2003, we converted a 1996 Ford CF8000 commercial truck to our concept of an ExpeditionVehicle. . To seat our windows, I used Vulcum 116. Twenty-four months twenty-four thousand miles around South America. Alaska, Panama, all over north and central America multiple times. Summers up rough logger tracks to remote mountain lakes. Winters on isolated Baja beaches. . Nearly two decades full-time live-aboard, our Vulcum 116 remains soft and pliable.

Reseal your windows , use putty tape . Tie a short string to limit how far the tailgate window opens , so it doesn’t run in . Put a strap on tailgate so you can pull it closed without putting your back out .

Stop by a car wash and use vaccume to draw out as much water as possible. You can also use it on the weep holes.

@@jerrytaggart7615 then I’ll just chalk this up to drama much like the dead battery video. Has battery issue and put it on the charger. Gets truck started and drives to Walmart to spend $$$ on a jump box but doesn’t go to a parts store to get free battery check and spend equal or less money on a new battery and still ends up buying a new battery. It’s not that I don’t find most of these videos entertaining but come on, this could have been half as long and I would’ve “liked” it if he had broken out said tarp and kept it moving. Fashioning a wick out of a paper towel and using a coffee cup for a bucket when one has a tarp almost makes as much sense as not loading all the “necessary” gear into the bed of his truck at his house.

I noticed that you took a bottle of cold water out of your cooler to boil for your dinner. You could always keep a couple bottles out so they aren't cold and it will boil even faster! I keep a 6pack of water bottles out just for making coffee.

Flex-Seal spray around the edge of the outside of the window where the window meets the truck cap. Simple cheap fix if your truck cap isn't still under warranty. Also put two containers of Damp-Rid to get rid of every ounce of water in the bed-rug and prevent mold. Otherwise man keep making these awesome videos. Love the ones you do in the rain and severe thunderstorms. Inspires me more and more to invest in a truck cap for my diesel and camping treks like these with a similar setup. Props, respects and peace man.
@angielundboater3 жыл бұрын
Not sure if anyone said this before, but a possible quick fix is tightening up the screws around the windows, especially since you've put a lot of miles on it. I just resealed my windows last year when I bought from a dry area, and brought to a wet environment. All the seals were dried out. Also, always have a tarp and bungees on hand for emergencies. 👍🏻

I know how you feel, you came here on high expectations and ready to seek some peace in the rain and 2 drips from the window can be so annoying, it's such a little thing but it sure can put a damper on the mood. I have an 08 Jeep Liberty with the sky roof, which is a soft top that covers about 90% of my roof. The slider broke last spring and everything has been fine with it closed since. We'll I just noticed that the cargo area in the back of my Jeep is all wet. I may be filling it with clear silicone and self tap screwing it shut for good. It's a shame but since they stopped making the Liberty in 2012, you just can't find parts to repair the issue.
