Update6 months and I'm still loving this bench. kzbin.infoUgkxo_64lVTGMk7y4aXTPxPOcQ3YTLyQ6kYV I use it almost daily. I've gotten used to the small wobble and it's no problem at all. Love the storage, it folds right next to my weight set in the garage and hardly takes any space. I wish the covering material was a little bit tougher. I have a feeling that in a couple years it'll tear, but the bench is very well priced that I would just buy a new one.3 month usage review. Awesome bench for someone looking for compactness and storage. I did have to drill a couple holes to adjust my preferred seating position and leg bar position but that's only due to my personal preference. It's very sturdy for normal workouts, but for anyone going above 100# dumbbell press it wobbles ever so slightly. I would probably go with a fixed bench if that's the case. That being said i can accomplish 99% of my normal gym workout with this setup. Very happy with the purchase.

To those considering the R3 vs. R4...The R4 isn’t fully welded in a box frame like that. I bought mine in January 2016 and it came in a bunch of long boxes that had to be assembled. The packaging was terrible: everything was scratched because the pieces were poking out of the boxes. I was mad because it’s powdercoated, not painted. The powdercoat is what sets Rogue apart, and it was the deciding factor over the alternatives. I can’t repair powdercoat in my garage. I asked Rogue send me new pieces because I didn’t want a bunch of chipped parts. The replacement pieces were chipped too, so I gave up. Rogue gave me a $60 gift card and told me to use barbecue grill spray paint. Solid rack, but Rogue really needs to do a better job protecting their customers’ investment.

His Titan racks already were imbalanced. I have recently been looking at the T3 folding rack, but if his stuff came consistently missing pieces, and thow racks where misshapen that is a huge indicator of their lax attitude. They could be having certain parts built by different machine shops that are obviously doing very cheap work.
@sibby_5476 жыл бұрын
I have a T3 as well. All pieces came on time and it fit together perfectly. Best part: free shipping. Rogue wanted to charge me hundreds just to ship their rack. I don't doubt that Rogue is a step up in quality, but for a home gym the T3 has been great. I did go with a Rogue bar though. That is money well spent in my opinion. At the end of the day, the rack is there to keep you from killing yourself. If it does that, I'm happy. I can understand shipping woes, but I didn't experience any and their shipping is free, so it's hard to complain too much even if it does take longer than expected.

It took forever for them to show up and the G-H combo didn't come with instructions, which was made worse because it was a new model that didn't have pictures online. On top of that, they sent the wrong screws (they did replace them) and were missing the holes to attach the step.

Having worked in steel fabrication, on the drafting/engineering side (as the drafter), I can tell you the most likley reason Rouge and other companies that fabricate steel will change materials, for example the 2" x 3" to 3" x 3" square tubing, is just simple logistics and purchasing. What can the get cheaper in greater quantity without sacrificing strength. Square tubing is by and large, more common (higher demand, and higher supply, and likely much better pricing as a result) than rectangular tubing. I'd be curious if Rogue changed the thickness along with the change in tube dimensions as well. They make great equipment, so I suspect there might be some interesting comments from their engineers about that change, but I suspect it's mostly cost.

I made the mistake of getting an adjustable titan bench for my home gym, while at first it was great, i quickly realized that the end pad (small side) was crooked, and the stress of benching made a bolt shoot out mid set. It also wobbles like crazy, and occasionally it will shift a few degrees mid set, even though I replaced the damaged bolt. The only fix for that is going through and tightening everything again. Rather unfortunate too, because the reviews for it were good.

If I had seen this before buying my Titan X3, I wouldn't have bought it. But I did, and for me it has worked well. Went together very easily when I hand tightened, positioned it on the floor, then fully Titan'd each bolt. All the holes line up, the angles are true, no warping I can see. The Jcups aren't perfect but don't tilt backward like yours. But I did have a shipping issue. Only 1 of three parts of the shipment came. I emailed and got a response. One more part came, but not the hardware. Another email, then the hardware came. So it took a few weeks before I was able to put it together. Once assembled the rack is rock solid. It is a short, flat-foot rack, the only style I could get in my basement area where we decided to have the gym. And Titan was the only one I could find that made one like that with westside spacing.

So, a while back I was looking at the titan fold back rack which is similar to the R-3W rack by Rogue. I talked to my brother, who runs a machine shop, about it and he told me not to trust Chinese metal. It may look good in the pictures, but you never know what you are going to get. So I got the RML-3W by Rogue and I have not once ever thought "Maybe I should have gotten the Titan." One thing I should mention about the 3x3 construction, is that for someone who has limited space, being able to attach anything onto either the front or the sides is very nice. If I had a large space for my home gym then it wouldn't matter, but being able to attach the matador dip handles either on the side or the front is very handy.

I didn't have any major issues with my T3. One of the uprights is slightly bowed at the top, but it doesn't seem to effect it in a meaningful way. It may have been damaged in shipping, as my FedEx delivery person clearly couldn't lift the package, it was torn to pieces from being dragged. They should definitely ship it in more boxes or through a better courier. Rack is sturdy, assembly was straightforward. Took an hour or two with two people. Paint is pretty lackluster and gets worn off pretty easily. I've gotten an adjustable bench, step up platform, T-Bar handle, hex bar, and dip attachment from Titan and all were about the same experience. Fairly solid products with minor cosmetic or build quality issues. Nothing that would bother the average Joe in his garage gym, but not something I'd recommend for commercial gyms or competition lifters.

We bought some stuff from titan fitness for our schools gym (a barbell, Lat pulldown/ cable row machine and a bench.) The cable machine and bar were pretty good (some of the pieces on the cable machine were not totally straight, but not enough to really make a difference for assembly or use.) With the bench, on the other hand, we had to wait a whole month for it, one of the plastic ends caps was broken, the pegs to adjust the seat and back didn't work (the seat peg wasn't aligned so you could only use it flat, and the peg for the back wouldn't screw in all the way so using it for incline was pretty sketchy), and the base wasn't aligned so you'd have to put a 2.5 plate under one of the legs/base to stabilize it.

Very similar experience with Titan: On my T3 rack the holes were drilled incorrectly on my uprights so when you slid the safety pins in the front they would miss the back uprights by about 3 inches. Titan was quick to send replacements though. On my sled, when I installed the arches, it would cause the sled to "three wheel" By this I mean there was always one corner that didn't touch the ground (like your rack). I spent several days swapping the arches from one side to the other, swapping the sled rails from one side to the other and then again trying the arches in different positions. I tried fitting it together loosely, then putting 8 plates on it, and slowly tightening the bolts while I stood on the corners. Nothing worked. Titan was nice enough to send 2 new arches. I tried them and got the same results. I eventually just welded the arches in place since none of the predrilled holes were correct. My axle bar - excellent Wrist roller - exellent Spotter arms - excellent Y dip bar - excellent T3 dumbbell holders - excellent Full bar jack - excellent I guess the trick is to not buy anything with more than three parts? LOL Titan claims to use UHMW plastic on their items but it seems like ABS. It certainly wears like ABS. This goes for the sled, the spotter arms, the J-cups...everything that has plastic.

Wow! Thanks for sharing. I loved the plates I purchased from them and was considering racks an sled. Would you recommend them? Ha needless to say I will spend the extra on Rogue. Thanks again for sharing.

Alan as far as i know the extra upright thickness that threatens the barbell-hitting the plates (which is a real issue with real weights), comes to the INSIDE not as "equally" put if you get what i mean. However that is true for ROGUE only (i've used their Rogue Monster-Lite rack). Sorinex and other brands have wider placement which results in that nasty hitting, yes!

Thanks for the video. Now I'm worried... I purchased a Titan Wall V3... I'm thinking about canceling the order. I mean the backorder... for three weeks now.

Big fan Alan! I've recently had an issue with Titan Fitness. I bought a dual pulley plate loaded pull tower from them. The price was great, but when I received it, it has been nothing but a pain. There is 1 bracket at the top to mount to a wall with nothing at the bottom, so unmodified, floor pulls or low pulls are impossible. I actually had to drill through all 4 legs and anchor it into my garage floor. Also, it came with plastic bushings that ride the rail instead of bearings, and anything less than 20lbs would stick in the middle. I had to take the carriage off and sand down the bushings...yes it is fully functional now, but at much more work than should have been needed. Titan Fitness should not sacrifice quality for the inexpensive price. Also, you have an epic beard!

2019 and I've been using Titan's T-3 power rack - I have zero complaints. It does it's job, looks clean, and it was super cheap.

Oh man sorry to hear this. I recently purchased Titan's version of the reverse hyper extension, their heavy duty version. Assembly was perfect, all the parts were there, the fit and finish are top notch.

I bought a Titan Fitness T-3 Power Rack for my garage gym during Black Friday last year. Super cheap and got to my house super fast. It was at my house in less than 24 hours after I ordered it. Wild. Anyway, it was a pain to put together (partly my own fault and inability to read a diagram). I eventually got it together properly but not matter how I mess with it, it's still uneven. One side always pulls towards the ground. The J-hooks do feel cheap. I haven't bolted mine down but as long as I have some weight on the storage racks it doesn't move too much. It does "walk" a bit but I can move it back into place pretty easy. And I do have to re-tighten the bolts once in a while. I don't feel like it's going to tip over...but it does feel sorta cheap and I'll occasionally have nightmares of the entire thing collapsing on me. All that being said, I have not had nearly the problems Alan had with his. Everything does fit even if it's not 100% even or sorta ugly. The only person that uses the rack is me and my wife occasionally. I think if you're getting one for personal use, you might be OK. I might have gotten lucky with mine because I have heard horror stories. I wouldn't put it past myself to sell it and get one of those Rogue racks one day though. I also have an EliteFTS adjustable bench that I used in the rack to do bench press. The safety bars in the rack fit perfectly for me.

Did you hand tighten it first? I heard someone else say to hand tighten it first and then go back with power tools.

Razziez I just hand tightened the whole thing with a ratchet

I’ve ordered a T3 rack from Titan and they shipped the wrong height the first time and had to re ship. Took a month. I ordered a ghd machine and they shipped it with no hardware. They shipped hardware and still didn’t send me everything. I returned that because a month went by and it still was assembled. Once the rack was together it’s great. I use the hell out of it. The bench is great too. Just be prepared for shipping issues.

I have a titan T3 short rack with a 12" extension holding the weights. I was nervous, but it turned out to be the best investment I've ever made bar none. It is an absolutely fantastic piece of equipment. Maybe I'm lucky, I don't know, but it's absolutely amazing.
@billiamfallace29385 жыл бұрын
Regarding the wobble, you need to assemble it standing while the bolts are still loose and tighten it while standing so it's relaxed with all 4 feet on the ground. I wonder if they improved since the ones he bought. I bought mine about last year when this was posted.

I think rouge went to 3x3 square pipe because they wanted to make sturdier attatchments like their dip bar, the pendiulum thingys, weight storage attachments

Can you use spotter arms with that bench? I get the face saver, but I bench by myself and would refuse without spotter arms.

I bought a Titan power rack off Amazon in 2017. It came in 2 boxes. I was easily able to assemble it (I'm a female in my 40s) and thankfully did not experience what Alan did with anything being bent. I certainly would have returned it before powering through with a sledgehammer to assemble, so kudos to him. The day after I had the rack set up, I got another box from Titan that was half of another rack. I tried to call their customer service to get them to take it back. They were not responsive. Fed Ex refused to take it back. I had this enormous heavy box on my porch for a few days before Fed Ex finally gave in and picked it up. I'm sure someone else at the same time was wondering where the other 1/2 of their rack parts was. In addition to that, the paint job is crappy and the welds are ugly. But at the time I was just trying out weightlifting and didn't want to throw down for a Rogue rack. Personally I will probably never "outgrow" the Titan rack and it works fine for me. I didn't even have to bolt it down because I don't lift very heavy weight and the plate storage at the bottom keeps it stable. But for sure the Rogue racks look a lot nicer.
