rotate the right way, hence why when Glen's mom comes in, the blood is pooling to the side.

Freddy is definitely a creep as well as a demon😆. These movies are great, some of them can get campy, but it's horror and it's the outrageous 80's. You will see David Arquette's(Dewey from the Scream movies) real life sister Patricia star in Part 3 - one of the best movies in the franchise. I liked all of these from 1- 6 and New Nightmare. I did not like the remake, but I loved Freddy vs Jason. Happy to see you start your journey down Elm Street. Thanks for a funny reaction!

Hot Take Fact: The scene where Freddy (Robert Englund) is set on fire, chases Nancy (Heather Langenkamp) to the top of the stairs, falls back down, and starts back up again, was all shot in one take, with several cameras, and was the most elaborate fire scene ever filmed up to that time. Stuntman Anthony Cecere won best stunt of the year for the scene. Based on the first films, it’s hard not to choose Nancy… only because she had to fight something inconceivable and invulnerable. Sidney was a badass in the first movie, especially flipping the call on Billy and putting on the robes. But Sidney did have some help from Gale and Dewey. Nancy was riding solo! Great question! I may have to rank some final girls at some point because that was fun to think about!

The concept of not being able to fall asleep or else he would get you was terrifying to me. I suppose it still is. I know this movie can be dated, btu it still holds up. Love how strong Nancy is. One of my favorite deleted scenes of this movie was when Nancy confronts her mother about Freddy, it basically plays out just like how it was in the film but with more added dialogue. Nancy says something more on the lines of: “What gave you the right to take the law into your own hands?” Her mother replies with: “Because he took it into his hands to kill our kids. Glen, Rod, Tina… they all had a brother or sister once. You too, Nancy. You weren’t always an only child.” Imagine adding this scene into the film. It would had gave it a bit more of an emotional punch for Nancy to find out that she was not the only child like she thought and the fact that her friends were also not the only children either. Again, we may not fully agree with the way in how the parents killed Freddy but it comes off as understandable. It also explains more of why Nancy’s mom became an alcoholic and was almost always drinking. I don’t understand why that was cut out of the movie!

Technically micronaps were never an actual plot point until the remake and he didn’t miss anything. Bob Shaye’s tacked on sequel hook muddles the message of the ending and leaves the state of the characters ambiguous. Which is why Wes Craven famously disliked the sequel hook.

Just Subscribed as I found this channel just a little Food for thought the mother didn't tell her daughter Nancy the whole truth about Freddy's backstory if you want the full backstory just go and find Nightmare on Elm Street the T.V. series and start with the episode called No More MR. Nice Guy which then go into episode 2 to finish this 2 part 1st episode classic on the very beginning of Freddy's trail of terror in the Nightmare Franchise. Just a little FYI the TV series has 44 episodes and it began in 1988 if you want to find out who Freddy really is . The thing with this Great movie reaction is was How many jump scares you were going to have since this was your 1ST time watching and as a result i would say that if you watch the complete Nightmare on Elm Street there will be plenty of more of Jump scares while watching your next choice in the Nightmare on Elm street movies along the way.

It is a wild ending but it didn’t hurt the movie for me. Fits in with just how wild Freddy and his abilities are!
