It's sad to see Adventure Time go out with less fans than it started out with. I remember when the show came out when I was around ten years old, now I'm a teenager and I barely watch Cartoon Network (especially in Britain, we don't get Steven Universe at all) and my mum lost interest in the show alongside me. I grew up with Adventure Time and it's sad seeing an old friend going out with a whimper.

TAOR_DESU Censoring Steven Universe is dumb but I feel censorship of the pretentious Adventure Time seasons are completely reasonable. It forced really depressing and dark concepts every episode, there was literally a nihilism episode (making kids think about how useless everything is at such a young and impressionable age. Great) and episodes with rape overtones. The show is also randomly gory.

If a show seems too gory, I think it makes more sense to censor that, but homosexuality doesn't fall into that same category. It shouldn't be seen as a innopropriate thing. Parents and kids also do have the choice to just switch over to something more kid friendly or turn off the TV. Parents are too closed minded sometimes

The fact that Adventure Time isn't as big as it used to be isn't that surprising. Eventhough there will still be a fanbase, eventually the popularity of most shows fade and the people involved want to go on to do other things. Also, the infrequent airings on Cartoon Network didn't help. I'm also kinda disappointed that Victor and Valentino isn't made in Mexico because I love to see more Mexican animation, but the show does look promising.

Damn I heard about a fan being booed at the Voltron panel for asking about shipping questions, I didn't know it was so bad that they had to shut off her mic and then she kept yelling after that. How embarassing. On another note, while I've lost interest in Adventure Time since 2015, the segment you had at the end made me sad. It's kind of depressing to see a show that was huge in early 2010 just fade out like that. I'm glad the people who worked on it had fun though.

I feel bad for the Voltron actors, three of them were at Momocon 2018. I'm sure they can only take so much of these psycho fans. One chick with magenta hair kept trying to get Joshua Keaton's (Shiro) attention when the line was cut off on Sunday. She kept trying to sneak around behind him and when security prevented that, she took to standing in his line of sight at the end of his line que and held up her fan art. I guess she thought he would just walk down and acknowledge her? Security kept telling her to keep moving, he was done for the weekend, but she kept standing there. Eventually she left. What is wrong with people? I was one of the last people to meet Josh that Sunday, and he honestly looked burned out. Instead of talking to him about "Space Papa" I told him "By the way, for the Horde" and man did his eyes light up. He instantly told me he loved playing his Druid Tauren, what server he was on and his character's name. We chatted about World of Warcraft, since he's the voice of the new Alliance leader. He looked so excited. Btw, also met this really cool youtuber at Momocon 2018. ;) You were awesome to meet, wish I could've chatted longer, but I had to volunteer Autographs soon. I was the Rose Quartz on Friday and we talked about the dark side of my fandom lies on Tumblr. Hope you three return to Atlanta :D

Nearly cried during that part with DiMaggio. With Adventure Time ending it really feels like an era of animation is about to die. We do have current and upcoming shows that are very promising to look forward to but as Pan has said, Adventure time is what kickstarted the revival of Cartoon Network and it's sad that it will be ending soon. I feel bad that I fell off watching it though I'd say Cartoon Network has itself to blame with reruns seemingly never being aired (and I know this is a huge factor for the fanbase dwindling as time went on). I hope CN doesn't do it dirty like the did with the Regular Show finale but we can only hope.

Yes, Adventure Time was huge and influential, but every good thing as to come to an end. And I can see why it feels like its ending will be the end of an era, due to how long it went on, but it makes sense. I feel out of love with the show after I couldn't keep up with all of the new story arcs, but I am tuning into that final episode to give the show and my childhood a good send off. I hope you do also, and let's hope this new era is a good one, because if not, let's make it or the next one even better.

AC 360 Tv sorry but the Ben 10 where he is a teenager is not the original, the original was much prior to this. I doubt this was a promising show as quickly it received a general consensus of "It's okay sometimes, but overall not a good sequel." And I agree I find the Ben 10 sequel, and the other sequels, are not very good. Regardless of it bringing in a new time or not this doesn't explain the nostalgia, nor does it help it. Am example is the first reply in this thread. They write "from their childhood." When addressing adventure time. I question this because that's not nostalgia, if the show is from your child hood then you're a 13 year old kid who thinks they are nostalgic for a show, despite the show existing for most of their life and is still on. Or they really are an older person in their 20's. But if that's the case then the show isn't from their child hood because they would be at least in their late teens when it started. Let's also not forget adventure time didn't usher a new era, it's seen as that now but to refer to it like it was always on a high pedestal is just not right. When the show started it was pretty divided between who likes and doesn't like it. You can look back and say it probably brought in a new era, but to insinuate that it was always like this is just wrong.

I remember when the show came out, I was a sophomore in high school. My friends who don't even like cartoons even loved the show, and we'd all gather at my house to watch the new episodes when they aired. We had some of the best laughs watching that show together. I stuck with it till the end, even though it got a little full of itself and some plotlines went nowhere. That show will always hold a special place in my heart and I honestly can't watch the finale or even that panel without bawling my eyes out, even though I'm a 26 y/o man

That adventure time panel with John DiMaggio getting sad and sentimental, and your own feelings on adventure time, is something I can relate to. Adventure Time got huge when I was in high school and even now the older episodes take me back to being in the cafeteria with friends during a free period surrounded by adventure time merch and hearing them spout iconic lines from the show. It seriously defined my high school experience, at least on a cultural level. I graduated high school, then college, and now I’m an adult looking after both kids and my own parents, and seeing adventure time come to an end is like seeing a casket being closed and lowered into the ground. It really is over. The past really is dead. It’s something you know and understand as it happens, but only when you see the last leaf fall off the tree, even if it’s just in the form of a cartoon ending, it’s only when you witness that happen that you finally FEEL that your youth is gone.

Is it odd to say that I feel sort of sad that the 2010s era of CN cartoons are coming to an end? I never got into Adventure Time, not seen an episode of Steven Universe, saw some of Clarence and Gumball, barely any of Regular Show ... but yet every time I tuned into CN or looked around the internet or interacted with fans of these programs, well it always took me back to my childhood. And the fact a whole generation of children have grown up on these longer than most of my cartoons ever lasted ... it tugs at your heart strings. Edit: Got to see Steven Universe. Didn't like it.

The adventure time thing made me tear up so hard. I followed that show for so many years. I was in FIFTH GRADE when it came out! Marceline got me into stupid goth stuff, Jake’s VA got me into futurama, BMO got me back into Gameboy Games. (My sister grew playing GBA games so my mom let me use them when she grew out of them) I eventually stopped watching when it became apparent that the show had run its course but I will always have a fondness for it. But I also won’t pretend that I was happy with it in its last seasons. I guess when something you love is coming to an end you get hypercritical because you wanna see it be the best you can be, you know?

Cartoons can end on a high-note in our lives but the fandoms will still live on as they leave an inspiration to us all. We all must never forget what made them so enjoyable. It's our love for cartoons that reboots were created even if they are shown from a different perspective or don't meet our expectations. Examples of these are Regular Show, Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Kirby: Right Back at Ya, Teen Titans and more. So if there is a series finale of a cartoon or a program I really love watching, I will remain strong and await for any possible reboots.

I wish people had stayed with Adventure Time after season 6 :( the show definitely recovered from that season, and has been the remarkable show it was since the beginning. I think their handling of certain plot points was underwhelming, but it was the characters who I think always shone through. And as for the writers leaving, Pendleton Ward worked as a writer for a while after he quit being showrunner, and he even boarded two episodes in season 8. Plus, Steve Wolfhard, Seo Kim, Somvilay Xayaphone, Adam Muto, Kent Osborne, Tom Herpich, and some others have been with the show for a long time, and everyone’s acting like the show has all new people when it is those Adventure Time veterans who are still running the show. Plus, the final season has actually brought back writer Patrick Mchale and Rebecca Sugar wrote the song for the finale. I think Adventure Time has very much evolved and also stayed with its roots at the same time. What I personally think killed the show: Jesse Moynihan basically controlling season 6. I just wish people could continue to give it a chance, as it’s disheartening seeing how easily people gave up and moved on. :(
