I somehow made it all the way past iceborne until about Raging Brachy before I learned about tenderizing. Still have no idea how I make it so far into the game without knowing such a basic move lol.

How did u beat shara ishvalda without tenderizing? Unless you sos and everyone else did and u didn't
@johannesnagengast76439 күн бұрын
It’s not a big deal. It just takes a bit longer to down a monster.

I played solo and I didn’t start tenderizing until Fatalis 💀. Mainly bc Insect Glaive doesn’t tenderize until the second attempt and I never acquired a shaver gem until Fatty
@theyloveyoumax9 күн бұрын
@@johannesnagengast7643 a bit longer? Your hits will constantly deflect shara if you don't tenderize lmao

Not to mention, weapons that really benefit from tenderized parts (especially the bonus affinity from wex) like Greatsword and chargeblade have super long tenderizing animations. Without the correct mantles, some endgame monsters just refuse to have openings long enough meaning you have to sacrifice a topple to tenderize a part. It feels awful 😅
@MrTimberwolfsden11 күн бұрын
I use CB and I found that it's effective to tenderize with but you just have to know when to time it like a big attack. There are opportune moments on every monster thus far. You can't just jump in it but do it when they're in a fixed animation or pattern and choose right part for right pattern. Sounds tougher than is but usually it's during their big attacks or something and ya, have to use topples as well.

most monsters have tons of openings, and the added rocksteady/temporal mantle allows you to get the tenderize off almost every time, but some monsters such as AT velkhana/alatreon have ways to completely eat through your mantles which is just free damage you cant get off. I think Wilds tenderize is sooo much healthier and better in every single way (mind you this is just solo hunts, as multiplayer its a lot easier to have a monster not focus you and try to get you off of it).

For me, I love it...especially when u see a speedrun video where runners use a clever way to tenderize while not really slowing down their run... For casual players, it gives us more things to do in a hunt when playing with other ppl... The only thing that i hate abt it is the duration until we need to tenderize agn...before fatalis, the duration is shorter than what we have now...thats it...everything else is ok
@johannesnagengast76439 күн бұрын
Me too, that’s why i barely even do it when I’m solo.

i got a mod that makes tenderized parts last way longer and its way more fun, feels more like a small challenge at the beginning and a punishment for taking too long than a boring task

i do not ever ever use the clutch claw, i made it to fatalis and got it to third phase, thats how far im in the game, i dont know what im missing and i dont want to know.
@AndrewKnoll-g1t11 күн бұрын
If you don’t want to interact with the clutch claw mechanics and still benefit, I’ll share this: when the monster does that step back and drool animation for a few seconds, just grapple on and let go. It gives you a longer opening :)
@MrTimberwolfsden11 күн бұрын
Not using clutch is lame, do you not use swings for mounting or chasing to save stamina? Also, tenderizer mechanic for the CB is wildly satisfying and greatly increases chances to break or severe
@MrTimberwolfsden11 күн бұрын
I also use clutch to catch a running monster by the tail. No you don't, I don't want to chase you around the damn map. You're dying here and now

im not an old player, but i started on emulated freedom unite then p3rd and GU before world, im also a stubborn asshole, mounting is fine since the monster builds an actual resistance to it but ill pass on claw.

It gave the game more depth. RIP clutch claw and tenderizing everything. Can't wait to button smash red zones in wilds..
@cinnqminx9 күн бұрын
tenderizing is not a good mechanic. Wilds tenderize is way better because it's natural and doesn't disrupt the fight as much as it does in World. You can't spam the tenderize mechanic in the actual game because they've stated stronger monsters won't have as many wounds as often as the weak monsters we were fighting in the beta.

@cinnqminx Good opinion 👍

Wilds tenderize mechanic is way better than World in every single way. period. there isn't any possible way you could defend the clutch claw. it is a bad janky mechanic, and im glad we only have slingers/hook claws to collect and use items.

@petercottantail78508 күн бұрын
i wouldn't bother comparing them, it's not really a mechanic, its just there as a wow factor and really just makes multiplayer more salt inducing cause you choose a weapon that gets buffs from wounds but the db main is on the wound frame 1

Hey man your late with this video and opinion but for what it's worth learn how the weapons work and you'll get used to the Clutch Claw Tenderize mechanic it's got pros and cons both tenderizing and other Clutch Claw related mechanics
@vaynep10 күн бұрын
For some weapons clutch claw absolutely suck. CB for example has moves involving the clutch claw other than the basic aiming and shooting, the slinger burst is incredibly clunky for it too since it can only be done after an axe attack. However, you're using lance which has one of the better clutch claw mechanics integrated into it compared to other weapons. Looking at the gameplay, you seem to suck as well which worsens the issue. Being a scrub is alright but judging from the gameplay and what you're saying, seems like you don't know anything about clutch claw and tenderizing for lance either. You should watch some good lancer vids and learn from them, mhwi lance is way better, fun and complex than mhw lance
