I feel this video hardcore. And worst of all, a lot of people will just be like "Oh just love your hair!" or "You just have to find the right product". Ummmmm that's what the heck I've been trying to do! A lot of people seem to like dismissing the fact that type 4, especially 4c can be super hard to deal with. When no other group of people on the planet has to go through the freaking olympics just to get a style that lasts more than 1 day, you can't help but get pissed off at times.

Have you considered sister locs or dread locs? If I was in your shoes I would do it in a heart beat. The hardest part would be the installation (if you do sister locs) but once your locs are set its all good. No more wash n gos and failed twistouts, just wake up and start your day. Either way I hope you can come to peace with your hair, whichever method you chose. Good luck sis:-)

I have 4c hair, the thickest, curliest, and I love it. Whenever I do my hair my mood is lifted SO much. Maybe you just haven't found the right routine yet. Your mindset may be stopping you!! Remember to moisturize, this will make your hair so much softer as well.

At least you can be open and honest about how you feel about your hair. A lot of people like to scream "self-hate" if you hate your hair, and that's not always the case. It's more about manageability. Managing coarse/kinky textures is challenging and time consuming. It takes a lot of muscle and patience.
@CamilliaYvette7 жыл бұрын
I know. I hear that a lot. I don't hate myself or how my hair looks, when it comes out the way I want. It's all of the work and time that it takes. And then on top of that, the styles never come out the way I would like. Thanks for commenting babes!

There also a misconception that every person who has kinky coiled hair has thick coarse high density hair, one size fits all of 4c naturals and it not the case. The moment you have low density or thin hair all the information drys up on how to style and deal with natural hair.
@drea61315 жыл бұрын
@Marianne Macharia I wouldn't just tell someone that they can't do wash and go's because their hair is 4c. There are plenty of people who have 4c hair that achieve bomb looking wash an go's and their hair is thriving. 4c hair comes in different varieties too. So it depends on the person.

Instead of helping and guiding her through her frustration, you guys in the comments are tearing her down for being blatantly honest and real which most natural hair youtubers don't. Y'all struggling with 4c hair because y'all over here trying to make your 4c hair do things it wasn't designed to do! Moisturized the damn hair, leave it alone and let it do what it wants to do. The more time you spent manipulating and trying to make your hair do things it doesn't want to do, the more frustrated you'll be. I've been wearing my hair lose and undefined for a year. No protective styles here. No flat irons here. Just 4c realness. The first step to loving your 4c hair, is accepting your 4c hair. And this isn't directed at anyone, cause I've been there before..that's why I big chopped 3 times.

Sheesh! I just came across this vid and subbed because I feel your pain. I became natural unintentionally because I was wearing braids and other protective styles all the time while trying to decide what my next haircut/style would be. I looked up and realized I'm like 95% natural. I just wore it out for the first time today and it's slicked back in a bun. I went through all kinds of BS for literally hours last night trying to get this thick azz 4C hair slicked back! 😣 After noticing the new inches I have, I am starting to embrace my hair but the 4C struggle is still real and I can't say that I'll never relax again. U Miller Your right some of them on here are coming off like bullies. I am 4c and my hair frustrates me all the time. It stays not being moisturized but i still love my hair. Ive learned what it likes which is heat. A deep conditioner with steam. Steam for our 4c hair is perfect becuase it allows moisture in out stubburn hair and i love it.(( Also perms have a history of causing cancer and burning the scap)) Thats why i just prefer to press my natural hair out when i want to which is rare. But i love her honesty. Im always honest and blunt.

@ZalinaW7 жыл бұрын
It's your hair at its natural state. You don't have to do a lot to "natural" hair. Keeping it moist, keeping it clean and conditioned. That's all. Your frustration is due to you want your hair be like someone else's hair. "We" want a different texture than our own texture. It goes back to when "we" were told there is "good" hair and "bad" hair. If your hair is kinky, then it's "bad" hair because it's not straight or curly. If you can't accept that you have a head of kinky, thick hair that is not intended to be straight nor curly then you will always be frustrated. Self acceptance is a hard pill to swallow, when all you see and hear is straight and curly hair are good, but kinky hair is bad. I've hated my hair and decided to stop telling myself "I hate my hair" because it plays with the overall view of myself. The struggle is self acceptance.

This is the soapbox of a holier-than-thou "natural." You've completely disregarded this woman's clearly detailed personal experiences, in order to emphasize that she "denies" her hair texture as a result of some sort of deeprooted self loathing. -she last attempted to straighten her hair an entire year prior; -expressed that the time consumption of haircare is disruptive to her scheduled responsibilities; -that her personal experience in managing her hair has proven more strenuous than other 4C hair types (& would be satisfied with more options) You're neither in her life or on her scalp to say that her haircare necessities are simplistic and manageable. if she has a tough time dealing with her hair, then that's her truth. She's not to be reduced to her hair, or to have her self-love/importance undermined, because you find a cathartic rant--out of reasonable frustration--to be some sort of heresy, or a solidarity breach.

The first step is to embrace your hair. It's always going to be ugly and unmanageable if you think your hair is ugly and impossible and that everyone else's hair is better. I've been doing my own hair since I was 13 and am 4C with hair down my back. My hair is the way it is because of trial and error mainly, but also education and embracing what's mine. YvetteLuvsBeauty I don't have 4C but I do know that type 4 hair can be really dry. Maybe try focusing on moisturizing and keeping water in your hair bc ain't nothing harder to style than dry hair. Try distilled water after a wash, balance your hair's PH with aloe Vera spray. Maybe try using all natural hair products. Your hair could be reacting to chemicals in the products you use. Think about finger detangling rather than using a comb. Figuring out your hair's personality is annoying! Girl I feel you and I know! But constant moisture (try LOC method and over saturate your hair with water and cream) it will probably change your life and attitude. I hope this helps ❤️

Jazmyn Zahara it doesn't have to be , once you keep your regimen simple, it won't be. Just need to cleanse your hair and scalp, put the moisture back in after (deep conditioners, conditioners) , moisturize when you feel like , seal that up (I use grease , it stays moisturized for a whole week) and put it in a protective style or just leave it as it is, but stretch it to prevent fairy knots etc. and just adjust your regimen to your life, like if you do something daily , weekly , maybe even monthly. And if you protective style with synthetic hair like braids , or weaves, just keep your scalp and hair moisturized. You don't have to be a product junky to have healthy hair, do what works for you and your hair will thank you for that. I recommend JourneyToWaistLength , and watch her video about how to build a regimen. Yw

Sincere Hoodlum it is simple. Protective styling , keeping hair stretched and moisturized , and a clean scalp. That's it. You just have to retain your length to see the growth, and those are things that help you and your hair with that. I understand that having 4C could be either a blessing or a curse, because I have it too. I'm a school girl and I have a very busy life but I still manage to maintain my hair , even with the little time I have. I have thin strands and dense thick hair , which makes it a lot more difficult to maintain. But I'm just saying, when she find that regimen she will regret disliking/hating her hair. Believe me , I went through that stage too, I even wanted to relax it. But now I love my hair :)

I don't even like my hair relaxed and don't want to pay for it, but I've considered going back because this is TOO MUCH. Being natural as a 4z has been demoralizing. Honestly, my hair is RARELY cute. My hair regrew from big chop to the same length it was before (not an inch more), and I spent more time on it now than I ever did. The only difference is that I dont have to worry every 8 weeks if a perm will burn my hair out. Have you -- or anyone - found a solution for us? Literally NONE of even the 4A styles work on my hair.

Tbh you're probably having issues with moisture which is why you're not liking your hair. My hair used to be SO dry but I didn't really care. So I never had any issues with not liking my 4c hair. I've begun a new hair routine with lots of moisture (the LCO method using water, Cantu Shea Butter, and Coconut Oil). I do so many fun things with my hair and you just have to be creative! You need to nurture your hair for it to grow. Coils may even appear once you moisturize it properly. Your hair looks very dry in this video (not trying to hate) so perhaps you should try a new routine. Here are some tips for detangling I have for you: 1. Make sure you've sectioned your hair before you start anything. 2. Make sure you've pre pooed, shampooed, and conditioned, and applied leave in conditioner before you try to detangle. 3. Detangle in 4 sections. Your hair doesn't seem to be too short so 4 should be fine. Use your fingers and the slip from your leave in conditioner will help you not rip your hair. Washing your hair should not take more than 35 minutes (15 minute pre poo, 10 minute shampoo, 10 minute condition). 4c hair is not hard to deal with if you properly moisturize it. Don't try to get it as tangle free that you'll be able to run a rattail comb through it. It's pointless and you'll end up breaking your hair. Try wearing your hair in medium sized twists or bantu knots. An afro is also lovely!! Learn to love your hair. Any problems you're having can be fixed. Feel free to ask me any questions

I would suggest learning the porosity of your hair if you don't already know it really explained helped me understand my hair and its behaviors, Also I understand washing your hair and taking care of it can be time consuming but I would suggest taking the time to do it(deep conditioning, hot all treatments, oil rinse,d.i.ys) and then leave it in twists or braids for a while but make sure you keep them moisturized under your wigs. Since your hairs damaged it might take some extra tlc but the healthier your hair gets the less time you have to spend on it because it's already in good shape

It just takes time and patience to figure out what your hair likes. Once you get that part, it's really not that serious. And I'm speaking as someone with very kinky "4 c d e f" hair. The key is moisturize moisturize moisturize. I personally don't think my type of hair is meant for "wash & go's" either.... and that's the other thing, we have to change our mentalities and erase the false expectations from our minds. Stop expecting your hair to look like everyone else's and take the time to appreciate and understand your own hair. I can't really relate because I was natural most of my life except 7 years (college and 3 yrs after), but it just saddens me that anyone can literally hate something that is apart of them because of societal conditioning. And I'm not being judgmental, it's something that does make me sad. When we have daughters, how can we teach them to love their hair if we can't learn to do that ourselves. You wouldn't want her to think there is something inherently wrong with how she was born and that starts by example and embracing your own hair from within.

One word of advice tho... I only wash my hair in sections and it makes life so much easier. Another thing, I've learned that I must dedicate one particular day to washing my hair. The night before, I separate it into 6-8 sections, and one by one I spritz the hair with warm water and slather on an ungodly amount of coconut oil (it's dripping everywhere and for that reason I wear old clothes and an old towel.) then twist that section and move on to the next. I don't worry about detangling at this point. Once I'm done I Saran Wrap my hair (lol yes Saran wrap,it does conditioning wonders), go over that with a plastic cap and 1-2 head wraps to keep it sealed, then I go to bed. The combo of the coconut oil and your body heat does it, it the morning your hair is soft and supple and way easier to detangle. I detangle each section and retwist then jump into the shower. I rinse the oil out then shampoo each section, twist and tuck, then go back and rinse each section, twist and tuck, then condition in the same manner. When the conditioner is in all the sections and twisted and tucked, I bathe/soap my body up. By that time 3/4 minutes have passed. I then comb thru each section with a wide toothed comb (the best is tresseme, their conditioners give so much slip! The best detangler imo), and rinse, then move on to the next section. The pre wash from the night before only takes about 30 minutes. The actually wash process about 1-2 hours. But this makes your hair so manageable and takes away the stress that comes with washing it as a free un-sectioned fro. By the time u get out the shower you don't have to detangle because you detangled before and by keeping it in sections it remained detangled. When you're done, you can either moisturize and let it air dry or moisturize and tension blow dry. Either way, I do that step by sections as well, one by one. It's not quick, but it works the best and the end product is worth it. If you are someone who grew up with your hair permed all your life, it will be hard at first but it's not impossible. It's like dating a new person and starting a relationship. You have to get to know that person and learn how to love them, and it doesn't happen over night. It's a process that will have ups and downs, setbacks and break throughs, even after a year sometimes.... that's the same concept with your hair. Don't be discouraged. And when life gets busy and you feel overwhelmed, get some braids or a weave for a month to take a break, but don't neglect your hair and lose sight. Keep an emergency wig handy also, for days that shit doesn't go as planned and you gotta go out to work or wherever. KZbin is a great guide, find ppl who have similar hair to you and take tips from them, don't have false expectations, just use trial and error and you will find your own routine that suites you and your hair best. Good luck! Hope this helps.

As a 4c natural, I feel this way sometimes. When I'm having a hate relationship with my hair, I put it in a puff and I don't worry about it for awhile. That's one of the benefits of having long 4c hair. It took me awhile (like years) to appreciate my hair in puffs because all my natural hair gurus are doing twist-out, bantu knot out, etc...all types of hairstyles in under 30 mins. I have learned to let that go and I'm still learning. Anyways, good luck :)

Aww girl.. I don't have the exact same hair type but I feel you!! I went on vacation & it was humid and my braid out was not digging that weather. It lost ANY definition it did have, got SO puffy/frizzy.. it was the worst thing ever. Then when I was at Disney world looking at all the people with long straight hair I was like -_- it probably took 2 seconds to do your hair while I was prepping mine the night before for SO long only to have the humidity mess it up, very frustrating! Also in regards to a wash & go, I hear you on that too. I wouldn't be going anywhere, I just figured out a new method but I do it the night before & thankfully it has been working out for me. Also don't feel bad about the colour, the same thing happened to me. When I dye it, it doesn't get as light as I want it to be so I'm just going to get it professionally done. All the best! xo

I feel you. I have super thick 3c/4a hair and The summertime is NOT my friend. I always spend a lovely penny on box braids every summer to avoid that reality. I hate how any drop of moisture in the air at all; rain or summer humidity makes my cute wash n go just shrivel up into a frizzy cotton swab looking 2 times shorter than it is. Can't do anything with it.

My hair is type 4 (4b, 4c mixed), and after hearing you talk about how "long your hair takes" left me with question marks. 3 hours is not really that long to do natural hair. my twist out (whole wash day included) takes about 4-5 hours, and I think an issue with many type 4c naturals is a lack of patience. Ladies, stop expecting to get in and out of the shower w/ your hair done in 10 minutes like white woman. it just aint gonna happen. Try to develop a regimen that can work better with your schedule, but once I set aside time for me to do my hair, and developed a regimen it was not hard at all. Just be patient. Hair care is a part of your personal hygiene.

I've been there. I'm 4C as well. What I've been doing recently are twists (with my own hair). I wash my hair, moisturize it with coconut oil and rosemary oil, blow dry it (you don't have to blow dry but it prevents shrinkage/adds length), and do several twists. It turns out nice! I feel like my hair has growth from me doing this! From the washing to the twisting, it takes about 5 hours but you only have to do it once every week (or week and a half). Moisturize the twists, especially the ends, every night with coconut oil, or any oil of your choice. I use a mixture of coconut oil and rosemary oil. Rosemary oil is an essential oil that is known to promote major hair growth! I stumbled across your video today and I don't know what your faith is, but this is what I believe: if God created our hair, then He knows the solution for how to make it grow! Lately I've been asking the Lord to help me find the right products and regimen for my hair & so far this coconut/rosemary blend is working!

I felt this hard. I’m definitely what people would consider lazy with my hair. I just hate that I have to do SOOO MUCH to get it to remotely look right. I hate that it has to be defined or twisted or braided or edges have to be laid to be socially acceptable as having my hair “done”. I hate that I prefer to wear my wigs cause I can just throw it on and put a few curls in it and I feel beautiful that way. I just hate that it takes so much time and patience and planning and arm strength just to feel secure and beautiful with what I was given. I just find it unfair that it seems like other people with longer looser and probably healthier hair can do styles and look a certain way but I can’t. It’s just not fair to me. I saw a post on Pinterest of a girl with her hair slicked back in a ponytail, no waves, with a clip and I almost prayed that I could do that but I know I can’t. I wish I could have other styles other than wigs or braids. Anyways this was my little rant

Totally agree. I look like Don King in my natural hair state. I just want silky hair that flows down. I don't want to have to do twist outs, bantu knots etc., do not find it lovely or becoming. Even my Guinea Pigs have silky hair. I've prayed to have my texture changed and asked why for so many years. Song of Solomon talks about hair and how it's long and wavy down her back. I'm definitely not represented.

part 1: i was natural (as an adult) from 8/2008 - 6/2012. for most of that time, i wore twist-outs, but to maintain that fresh look, i re-twisted just about every night. that's what "drove" me back to the relaxer, because i was like if that's what it took for me to maintain my hair, i can't deal, i needed a break! plus, i missed the convenience of straight hair and just wrapping it up every night. i also started experiencing thinning and scalp irritation, which was my seborrhea dermatitis revisiting me. i too, thought my natural hair would be healthier. even having said all that, i will mention that i'd always wanted to go back to natural, but i needed a break, because it was just too much work. so in feb-15, i decided it was time to get back to my roots. this time, i did a big chop. my twa was about 2 inches and that was hella short for me, but i said F it. i was going to take this journey differently this time. it wasn't until one day last year, during sometime in late spring/early summer, that i had finish twisting my hair but needed to run some errands. i felt like a dear in headlights, because i had gone out only once with my own hair in twists and that was during my transition in summer 2007. again, i said F it. i got so many compliments that weekend. i was like wait a minute, i could've been doing this since 2008?! this time, i had done smaller 2-strand twists than i had in the past. this has significantly changed the way i view my hair, myself, cut down my styling time. yes, the initial process is a B****; detangling, washing, blow-drying [because i like the elongated look] and twisting, which usually takes 2-2.5 hrs [i watch a movie], BUT, my hair is healthier for it. i realized that my hair was thinning the first time, because i was manipulating it just about every night! to be continued...

I also think that people forget, it just takes longer to do your OWN hair in general. Washing your hair should never really be an all day process lol, but the natural hair movement has made this seem normal. But this current natural hair movement isn't really about embracing natural hair, it's about trying to get your hair as close to straight as possible without a relaxer. Which is really stupid and defeats the entire purpose of a natural hair movement, especially one that devalues 4c hair. I will say, I really don't think 4c hair is "harder" to manage, it's just that we don't really know how to STYLE our hair and maintain our styles. I've noticed that it's actually very easy for me to wash, condition, detangle, and blowdry my hair, but I'm just completely lost when it comes to styling it lol. Overall, the natural hair movement just needs to get back to basics. I've started using HAIR GREASE again, and my hair has been so moisturized, with very little shedding, which means less detangling I have to do. Now all I need is to learn how to style it. I have not found the "KZbin Naturalista" community helpful at all, so I really had to take a step back from it all.

i know some people on here saying you just lazy but i understand perfectly how you feel. there are quite a bit of people who have hair like this so you not alone. my hair also takes a while hour to wash and detangle. this does not include moisturizing and styling after which take anywhere from 2 to 3 hours. i used to pray literally to have curly hair when i was younger. now i have learned to appreciate my hair for what it is. i see the hours i spend on my hair as theraputic. some me time so to speak. always watch a couple movies while i doing that. most importantly i dont compare my hair to anyone elses. except for educational purposes and maybe some tips. but i dont expect it to look or behave like anyone else's. its like expecting your skin to look like someone else because you black. if you black and you have oily skin you might be more prone to pimples. so you deal with it accordingly. i promise if you learn your hair and love it, it will love you back.

I totally understand the struggle. I've been natural for more than 4 years and my hair is still frustrating me. I loved it when it was super short, I could do a real wash n go but with even just a little bit of length: BAM! PAIN IN THE ASS!!! I feel like with natural hair we have 2 choices : either go back to the creamy crack or accept ALL the flaws of our hair (and they can be A LOT lol 😂). The problem is not really our hair per say, it is our expectations. I think in this case, the expectation is "my hair should be easy". But in reality that ish is complicated AF lol 😂

@expertonmyself7 жыл бұрын
part 2: i recommend wearing 2-strand twists for a month; meaning every time you wash it, re-style it using twists. make sure you're comfortable with the size; small enough to leave alone or style, and big enough to minimize take-down effort and give you a bomb twist-out. :-) leave your hair alone for a while, give it and yourself a break. especially if you often wear wigs and weaves anyway. also, relax on the YT videos. i had to do that, because i thought it was going to be easy to just do what people were doing. nope. everybody's hair, daily life routine, medical, diet, etc are different. so just take a few basic things that you've found half-way work for YOU, be consistent on them and even tweak them a little and just focus on that during the month. the "information" out here is overwhelming and a quite a bit of it is just wrong. up until april of this year, i washed my hair every 10-11 days. i'm at the point now, where i don't have to for 3-4 weeks. i wear twists 75% of that time, then a twist-out for the last week before wash day. 3-4 weeks seems like a long time, but I've adopted the less is more philosophy. i don't use the LOC or LCO methods every day anymore. every 3 days, i massage my scalp with jojoba, my current oil of choice, apply moisturizer and the oil, then re-style it in a protective, goddess braid-like bun. it's been working for me. i started watching videos of yannie the locologist, who specializes in locs, but her less is more/stop doing the most philosophy [actually common sense] has helped me tremendously. check her out on YT and fb; more recent videos on fb. she works out too and knows about the sweat issue, but she doesn't really have that issue, because she doesn't use product in her hair that contributes to build-up, which causes people to have to wash their hair more often. i understand if you get another relaxer; I've been there. i'm actually glad i did that, because when i went natural again, i big-chopped. i swore that i'd never transition again; at least not as long as i did the first time, which was 15 months. I've come to appreciate my hair more and not become as obsessed with it. i just take care of it and let it do what it do. whew! i'm sure these parts are my longest comment posts, ever. *L* take care.

I'm a 4C natural, it's tough and so much work! I blow dry it straight and curl it all the time and oils help me out a lot. Once you get it soft and untangled, it gets easier. It takes a lot of work to get your styles together and managed. But you can do it, just stay on top of it!

When I first went natural my hair was behaving the same way. I am 4 yrs natural as well and I learned that my hair was not properly moisturized nor properly cleaned/conditioned. My hair being super tangled and knotted I learned typically came from being dry due to a lack of using a proper moisturizer. Also, I would suggest going to a professional so they can give you insight on your hair I did and it was a tremendous help and got me on the right track! I've learned that she butter and heavy oils like Jamaican Black Castor oil work WONDERS on my hair and my hair is thriving and my twist outs are AMAZING now. i can't use coconut oil on my hair like a lot of ppl nor a lot of the cheap shampoos/conditioners, I've learned the hard way. I also learned that my vitamin levels weren't the best bc great hair starts on the inside first. This has been my experience and I truly love the place I'm in now having learned MY HAIR. The struggle is VERY real but it can turn in into a pleasant journey 😊

I certainly feel you. I've been natural for about 7 years, 4C, and I still hate my hair. Ugh

Some Natural hair rules... Put water on it detangle it, with a wide tooth comb from the end to the root and leave it alone, no chemicals or harsh manipulation Be okay with how it looks, don't try to change your texture often But.. You can shave it off and wear wigs for the easiest option.

Gurl, thanks for your honesty.. I'm natural and i know it does take time to find the right style, products for your type of hair. I'd suggest you don't wait to go to the salon, a good trim will help with tangling as well. If you need to go back to the relaxer do it.. it's about how you can best manage your hair. Natural hair needs moisture, moisture moisture.. so that may be an issue that your hair isn't getting enough moisture. Why dont you get braids, twists, faux locs since you workout so much..at least for the summer..

I was also thinking that about the salon. I may go sooner rather than later and see if they can save me from the relaxer lol. Thanks for watching!

Dying the hair and using keratin treatments is damaging to the hair. You can't make natural hair do things it doesn't want to do. Moisture will be your best friend and less manipulation.

You really just have to work with your hair and not try to get it to do things that it wasn't meant to do. Find people with hair like yours (density, curl pattern, porosity) and see what they are doing with theirs. And if you decide to relax it again, just be careful not to damage your scalp. If you section your hair into ponytails and wash a section at a time, detangling will be much easier.

And btw,, sometimes moisturizing it and letting "do what it do " turns out ugly ,, do what makes you smile when you look into the mirror

You are not alone✋, 4c hair goes through too many fail style fails, and you can forget about the flat iron!😩 My 4c hair does not want to be tamed but i wouldn't change it😋😊(i do threatened it with the creamy crack if it steps out of line!).

I hate 4c too!! Twist outs, wash n gos, braid outs... I try to love the results but it’s so icky lmao I absolutely hate it and it’s making me feel horrible that I can’t grow a decent head of hair on my own head lol

Gurl, I get it. I think we've all felt this way at some point. I had to stop watching KZbin twist out videos because like you, I wasn't getting the results I was expecting. You are NOT alone.

I realize this video is 5 years old, but I feel EXACTLY the same way. After using relaxers for well over 20 years, with a few breaks inbetween of going natural, I've now been natural for only three months. After trying numerous products, all my hair does is constantly remind me of why I used relaxers in the first place. I also believe my hair is 4D or 4E if those types exist. I don't have the time or inclination to spend hours on my hair just to go out. I want what a relaxer provides which is hair that is easy to take care of. I also don't want to have a lot of different products just to deal with natural hair. One product should be enough, but, of course, it isn't. My next step is to try one, and only one product, a natural hair curl definer. If it doesn't make my hair easier to manage and style, and if it takes more than 30 minutes, then I'm going back to relaxers.
