@@Life_Way_Wanderer Sunidhi is a legendary singer and i've been a fan since i first heard Mast. But come on.. Ashaji has explored more realms of music than just about any artist in existence lol. Not just because of the size of her career (10,000, 20,000 songs, no one knows).. but who else has recorded songs like Khalaas and Sharara... but also released full classical albums, devotional alums... and ghazal albums with Ghulam Ali lol. Its not even remotely close... go listen to "Dayar - E - Dil Ki Raat Mein " back to back with Sharara lol. But yes, Sunidhi is a historic singer in her own right. Shes the first singer with that type of alto, westernized, raspy voice to become a mainstream artist of hindi cinema. AND shes a PERFORMER.

Lata is undoubtedly most versatile and most talented female singer of India She just didn't want to sing cabre no.s which went to Asha . Geeta Dutt was far more versatile than Asha even in 50s Geeta Dutt sounded so much modern than any of her contemporaries. Another point is that why someone is considered versatile when he touches western music is western music criteria for being versatile. From among Shreya and sunidhi I think Shreya is miles ahead in both range and voice quality though sunidhi is also a fabulous singer .

We grew up listening to their songs and I know for a fact that Shreya and Sunidhi had huge competition at one point. Everybody used to compare them. I still remember reading an interview of Shreya on a Bengali newspaper where the journalist asked her about a conflict with Sunidhi and she said she wouldn't say anything regarding that because she doesn't want to escalate things. It was many years ago. Since then they have never collaborated until very recently. I was overjoyed to see them so candid in this video because both of them are amazing.
